5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Hello
Snow slowly melting. What with lockdown and snow I have very little to report.
DD returned to hospital to have staples ( ouch!) removed. As the hospital is at the edge of the Peak District, she asked to go today instead of yesterday in the hope the snow would have gone. It mostly has, and they're very pleased with her progress. Phew!
My pleasures are a warm house, plenty of food, lots of hobbies, a wonderful DH and the knowledge that those whom I love are safe and well.
Really can't ask for more than that😀
Happy thawing Saturday everyone

Quiet day which I like before I’m back to work.Up early and out with doggy.Just been a quick walk and it’s blooming wild and windy.Had the fire on.
Picked up an olio collection today, most of its portioned and into freezer (now there’s potato sized gaps)
Watching Code Black, which I’m enjoying.Had leftover from yesterday food for my tea.Daffodils starting to bloom ( the ones I bought and in a vase in case anyone thought I was in some tropical microclimate...I ain’t! )14 -
I am not sure that 'congratulations' is the right word, Frith - but i am pleased you have been able to knock some money off your mortgage. if anyone deserves it, it is you.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Went for a walk with OH and DS - wasn't too muddy which is a bonus at the moment
2. next batch of marking started
3. washing hung out though not really any drier when it came in
4. Pizza takeaway = paid for by MiL
5. banked
Pleasures for today
1. managed to sleep past 7 o'clock
2. Click and collect collected - with no gaps or substitutions
3. A walk with OH - again avoiding most mud
4. Cold leftover pizza lunch
5. Seeing the first suggestions of new buds on the trees and shrubs.
Have a good evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Sorry to hear of your family problems, SuffolkSue.
Pleasures for today (Saturday).
1) not a bad sleep
2) a speech therapist arrived to assess smaller son before the tribunal against the County Council. It’s always interesting to hear their findings. All very consistent with autism. Smaller son was very cooperative.
3) money has reached the mortgage and knocked a big chunk off.
4) hens ok
5) bigger son was in the forest all day, making benches, a platform and making stew on the fire.
6) I pottered around doing bits and pieces and cleaned the bathroom.
7) watched Casualty.15 -
Ssue, sorry to hear the update but lovely that family are able to share also. x
Bala, Have “appy” fun, the last app I downloaded was the Lidl shopping one for the coupons.
There’s honestly not much to report today.
1 I did a freezer fakeaway for dinner some chicken pieces and a slice of pizza.
2 The smattering of snow has melted a pleasure there is no ice, but I woke up DH when snow was falling as I don’t know anyone happier than him when snow falls, honestly we should be living in Canada.
3 Smiling as DH is trying to make it a surprise for when he it’s the blood pressure button.
4 and 5 saved for now.

For yesterday,
A lie-in with freshly changed sheets followed by a late breakfast of boiled egg with marmite soldiers.
It was my nephew-in-laws birthday and I had arranged for some posh brownies to be sent as a treat, received a picture of his breakfast which consisted of said brownies plus a glass of single malt, oh to be young 😆
Have got into my book now and am enjoying it more.
The rain / sleet stopped mid afternoon so we took small dog for a walk around the fields, needed wellies as water lying everywhere but I did see my first snowdrop under the beech trees.
Bangers and chips for a proper Saturday tea.15 -
Good mood morning Peeps 🙂
Sue: ❤️Yesterday
1. Cooked breakfast.
2. DS1 reluctantly went to the Walk in Centre and got some antibiotics for infected eczema.
3. Went to Boots for click and collect. Long queues outside, so popped into Mr A in the hope it would be shorter when I came out.......Found some children's dressing up outfits, suitable for birthday presents, reduced to 50p 🥳 .........The queue at Boots had disappeared when I came out, but only because it closes between 1 and 2pm for a deep clean. Will return today 🙄
4. Pulled pork for dinner, with roasted veg. Plates cleared, and veg used up. Yay!5. DH has started painting the walls in the Utility room. Making progress sorting the clutter. 🙂
6. Sold some stuff on The Bay. More progress sorting the clutter. 🙂
Have a lovely day 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

💗 to Sue
Walked to the market on Friday - only 3 stalls at the moment and one them is a sweet stall. Bought lovely big navel oranges 🍊 and grapes 🍇 on the fruit stall and cashew nuts on the other stall.
Lazy cooking last 2 nights, takeaway gyros and chips on Friday and ready made pizza for OH and leftover Greek salad plus tuna and egg for me last night.
Did do cooked breakfast yesterday morning though 😊
Diet gone to pot especially when OH produced an unopened tub of Celebrations yesterday afternoon!
Horrible wet weather but sun ☀️ made an appearance yesterday afternoon - too wet and too late for me to stir myself from my tv watching and chocolates to go for a walk ☹️ I feel very lazy.
Click and collect today so hopefully back to some proper cooking for dinner and hopefully fit in a walk on the way.
Super Sunday all 😘15 -
Used my slow cooker again. This time for a bolognese type sauce. Using Ampersands method I chucked everything in including some leftover white wine. (Amp, I know your advice was for soup but I ran with it
). Am getting the hang of this. Came out lovely. As I don't have room to bulk cook and freeze am lucky that no-one minds eating the same food 2 days in a row. Especially pasta !
(I hope one day to cut down on the meat content substituting it with lentils. Without them knowing ..........).
Am worried about so many but Tiggy on a daily basis. She seems to be ageing rapidly.
My flowers cheer me every time I glance upon them. Red and yellow tulips. Lainey my snow drops appear in the same place every year and yes they have popped up to say hello.
My brothers birthday tomorrow. Not much to offer him with limited resources but have bought him a bundle of new socks. A cake with candles will be involved. He will like that. A box of Lindt chocolate will also make an appearance. His favourites.
Have the best day possible
