BoP - when we were in San Francisco,we had a ride on a Blackpool tram, which we were ridiculously excited about. Goodness knows, I'd been on them plenty of times in Blackpool! ( we went on the trolleys too, of course)
Family tree work plodding on, but it's reaching the stage where the connections are very tenuous. As I come from a long line of miners and mill workers, there is very little accurate documentation pre censuses, and a lot post census is very hazy as they weren't averse to altering the facts ( to make sure a child appeared to have been born ' in wedlock' for example)
Sorry, can't think of anything else to say. I'm not sad, just a bit flat!
Hope everyone else feels a bit livelier! Tomorrow is another day ....
Happy sunny Sunday everyone
Went into supermarket after work as had to buy a card for my mum to send. Got two very rtc cyclamen plants.
There was the most stunning sunrise this morning. And mainly a nice enough day but now lashing with rain.
Pleasures for today
1. a lovely walk with OH at a local bird reserve. Did 5.5 miles around some lakes, up a hill and along the river. So lucky to have all this only a very short distance from home.
2. Nice lunch of stilton, bacon and avo salad - although the bacon was not so great.
3. Cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen - doing it is not a pleasure but having done it is. Listened to ISIHAC and Mark Steel's in town while doing so
4. OH cooked a nice lasagne for tea
5. Washing partially dried on the line
Have a great evening all.
1) a lie in
2) Sainsbury’s order arrived
3) hens ok
4) bumped into a friend of my dad’s near the allotment, feeding his sheep. I’m not sure I’ve ever spoken to him before, though we do wave. We had a chat for about half an hour and I was the second person he’d spoken to in person this year.
5) carried my walk on after feeding the hens, nearly in to the next village.
6) Diet continues. Spanish chicken for tea.
But baby you're a grand
And I will learn to play the good notes
And tune you up the best I can
2. Huge call from France earlier♥️
🇫🇷🇳🇿👏 It's a long, strong, enduring friendship: M. r-w+minor aristo, & l-w founder family colonial🌹. We've never fallen out. We just don't, ce soir aired parallel rants😁.
3. Radical re-pot of a £1 rescue jasmine(was £9.99), supposedly strongly scented, ex Scotsdales several weeks ago. It will or it won't - fingers🤞. On verra.
4. Similarly, exquisite scent from my chamomeles/wintersweet along path, blooming long this year. Really lingering and pervasive - and reassuring, sense of smell being a pandemic concern point. Occasional thoughts along this line.
5. Washing out, while jackdaws, robin, collared doves, blackbirds, feasted all around. Told rhubarb to go back to sleep - coming up too soon. Sticky buds twig, ditto - seems to have taken. Lemon balm resurfacing.
As for &'s olives, what a crop!😚

Respite where needed, Sue. Do begin with yourself. You are worth your own kindness. Do try, especially now.
Such a boost, Frith - overdue for you and long deserved.
Dfv - yes, it IS Erma Bombeck. Thankyou!♥️
