Cannot sleep so my brother is going to wake up to a tray that has a vase of tulips, massive bar of Galaxy and box of brownies (no Lindt). On Christmas day he asked me why he didn't have a card from me (
) so I have made sure that his birthday card is the first thing he will see.
I tried to explain that as things are so tight that the presents will be different from years past. His response was to tell me not to worry as he has everything he needs.....................
My much younger cousin is only a year or two older than my brother and he adores her. She has been brilliant with him over the years especially at times when he was so lonely for company his own age. She has been my treasure. We are having a 'zoom' call. He is looking forward to it........me too.
Must try and get a few hours sleep.
Have a wonderful day.

1. 5 eBay parcels posted.
2. Rtc chicken has made Korean style chicken drumsticks for lunch and roast dinner with all the trimmings. Including rather sad cauliflower turned into cauliflower cheese. (I am very focused on food at the moment!)
3. DH has reconfigured the printer. It is now an air printer again! 🥳
4. Watched the Wizard of Oz 🌈 🌪
5. Went to bed early, to just sit in bed and surf the Old Style boards 🙂
Have a lovely day 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

Happy birthday to Bala's brother.
1. Sunny day, it was great being in the garden.
2. Did some gardening and had the company of a robin.
3. I cleaned the chicken coop inside, which I do regularly, and also the outside of it.
4. Sat with DH in the garden with a coffee. Not for long as it got too chilly staying in one place for long.
5. Enjoyed soup we had for lunch.15 -
Happy Birthday to Bala’s brother 🎉
Sometimes you just have to listen to that inner voice Mhags especially as Haggis was spooked as well, wise move to head home.
For yesterday,
Filling up the bird feeders and seeing buds on apple tree, dreams of spring blossom.
Catching up on all things Ambridge, go Jim!
Laughing at TMS and Aggers mistaking a replay for another, identical dismissal, his giggles were infectious ☺️An afternoon nap followed by a walk with Capt S and small dog, the cold wind made my face ache but good to stretch legs.
Talking of which watched two episodes of Winter Walks, one with Rev R Coles who made his way to the ruins of Riveaux Abbey and another with Simon Armitage who took the coastal path to Robins Hood bay. Smashing programmes and heartily recommended.14 -
villagelife said:Cocketts - I only went to look at the puppy as my sister couldn't travel. She won't be collecting the puppy until the appropriate time. My sister wanted a check that the puppy looked healthy and the Mum was ok to check it was reputable.Everything will be alright in the end - and if it's not alright, it's not the end ........14

My pleasures for the weekend:
1. Another week done with no takeaways, wahey! I have however booked vegan sushi (don't knock it til you've tried it...lush!) to arrive next month for our anniversary 'date' night
2. Got some good RTC bargains at the weekend. Vegan pizzas for Saturday night (was planning on getting some anyway), 20p bag of rocket to go with, and some posh bread for pennies. Sunday was homemade root veg stew and fresh parsley dumplings, using up parsley from last week.
3. Watching Stardust on Saturday night with the family and a lager. Love that film!
4. Went round to new house following fuzzy photo on survey that looked suspiciously like knotweed. Seems there is an infestation of...pheasant berry! Lovely to see gardens in full sun, they are truly amazing, and you can see the beginning of the Mourne Mountains from the front of the house. Just need Nationwide to approve mortgage. Fingers crossed!
5. Recognised with a giftcard for my contributions to my current project, which is really nice as I worked like a dog last week.14 -
Good afternoon
Happy birthday, brother of Bala. I hope you're having a good day 😀🎂
BoP - Thank you for the facebk link. I loved SF.
Sainsbury's this morning. Nice and quiet and no noticeable gaps in stock, except, bizarrely, own brand ginger biscuits! Might try making my own.
Day 1 of my Pilates course. Really enjoyed it. Good to move about a bit.
Looking forward to getting my vaccination invite any day soon. Wish I could volunteer to help, but I guess they would want someone in my age group to be vaccinated before helping out!
Think I am going to give up on The Serpent. Fascinating though the story is, I can't do with the jumping-about timeline. I could do with a big whiteboard to write it all on, but don't think it is worth that much effort!
Freezer leftover chilli for tea, so that's easy enough.
Happy afternoon everyone14
