1. Long work day finished for the week. Only 2 days to go this week now.
2. DS1 phoned for a chat.
3. Messages with DS2 girlfriend.
4. New recipe for tea which was good.
5. Enjoyed my first coffee.13 -
Lovely to hear people starting to get the vaccine.
1. Tidied the bedroom yesterday and its so nice to go in and out of. Was just a matter of clearing away some bits from surfaces, why didn't I do it earlier?!
2. DD made vegan spaghetti bolognese last night, enough for lunch today too. Yum yum 😋
3. Hearing news that conveyancing is going well and we might complete in Feb, which saves us over 12k in stamp duty I think. If we manage it I'll be chuffed but I've based all calculations on us not doing it. Valuation report being reviewed today so still a chance the building society will stall the process..
4. DH getting up with baby and letting me sleep in til 7 today.
5. Yesterday eurocamp adjusted my booking to include a loyalty discount, 60 quid off and looking forward to more normal times (please let it happen pleasepleasepleaseplease!)13 -
For yesterday,
Funny old day as both me fellow housemates are poorly, Capt S got a docs appointment and has been referred for blood tests, small dog lethargic and obviously in pain so trip to vet for painkillers. They suspect arthritic left hip but seems to have come on too quickly for that 🤔
Got out for some food shopping, emporium quiet and picked up a few rtc items for freezer.
Received some waterproof shoe glue in post, a seam has come apart on my yard boots and I got a wet foot the other day, fingers crossed it does the job.
Watching the seagulls doing aerial acrobatics over the fields, looked like they were almost playing on the wind.
A glass of wine with evening meal.14 -

Hello everyone, hope you don’t mind a newcomer onboard? I’ve been reading this thread for some time now and thoroughly enjoy reading about all your pleasures, your lovely meals and families and what you have been getting up to. I’ve been feeling quite ‘meh’ recently (like I imagine a lot of people are) and your love and loyalty to each other warms my heart every day and I can tell how much each of you value this thread so I thought perhaps I could join in too? You all seem so welcoming and lovely but I do sincerely hope I am not intruding.
Pleasures for yesterday (Tuesday)
Had a good chat with some colleagues at work. It wasn’t nice to hear they are unhappy but it’s good to know that they have the same issues as me and that I am not alone.
I was so tired after work I went for an afternoon nap. It was only for 20 minutes but I woke up feeling refreshed.
Quick visit to my niece to drop off her birthday present. She told me all about her home schooling and my 3 year old nephew showed me his new dance moves.
Chicken and savory rice for tea. Savoury rice is not one of the things I enjoy at all but it’s Mr Unicorn’s favourite so it was a pleasure to see him wolf it down
We continued to watch ‘Life’. It’s about 4 people who live in the same building and how their lives intertwine. I think it might have been on bbc1 a few months ago but we’re just getting round to watching it now.

Chubby Unicorn
WELCOME !
The more the merrier I am sure.
Those are some lovely things you said about us. I too watched 'Life' 'cos I love Alison Steadman. I also love people enjoying food I have cooked.
M&M I blame Blackbeard for ONE of my spare tyres. Absolutely sure it wasn't there before I met him !
Lainey sorry Captain and Tilly not well. Fingers crossed for speedy recovery.
xAKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo
According to a lovely poster I am Bala the Brave who wrestled a Tiger. You know who you are.....
I HAVE A GOLD STAR and A MEDAL and a Title !13 -
Hello chubby unicorn. Nice to meet you
Lainey - hope your housemates improve , and that they don't smittle you (old Yorkshire, meaning infect. I like the word!)
Another day of not much. The days are becoming very ' cut and paste' I feel.
Made a key lime pie. Limes were bought for festive drinks, but with no visitors, that didn't happen. Pie will be nice tho.
DD went back to hospital for rest of staples removed ( why staples sounds so much worse than stitches I don't know ) The wound is now healed properly so they're all out now. So she can have a shower, to her great delight.
BLT for tea.Not had that for ages so will be a treat
Happy wet Wednesday everyone

Hello all, sorry that I've been missing. I had my scan on Monday and every day so far this week I've had messages off my sister with tales of woe (wedding dress won't fit for starters - I did tell her to go on a diet back in August but....). Not once has she mentioned my scan, not even to ask how it went. Anyway, I get the results tomorrow so time to pull myself together and concentrate on the pleasures. It'll be a few days worth all mixed up but hey, pleasures are pleasures and are not to be sniffed at.
Scan was quick and efficient. I stopped at the patient experience hub on the way out of the hospital and spoke to a lovely lady to tell her how helpful the whole department had been.
The HT is cracking on with his online schooling and is achieving good results in tests. He also has a date for a telephone college interview.
Work was fine Monday and Tuesday. I was worried if I'd be ok or if I'd feel a bit rough. No problems though.
I am gradually discovering more things that I can eat without needing strong painkillers. It's been so long since I needed to eat very low fat that I'd forgotten a lot of things. I haven't forgotten how to check fat content though, so it's all good.
The HT and I have been playing on the Nintendo Switch before bed. We have a relaxing game, no death and destruction etc and we are both sleeping much better.
Take care all of you and a special big hug to SSue.
Bala, I'm sorry that I missed your brothers birthday. Tell him I've sent him a cyber wave to make up for it.
