ampersand I love the tea pot. My mum's family are from Kilkenny and in fact from the area near Nicholas Mosse. My favourite pawert of the world.
Work has been relentless so can't keep up with all the posts but enjoy the ones I do read.
My pleasures:
1. Family enjoyed carrot soup for lunch yesterday, and breadmaker back in action. Good, cheap food. DD is making veggie stew and dumplings tonight which'll give me a rest.
2. Trip to new house last night for survey. Nothing unexpected really except needing to rewire the old part before we move in. Nothing we can't handle.
3. Baby Roo, full of beans and fun fun fun every night. Keeps me going.
4. Up to date on the budget, no spending yesterday except survey (budgeted for)
5. We are all safe and healthy - bit of a weak one but work is stressing me out so grasping at straws...16 -
1 The garden order arrived today, via the happiest local courier in the world, he stopped and chatted and was just so infectiously happy. We then made plans as now it involves digging up some sad looking areas to prepare, I will see what the weather is like tomorrow to prepare the area, meanwhile the plants are safe in the greenhouse.
2 We’ve been watching some old films the latest curiosity was JM Barries The Admirable Critchton. I didn’t realise he did other work that I loved, although the film had me shouting at the TV, but hey it’s 1957 standards.
3 Most of the garden appears to be in the lounge via us and the animals, so did a little tidying, and set to cleaning all the downstairs windows, well I cleaned all around the spider nests but left them alone, I know I’m a soft touch, but one spider did make me scream yesterday, I was absent minded folding the pillowcases when a very large spider came stalking out of one, these were previously hanging drying, I very quickly came to the decision after a yelp that the pillowcases could wait, I’m happy to live and let live, but the size of that one it is living well here.
4 Mwah, I just used the excuse that the kitchen is “too clean” to cook in, so I will have to order in from the local independent on voucher of course.
5 A candle is burning, and I’m about to read a chapter or two.

Hello.Cold here. Lots of black ice. And snow forecast overnight.
Up and about as had mums meds delivery booked in on an early slot. Which I much prefer to waiting in ( not that I was going anywhere!)
Wrote a list and all but one thing ticked off.
Decluttering continues. Dropped off some stuff at a friends. Organised for a pick up of things tomorrow and put a post on local page for something else & another friend saw that and coming tomorrow. If it ain’t been used since I got back to UK it’s out!Lovely dog walk with DD2. Met three sets of friends when out so socially distanced chats as we went along! Sun was shining. Sky was blue. It was a whole 1o.
Round to mums. Sorted her new medication. Chatted to her neighbour. Then chatted to a friends parents as they walked by.
Home. Hello dog. It really wasn’t that long ( when I got home from work on Sunday he was lying waiting in the porch for me)
in my bid not to go to supermarket till I absolutely have to ( by Friday I reckon) made nachos with some leftover bolognese sauce and tortilla chips ( really son ( who would make them) three bags that had leftover tortilla chips!) and cheese! Was very yummy.Had cleaned out fridge today as one of my jobs. Tomorrow I’m going to sort the freezer!14 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) not a bad sleep.
2) smaller son’s transport did not appear so we had a little drive to his college. He only does mornings so I sat in the car for 3 hours and picked him up again!
3) had some paperwork to do in the school office so I got to meet the bigger therapy dog.
4) the “new” wheel arrived from EBay for my car so I took the little spare off and swapped it over. There was a second where I convinced myself I’d bought the wrong size!
5) a tasty tea of Spag Bol for smaller son and Spanish chicken with courgettes for me. All BSD. Also made an apple strudel for sons. Bigger son has gone to see the shadowy figure that is his father.
6) watched Holby City.14 -
For last couple of days.
1. Received my second vaccine. I'm one of the few at the hospital who will receive 2nd dose at 3 weeks. I managed to book in quickly when it was 1at rolled out. Some will be waiting 12 weeks.
2. Otherwise with work just getting through each day.
3. Text message from a friend I hadn't heard from in a while.
4. Finished my book which I enjoyed
5. Lighting candles.14 -
Good Morning
Well, my first beef stew was a success. As I was slow cooking I put the joint in whole after sealing it. It fell apart so beautifully. I don't normally use thyme but I had some dried and it added a flavour I am not used to in my cooking but really worked. I had read about 5 recipes and then just toodled off and trusted myself. Who knew it was so easy..........
I LOVE my Crock Pot !
Have noticed that my brother hums with anticipation when he gets up and notes the cooking smells. I love the fact that he wants to know what I am attempting and how I am making it. We are a family of food lovers and have been lucky enough to enjoy great home cooked meals. We ALL love my Mum's cooking. One of my brothers is a really great cook. Really great.
Took Tiggy for a massive walk yesterday. Will try again today. She is leaning on me keeping me warm. And squashing me !
Happycas and VJ...........hope both of your daughters are getting stronger.
Sue, lovely lady, thinking of you.
To all, have a good day

Good news on your vaccination VL.
For yesterday,
Filling up the bird feeders, a small flock of long tailed t*ts have discovered them and are really going through the sunflower seeds, pretty little birds.
Messages and photos from eldest niece, she has her own beauty business and is usually very busy so bored at the moment, the photos were of her newly arranged undies drawer 😂
Sunny afternoon over the yard, double lined pony in school as trying to establish a more collected trot. With twelve horses and ponies the owner is busy trying to keep them from getting bored so various Shetland’s and the like were being led out for a stomp around the fields.
Dried fruit & sugar covered in hot tea and put aside to soak overnight so I can make a tea loaf today.
Evening meal was a vegetarian casserole, served with mustard mash, tasty.

Lainey can you share your tea loaf recipe? I used to make one when we were first married and it was lovely. But no idea where the recipe is /was/ gone! Thank you 😊13
