Good Morning All,
Very tempting food pictures guys!Recents.....
1. A blast from the past with a message from someone I did my degree with 40 years ago. Lovely to hear from him. 🙂
2. DD had driving practice, and our route included free Caffè Nero's, 20p Xmas cards and wrapping paper in M&S and an Olio collection. (I notice today she still has sprouts and parsnips advertised for collection. I should have offered to take some yesterday, but I think the troops are fed up of parsnips!).3. Sold the TV on eBay for the second time 🙄.....Less money this time..... 🙄 At least it is on its way out of the house 🙂.
4. DH made spaghetti Bolognaise for tea, so I did not have to cook 🙂.
5. DD engrossed in work projects and seems happy.
It is our 29th wedding anniversary today. I think we will go out.......the back door and in the side door 🥳........... (29 years ago we were in Barbados, getting married under an almond tree 🙂). Tonight we are having chicken pie 🤣
Have a lovely day 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

Good afternoon
Lots of snow today. Very unusual here.
Lainey - my mum called that loaf tea brack. We always had it sliced and buttered .I loved it and will now try it myself.
Ampersand - I think I will adopt your friend's housework saying. Thank you. Meanwhile, please be careful or, as my dad would say if anyone fell ' Take more water with it'!!
Frith - so pleased to hear good news re son and college
Today
Going nowhere in all this snow. But there's nowhere to go anyway, so that's ok.
Been sorting out paperwork. A few years ago I started doing our family trees. It's been languishing in a drawer for a couple of years, but I think now might be a good time to have another look at it. Trouble is, it's a very time consuming rabbit hole. But then, what else would I be doing?
Had a msg from the teacher of a Pilates class I used to go to ( in another life, it feels like!). She is doing online classes so I think I'll sign up. Not too worried about the pilates, as long as I can manage the tech part!I
Happy ❄❄ day everyone ⛄

DD - And of course Jim knew. Rev newvoice Alan, too?
Frith - so good to read YS's school reaction! One tiny morning of relief and recompense for all your incredible input, especially over the last 2 years, even without lockdown.
Bb - soup can be made any and every which way and yours will be fine. On this thread are hundreds of 'using up'+'bottom of fridge' soupy posts. Don't think about it too much. Simmer your liquids with onion/garlic, leftover allsorts - veg, pasta, leafy tops/greens etc. Throw in herby wotnots. Chuck in ends of wine, slurps of booze.....all good. Beans are good too:-) It'll be lush. & goes out back in every worst weather to pick bits+pieces, herbs, dandelions😋des bons salades! and always bay leaves - 2 potted trees, both well-travelled+memory-laden🇫🇷♥️🍷.
HE - Happy Anniversary, paint those doors red. Wine to match.

1. Start with another exciting pic, &.
Early WhatsApp from NZ (requesting marmalade recipe+blahblah, hence pic of wax tops, unknown in Aotearoa)which actually Heard and Seen worked! 'Twas such fun😁. Long, long talkies, plus uploaded pics of marmalade made by & in the Wairarapa,12 Feb 2019, while friend was out😄. Pouring outside UK1000h, boiling hot NZ 2300h, both of us in nighties😁. Slack &, tsk tsk!. But, as Lainey says, if Aggers can commentate in jimjams+dg.... was listening to that early as well. Turned out we were a bit of a Town of Gown LP silly clox crickety group, sharing matchless knowledge and verdicts of highest tone and expertise online.😘.
2. Oh goody! Miles Jupp is back on R4x, 'In and Out of the Kitchen' and Mr Mullany is there too. Another Soddit alert. Well, petrol spend is way down, so CD Series 1-3 ordered. Another Why Not?😁

3. Yesterday's rtc 10p emporium choc. torsade was most impatient during brekkie chat.
4. Relieved. Head purple, still bumpy, hairline to temple. Ok if upright.
5. Sweet lass from dental surgery called. Monday check-up still on, to &'s surprise. Many thorough ?s and provisos. Reassuring.

Good evening all and Happy Anniversary H_E_2
Pleasures for yesterday....
The HT had a face on all morning. He did eventually come clean and say that he felt sad that he'd never hear his dad say that he was proud of him. We had a long talk, a look through his baby/toddler photos and normal service has resumed. His father absolutely adored him and I could hardly get near him the first couple of months that we had him. The pleasure was in keeping the lines of communication open.
I made a "to do" list that included several things that will be quick and easy to do but that I keep forgetting. The pleasure was dating it for the day after the list was made.
On Monday the doctor told me that my scan appointment would be in about six weeks time. That's a long time to worry so I rang the doctors, confirmed what scan I needed then rang the hospital and asked if they had any cancellations could they call me as I could be there in five minutes. The lovely lady checked for me there and then and my scan is this coming Monday.
A quick chat with my sister who continues to feel better. Her leg is still a bit sore but it's bearable.
A soak in the bath, clean pjs and into bed to watch flicks of net with the HT. We had the cat and a bag of haribo in between us. The cat is a bit of a dodgy pleasure as she bites sometimes if the wrong bit of her royal personage is touched.
Take care all of you

Thanks Amp..........never would have ventured with wine in a soup. But hey-ho.......why not.
When I have my forever home (it WILL happen) I plan on bay trees and a very special olive tree. My beloved Aunty had 5 or 6 olive trees in Cyprus and she loved them. She used to handpick the olives, some for oil, some to eat and I always imagined helping her harvest them. Sadly, it never happened.
Lainey am convinced that Tiggy is named so because of the 2 elderly ladies sitting next to me at the vets. They were waiting for their CAT, and they helped me name her. It was years later that I realised Tiggy is used more for cats. One night when she got away from me (long story) she was rescued by a lady who was calling her cat in. Named Tiggy.
Absolutely love the name 'Tilly'.
