Amazing photo's &.1 I admit it, I shopped the online garden sale, I am going to give a try at doing some things this year, as it looks dubious that we will be able to get away in the van. It has sparked a inner what on earth was I thinking who wants to garden in the freezing cold!2 I meal planned for the week, I am looking forward to the first grocery delivery since 23rd as I am feeling very un inspired from stock. We have just made our way through about half of some luxury biccies gifted.3 We got engrossed in watching castaway, I've never seen it before but it was the early hours of the morning, about 2.30 before we knew it.4 Re filled the birdfeeders and put some leftovers out for the foxes.15

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) a lie in after having 5 (!) nightmares overnight.
2) have lost 6lbs since Jan 2nd.
3) poorly hen has died. Took the opportunity to give the temporary pen a proper clean out.
4) dad came up to borrow 3 eggs from me. Since he has his vaccination he’s also been out to buy layers pellets - after 11 months at home.
5) curry for tea, with courgettes for me.
6) did the virtual pub quiz from Saturday.
7) clean sheets but sadly the last hot water bottle split yesterday so I’m freezing! I think it’s about 10 degrees upstairs.12 -
Good morning
Just had the most wonderful shower. Sometimes they are perfunctory with your mind on other things. But sometimes like just now you can feel the hot water easing aches and pains. And even washing away some cares/worries. Superb !
Looking forward to my walk with SLG.........even though it's raining slightly. (Yes, she absolutely insisted on joining me in the bathroom whilst I showered). She has a bright pink weather proof coat that I warm on the radiator before we leave. Just to start my day with a walk always seems to help with the rest of the day. Knowing that she has had her exercise puts my mind at rest.
Am going to slow cook a beef casserole/stew (don't know the difference) as I bought brisket by accident. I have NEVER cooked this before and as you all know..........I don't like cooking ! tee-hee............
Hope you are all well. One nephew with Covid. Symptoms loss of taste and smell. Still worrying. He is the son of my brother that almost died last year with the burst ulcers and lesions. He is still mending so I hope to God that he doesn't contract the virus. Once again, thank you NHS.
Keep safe

HappyCas - DH has numerous cashmere jumpers all the same, but different colours. (He buys them in the sale!). Because they are so fine, they go into holes at the seams. They all seamed to go at once this time!Yesterday
1. A trip to Boots to collect an order of cheap toothpaste. (I think the toothpaste stocks will outlast me 🤣).
2. Popped into ASDA while I was out, and the car park was empty.......Rummaged through a pallet of reduced bedding and got a sheet, a throw, Xmas duvet set, unicorn towel, unicorn sheet, and a support pillow, all for £1 or £2 each 🥳 .......The Unicorn stuff will be a present for a small person, and I gave the pillow to DD as she is suffering with neck pain at the moment. She was very happy 🙂
3. Made stir fry for lunch using LO pork from Sunday, and stew in the slow cooker for dinner. The troops were happy.
4. Made Washing Gloop. We have used up the last batch really quickly.
5. We finally watched the last Grayson Perry Art Club. So lovely seeing the artworks displayed professionally. He is so good with people........Alan Measles for PM!Have a lovely day 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

Met 2 people she knew and I person I know for quick chats on walk. Nice to see some different faces
Homemade spicy butternut squash and red pepper soup for lunch and leftovers pie with herby pastry for dinner, both 😋
OHs parents both had their first jabs, at home, at the weekend, both said they didn’t feel quite right after, but glad they’ve had them. My 90 year old neighbour hasn’t heard anything about hers yet
Enjoying reading my Escape to the Chateau book 😊

And seconded HE, this house loves Grayson Perry.
Sorry about your hen Frith.
For yesterday,
Cold day but the sun kept coming out which is always cheering, busy morning doing chores.
Swept the hearth and replaced the greenery & candles on Yule log, it will stay in place until Imbolc.
At the yard, worked gorgeous girl in the school, groomed her and popped rug back on for her to doze while I sorted out our big boxes of equipment. She slept with one eye half open in case of any stray treats.
Tasty tea of baked mackerel with sweet potato and roasted veg.
Bit of tv watching, first couple of Staged episodes followed by the new series, Pembrokeshire Murders, only problem was I kept nodding off and may have missed a bit.

Pleasures yesterday
Lots of snow around still, but thawing so easier to walk in some parts.
Dog having lovely run with a couple of young cocker spaniels.
Biweekly Covid test negative, it may not be as sensitive as the standard PCR test but it gives some reassurance. It's more likely to give false positives than negatives.
Online choir new term, great to be back, and a fabulous song to work on.
Reading Orwell's 1984 again, last read many years ago. Kindle books have Orwell's classics free at the moment.
Lunch was fish and chips from the freezer, with homemade cucumber and lemon pickle. Simple but nice.
Online work meeting, all given the chance to express their thoughts and feelings. Some broke down, feeling scared, exhausted, anxious, guilty because they can't do their job to the expected high standard. The pleasure? Confirmation that despite adversity we are a fabulous team and support each other.
Homemade sourdough bread and cheese, may be peasant food but I like it.
One life - your life - live it!14 -
Good morning all,
& fabulous photos, especially the robin one.
Frith we've been having nightmares too. The HT last night and me the night before.
Pleasures for yesterday....
My GP rang me when he said he would. The news isn't great but we'll see what happens. I need a scan next. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
All washing (and drying) done. No irong as mostly pyjamas, towels etc. All bins emptied and house tidied ready for whatever this week can throw at us.
My sister messaged me to say that she was home from hospital and back in her own bed.
The cat fud delivery arrived, exactly when the email said it would. That's the princess cat in meals for the next two months.
Hot bath, clean pjs and watching tv (BBC iplayer) with the HT. He doesn't object to spending so much time with me. Considering that he's a teenager and some of his friends seem to argue rather a lot with their parents, I feel very lucky.
Take care all of you14 -
Bala - glad you're feeling brighter. Brisket in slow cooker will be very tasty.
House elf - glad jumper mending isn't a full-time job!
Cranky - having a son who wants to be with you isn't good luck. It's years of good parenting!
A lovely bright day. Going for a walk soon.
Been removing labels from clothes. I'm always a tickly person, but even more so lately, and labels drive me crackers. It takes ages to remove them. They often seem to be the most securely sewn part of the garment!
Had a good clean up but seem to have lost the nozzle bit of the vacuum. Not sure how I managed that, but I know if I buy a new one it will reappear, so I'll hang on for a bit.
DD continues to make excellent progress. Not visiting her of course, but lots of messages back and forth.
Right, off for a walk in the sun
Happy 🌞day everyone
