Snowed a lot this morning but has since melted on the roads. Still about 4cm on the fields.14 -
Good morning. I do believe it’s now Wednesday. I’m seriously muddled with the days of the week and shall look forward to next Monday when all shall be well and truly back to normal.Anyway Tuesday was a lovely day. We woke to snow. Not lots but enough to cover the pavements and lawns but at least the roads were clear.Wrote a very long list of things to do and ticked off everything. Need to do another one for upstairs today. I’m quite motivated by a list and enjoy the ticking off part. Always have been!
Moved my Christmas tree to a better spot in the garden and put the fat ball feeder in it so it was nice watching the birds at a different angle to where they were before.
Went a lovely walk with DD1 and doggy. We met up with her godfather and had a good catch up with him. Fields mainly crunchy ( apart from the odd soggy bits!)
Then demisted and defrosted the car to go to supermarket. Got a few things RTC lots of onions, a few salady things. It was busy but as I chatted to shop assistant apparently this was it quiet! Waaah!Finished the book I got for Christmas. This was a personal achievement as I don’t read very much these days. But what a disappointing last line. ‘She opened her mouth and gave her answer’ ....whaaaaaat? Nooooo! What was the answer? Anyway it’s been nice being snuggled up under a lamp and just reading and turning page after page . Maybe I’ll read another one!Made BLT for tea with an eclectic collection of leftover baked potatoes chopped up into little pieces anf roasted, some roasted veg, some salad . Very yummy.
I bought some treats from ‘home’ ( Australia) for Christmas so I’m eeking out a bar of Caramilk which is amazing! A bit like a caramac ( though not the same) but in very chunky dairy milk form.Lovely long chat with friend, feel like we’ve not had a proper catch up though we speak often but she’s been busy, I’ve just been going out . So we had a two hour catch up!And bed. And slept fairly well. Though woke up from a dream where I was chatting to Nicola Sturgeon about tomatoes.Have a good day. I’m hoping to get son’s old room in some semblance of the order I would like it to be. It’s currently a room with a clothes horse...ironing piles, DD1 overspilled suitcase, stuff. I’m ’shopping’ from my own stuff to refurb it. Though will need new ( to me) curtains at some point but will wait till the charity shops are reopened ( pffft whenever that will be as we are in Tier 4 )
Have a lovely day. I’m just about to get up with doggy.
Sue I hope things are as okay as they can be for you all. Take care x15 -

4. DH brought cake home that he was given. A very tasty chocolate cake.
5. DS2 wanted pizza for his last night at home.14 -

For yesterday, I’m with Mhags, these in between days are so confusing and not in a good, Cure type way.
Chat with my bf, her town is on high flood alert but she is ok at the moment so all digits crossed she stays that way.
The grey foggy weather is a tad depressing but a quick walk around the garden showed a large number of green shoots in borders and pots.
Time spent with my girlie in the oh so fresh air, she is due a visit from the vets for vaccinations and also a teeth check as suspect she may have a sharp point.
Remembering that I had stashed a box of Bendicks in a cupboard a few months ago!
Watched the Only Connect festive special and then the final episode of Black Narcissus, entertaining enough but personally thought it didn’t touch the original film for tense climax.

Just done the end of years things, and the savings things have got more growth that the rate of the mortgage, so never overpay, they do not give you anything inn return! BoP does not give financial advice and does not use a IFA! I does not give them my cash! Inn fact they only say you should rebalance, and when I moved, I did rebalance for the thirst time in a donkeys years, and mes worst performer (only up 4% last year) has now overtaken mes best on one of the accounts!

Very frosty start but now lovely and sunny
Bala, - we have fairy lights on the trees/ bushes in the back garden that come on at dusk. Just a few, don't want to look like Blackpool!, but very pretty.
SSue, DfV - thinking of you both. Festive times can be very difficult.
To Morrisons today to replenish basics. Not too busy and plenty of everything we needed.
A treat tonight. We are going with DD and partner to winter illuminations at our nearby wildlife park. We should have been going early Dec then it was cancelled because of covid restrictions. Then put back on again! Will be good to do something different. DGC say to try the waffles. Might just do that.
Have made chilli in the slow cooker for when we get back. We might need warming up.
Happy 🌞 Wednesday everyone13 -
Hello. Currently 1o and a stunning moon and star filled sky. Our dusting of snow remains . It’s been a beautiful day . The brightest of blue skies and sunshine...though blooming chilly!
Up early with doggy. Back to bed for an hour so then went with DD2 into town. She had a GP appointment then we walked over a very frosty park, along by the river and walked into town centre to go to M&S . Got a few nice bits and bobs. Chat with lady at till , she was bemoaning that people were supposed to be essential shopping only ( about another customer) and I thought well nothing here is essential and is anything really essential in M&S however we were in town anyway and they were open and providing a service of selling food. And judging by the amount of customers in they too thought it was essential then. Hmmmm!Home. Painted console table from pale grey to white and painted a chair from white to a bit whiter! Just a touch up really for that. Left them to dry. The dog did not however and is sporting a white tail.Walked round to mums. Did her meds and hoovered and did dishes. And tidied the bit of worktop available. DD1 did her ironing.Walked back and then moved mattress from sons room, outside to go to tip. Then took furniture up. The room is now an office space and I have placed some things that were on my big desk in Melbourne on my little desk and little shelves. DD2 sorted out the wardrobe space of stuff that was left by son ( waiting to hear if he wants it and if he wants his bookcase or it’s getting painted white!)
We all had a nice walk across the fields. Mainly crispy...occasionally soggy! Met friends on way home so I stayed and chatted to them and girls went on.Home and put up pictures in my new to me room. Hoovered upstairs and downstairs, washed floors.I think most of Christmas is away...then I find more!Enjoyed playing uno with DD1. I’m not a fan of card games but like uno...I was the reigning champion! Three out of five games .Early start tomorrow...workety work beckons for a few hours at silly o’clock!14 -
pirate Pete that’s good news about Bopsie, sighs of relief all round I’m sure.15 -
Great news Bopsie.
Wow Mr T prices are shocking, they aren’t creeping up they are downright over the wall.
1 Up early and made a lovely toasted roll of bacon, brie and cranberry, I got too much bacon out for the turkey.
2 Clean bedding for us, and then also did the ferret bedding, tidying and vaxxed.
3 A trip out to pick up the right meds with a ferret on my lap enjoying looking out of the window as we went.
4 A nice relaxed day, DH started to build his 4800 piece lego present, I’m surprised at just how quick he’s getting through it. I in turn relaxed and read.
5 An easy oven cook dinner
