Lovely photos.
1. Spent time in the garden - cleared up leaves and it was blue skies and sunny. Checked for wind damage and there wasn't any thankfully.
2. Chat with neighbour who was also out in his garden.
3. House slightly tidier as our some presents away. Still more to do but better than it was.
4. Watched tv while reading magazines .
5. DS2 cooked Turkey and ham pie which was tasty.

For yesterday,
Up early, so dark and bbrrr cold, quick walk around cottage to check for storm damage and then quickly back in for first cuppa.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge. Oh yes!
A tidy up of food cupboard, a freezer inventory and a meal plan for the coming week, mainly fish and vegetarian as meat heavy lately.
With the equine girlie, as & said was eye-watering cold but happy to be exercising.
Watched and enjoyed Black Narcissus.15 -

Afternoon all, pleasures for yesterday....
Slow, gentle start to the day
Visit from friend who we are bubbled with. Friend went home several hours later with home made Christmas cake, home made liqueur, home made jam and other presents
Roast dinner made with the Christmas dinner leftovers, yum
The HT and I treated ourselves to a smart tv and that arrived just after dinner. We watch a lot of flix of net and are fed up of the cat treading on the laptop and switching it off. It's not a huge tv, it's the same size as the HT's old one - just more useful.
Online gaming with friend. Another couple of hours of chatting in between gaming stuff
Take care all of you14 -
Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas, a clear idea to whom thank you letters must go & all the anticipation of a Please-Let-It-Be-Better New YearOS Pleasures in the last weekMandolorian & we’re all engrossed!Shame on me. Recognising Royal Albert rose china in Midsomer Murders....“Non-corrosive” misheard as “non-coercive” aluminium ooops No wonder Hasselblad cameras are so expensive $40K but there are Even More expensive ones!”I’m not sure that letterbox is wide enough” “They’re Standardised, mum” “Oh yeah?” “Yeah! To different standards” - I collapsed into giggles.“Clean your room or I’ll cut your hair again” - dash, the Opportunities Missed... [To Date.]Smoked salmon on rye, ‘tis the season & I need the freezer space. (“For the bodies” agrees Youngest. [What has he got planned?!])Need to clarify a bathroom door protocol. “Open for access, closed in use” I thought, but someone had closed-as-steamy. Anyway, shut doors worry me (still) as seizures...“Is that you, child, or some Really Incompetent burglar?” Headphones leave me none the wiser. (I may tell them to get the sort that permit doorbells & irate parents through, but they’re Much more expensive.)“Good lad, person, thing” - Husband praising son with erratic words... (I might worry, but they All fumble for the mot juste from time to time.)Brokenwood mysteries & husband kitspotting “is that a wool Swanni? How iconic can you get?” Awww!“The longer you bait him, the longer before he cooks meatballs.” Definite pause as hungry sibling considers cause & effect!!Christmas dinner in an actifry! YouTube - husband eyeing it pensively & wondering how you keep the pigs in their blankets. Pigs in origami blankets? I wonder...I watched Bill’s dances [he Goes for it! How could Craig have thought him a Widdecomb?] & now I have “contaminated” Himself’s YouTube feed & he’s having to delete lots of dancing videos....“Yeay, my nutsack!” (Himself’s new pouch [attachment-to-new-bag] has arrived) “we can see” observed youngest, eying his imminently-showering father with disapproval... Our son has a lovely line in obsidian black humour.Had a sudden glimpse into why the lad’s desktop won’t wipe for me. May still have Google protection in place. Time to email them with a copy of the death certificate & request either a password reset or an unlocking of every device registered to him (& a list of those devices.) [They wipe the account, but Don’t unhitch devices.] Being the de facto Executor remains a source of tears.Listening to himself shopping for a “rugged dumbphone” - he’s found one with pretty much a month standby and is happy as a clam! Now to research migrating a SIM card. [Sorted!]Son lurches back in from gym & replies to greeting with “guten morgen mine, frowline” - love the Er moment with our appalling, tenuous, strictly-for-family-comedic-effect German. As problems go, it’s a nice one but where the Dickens are we to store 50+ (Kilner) jars of jam that the chaps don’t want to eat (Nostradamus cherry, plum, damson, edible hedge blends (goosegog, jostaberry, red white & blackcurrants, raspberries, blackberries, tayberries, feral strawberries etc) and so on?! As while I’d happily donate the jam, I’d like the jars & rings back... The chaps are in a tidying mood, gods have mercy on me.There’s something about corned beef hash that just gives my soul a hug.Last episode of s2 Mandolorian - with huge Awww, as well as some serious Eek! Plus lots of trailing threads ready for s3. Excellent!Hurrah all the things I wanted to get sent are couriered off & now I can get stuck into the Last Shopping List (Before the last one of 2020). [Completed. Joy to the world & I need tea. Shower first - the supermarket was Busy.]I wore a Christmas t shirt to the morning family zoom (we’ve not opened stockings together in Years!), husband took one look & his lip curled (he does not compromise on aesthetics at Christmas) & so I’m back in something familiar, easily washable & uneffortful.Someone’s taking pizza oatcakes Seriously. To the tune of 12 days of Christmas “four sorts of cheeses, three lots of spices, two tubes of purée & a pack of pepper salami” - if he uses All That, my next post will be from a heart surgery ward... What a way to go though! There’s a Deal? Gosh, that’s quite a Christmas present! Someone muttering “so where have we been shafted?” but living with republican leavers was always challenging. [I suggested they Read Up & now "it's all just admin" - er, not quite & anyway, never underestimate admin.]Oh, “Singin’ in the Rain” - one of my girlish treats. The chaps have looked “oh, a Musical” & disappeared. If they could move one fifth as gracefully (& I even looked fractionally as cute as Debbie Reynolds, or her daughter Carrie Fisher, or her daughter Billie Lourdes...) Ah well! I still remember far more of the lyrics than I thought, too.Family snuggled together watching Star Wars & fettling an SF ‘Weapon’ for a godfather (fine Star Wars tradition - take a [long since past ever useful or repairable] weapon & “decorate” it into a prop). Mind, earlier we were wanting to watch over Mum a bit lest she try to do the washing up etc “as the kitchen leads to temptation leads to the Dark Side...”Ah Boxing Day breakfast, “pork pie, pickle & Toblerone”... Ye gods middleson makes some interesting food choices. The shortbread has been released & Middleson has found an extra internal space...The sound of light sabres thrashing & the compressor hissing (as a prop is painted) - somehow very family. [I don’t think I ever said we were Normal?]Whoo-hoo! Whole impressive fight scene & son observes “he’s working from home!” Have to say the idea of Star Wars COVID has us giggling like loons! It is dark, cold, wet & windy. The bathroom window frame is soaked & the small hole in the ceiling is dripping into the empty quality street box awaiting it. Loudly, so I have added a single sock & am enjoying the strange relative peace.Middleson, unaware of the Fluid nature of Ammonia, managed to coat his toes & hands & was sighted jumping into the bathtub yelping. Youngest commented that he was unsurprised his brother was a “Wady in Lating” (I explained the Queen’s ladies at the coronation had glass capsules of this stuff to ward off fainting) Middleson now complaining about the smell & simultaneously scrubbing the sink & bath areas....Husband has found various songs reworked putting the boot into Trump on YouTube & one’s the Boss with Conned in the USA. There are quite a few, some with better lyricists than others, but a lot of big musicians are cooperating.Mum said we were so brave, dealing with the unendurable, but it is thanks to the love & support she & all our friends on & offline are showing, that the unendurable can be endured. We wobble but are upheld. When I count my blessings, I have to take my socks off. Just as our lad was richer than Forbes can count, so are we, just in ways the gubbyment cannot understand or tax!May the weather remain manageable, all livestock safe & appropriately confined, and courage, love strength & health to all as have need - along with warm socks & fleeces!15

Hello! Work done and work dusted!Walked round this morning as car was so heavily frosted that I thought I’d be just as quick walking as waiting and scraping! And then the same for return journey.
so I walked as the sun was rising and the crows were leaving their roosts.Quick doggy walk first thing to assess the slippy-ness of pavements before venturing on foot.Busier than I thought we’d be so we were kept going. Tips a bit meh but hey! They’re going in the jars! Start all over again.DD1 came down to meet me and walk home with me ( via bosses to drop off keys)
Cold but pretty as it was dusk when we were walking. Lovely sky and a lovely big moon.
Wonderful welcome home from my doggy. Always pleased to see each other. Now it’s time for hot shower and jammies! Have a nice night.13 -

Thinking of you this week DforV - a toughie
Pleasures for yesterday
1. A walk on Cannock Chase - along with most of Staffordshire I think. Glorious day though
2. A yoga session - been feeling very sinusy of late so not sure how it would go. I took it easy, did a gentle session and it was good.
3. Still eating yummy food - including a cheese board for lunch and roast turkey for tea
4. DS had an ok day at work - despite him stressing otherwise
5. Watched a Marvellous Mrs Maisel
And today
1. A soak in the bath with my book
2. Made soup with some going a bit wrinkly peppers - it also used up some mushrooms and tomatoes that were past their prime.
3. Did some marking - not a pleasure doing it but a pleasure to tick it off
4. The Bank holiday excuse for a g and t
5. Left over roast turkey dinner.
Have a great evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens15
