5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

No snow here either VL but yes, bbrrr cold.
For yesterday,

Had some bake from frozen pastries in the freezer so warm croissants for breakfast.

Showed some willing and made a loaf, also quick clean around the kitchen.

Fascinated by the squirrel searching our grass for his autumn stash, finally located and dug up a walnut.

After numerous recommendations we finally started watching Queens Gambit, did two episodes back to back and have to say am hooked.

Easy tea of baked spuds with cheesy beans, welcome change after so much rich food.

A white morning.  Definitely not enough for sledging tho, and now it's raining

A very quiet couple of days, and lots more on the horizon, I think.

Sorted out my craft bag and put all sparkly bits in a Christmas biscuit tin to await next year.   I also seem to have lots of  lengths of hairy string, tho I'm sure I've never bought any.   I could knit a hair shirt!

Ham used up in a risotto yesterday -one of my favourite foods.   Still some turkey left but I will freeze that today.

Think I will take cards down today and sort them out.   I usually take things down a bit at a time until only the tree is left.  I'm always sad when that goes.

Yesterday’s pleasures:
The leftovers pie was delicious and went down well with OHs parents 😊
Also  had the extra chocolate sponge with black cherries and cream I made when I did the roulade
After not finding much we wanted to watch on tv I paid to watch Last Christmas on prime. I saw it at the cinema last year and wasn’t sure if OH would like it, he did and it made me smile 😊
Unfortunately left my book downstairs last night so read on my iPad and had wine 🍷 and Baileys during the evening.  Did not get much sleep and spent the night tossing and turning so maybe no alcohol and no iPad in bed is the answer.  Shall try that again tonight 😊

Nargleblast

Yesterday's pleasures.

Walk in park with dog, sunshine, pale blue sky, frost on the grass and all over the bushes. The beauty of Nature, particularly enhanced by the sunshine.

The pleasure of opening my Clarins advent calendar and trying out the goodies inside. Pampering and self care, always good.

The perfect lunch - succulent roast beef, Yorkies, roast spuds, sprouts, carrots, green beans, gravy. Red wine. Warm mince pies with cream and brandy butter. Coffee. Grand Marnier. Shortbread and chocolate (orange Matchmakers).

On the sofa in the afternoon, reading books and listening to the radio. Idleness personified.

Lovely shower and clean pyjamas.

Caught a bit of Escape to the Chateau at Christmas, impressed to see the children eat snails and oysters (rather them than me). Loved the home made crackers, and the ice rink.

As ever, all good wishes to those struggling, especially DfV for THAT anniversary. And of course Suffolk Sue.

And heres we go again!

Sat eyeballing the oggle box last nite and theres bee a Death on the Nile! Shenaniguns! and a tad bit of skool duggary! Lemonades were taken and some cheeses were consumed!

Had poached smoked haddock for dinner last nite with mash spuds and peas. Again homemade parsley sauce was pored on the plate! Kitty went bezzerk for her dinner as well! 

Was out this day, to get the cheeses inn for the weakened. Had to post a letter card too SiL. Thirst post box was taped up!!! Watt? Second one has a sticker saying it is priority box! Poor Service? When grandad BoP was assistant post master in town in Linkshire, he collected the Town Mail by 10 am and delivered it to the town by 1 pm! No thirst class then, just a service! To boot, I ordered my socks via the spence and mark sight. Why they putt the items inn too three packages over 10 days, and it takes the mail, too days to deliver! Poor. No wander Amazon are take inn over?

On that, our local to town electrical retailer now has his buck of face profile upped, and has saved himself a good £60 a weak to the local rag as well. Seems his business is growing. He does a give away as well, as it it cheaper than the local rag advert!

Gosh does I wrant!

Now as I says posted SiL card this morning and gets some cheeses inn from the w8r5. Seems people are stupid still? Three just walked inn, no sanitise! Good job I no buy watt they touched? NO, I use the wash, gets watt I want and out, plonk items inn box and use my cleanser inn me wheels! Filled up as well! Then home and wiped the items with the kill all cloth and washed me hands!

Now has mes mug of tea, proper loose tea inn the pot. Biscuits as well, theys bee assorted this day! Tum is rubbed and bash of big bee inn watched!

Keep Safe. No report inn the morning as BoPsie has her bum check!

That reminds me BOP I haven't yet watched an Agatha Christie. Here's a lovely picture of me, DS and DD2 and the gingerbread house, shed and leftovers Christmas Day. The last wall has just been consumed by DD2 for breakfast.

Happy Twixmas!

Don't know what day it is, so recent pleasures 🤣

1. DD made Paella. Yummy, and I didn't cook. 🙂
2. Progress made with utility room organisation, but it does look worse rather than better🙄
3. Snow and full moon have made the outside more beautiful.
4. Olio success.…Saved 16 cans of pop which DS1 and his gf will take to work. This will save them using the expensive vending machines at work.

5. After dinner chat with DD, DS1 gf and DH with Prosecco and cake. 🙂

1 Phoned the vets and travelled to pick up repeat meds. Our first time out so enjoyed the drive. We had a bit of a weird one I phoned to check on the prescription and it was different to the tablets we now have Nestle happy on, so we checked and double checked, got there paid picked them up but they weren’t the same, I had to say we want the tablets he’s on which are the ones we had on us. I am guessing the records were just updated with a different but the same pill as he’s on a plain one the one they want to give is mixed. But we had to stand our ground as the thing it was mixed with gave one of our guys a heart attack last year, and we just didn’t want to risk it again, I just don’t like sounding like the pedantic customer. So pills ordered and that’s fine we get another trip out in the car tomorrow.

2 Last of the leftover mash, with grilled Cumberland’s and grilled big  tomatoes.

3 Three loads of washing done, rugs, towels, ferret bedding.

4 Portioned up the turkey for the freezer, with skin and gristle going out to the foxes, I think the foxes are enjoying the various bits.

5 About to dive into a book and contemplate evening snacks.
