Boxing Day pleasures:
its usually our family get together day so a bit sad about that .
but it was nice not to have to rush about getting everything ready or getting dressed up to go out if it’s somebody else’s turn to host.
So a lazy day although I decided to do another roast to use up the meat as we so enjoyed it on Christmas Day. So it ended up being another full Christmas dinner with the rest of the homemade chocolate and dark cherry roulade for pud!
Managed to eat quite a few chocolates and drink a few glasses of wine as well!
Not much of interest to watch on tv so ended up watching very old Fools and Horses and a delightful programme about reindeer up in in the Cairngorms who are trained to pull Santa’s 🎅🏽 sledge. Realised that I had been passed the reindeer centre on my trip to Scotland last year 😊
The storm raged later and OH had to out and rescue the whirly washing line, a garden table and broken flower tub!
Woke very early to the sound of heavy rain so am still in bed and not sure if the half anticipated walk will happen today!
Have a good Sunday 😊14 -
Good morning, pleasures for yesterday...
Going back to bed after breakfast just because I could. It's sort of a lie in (the HT claimed to be starving at 6:45 so an early start).
Making cheese and pigs in blankets toasties for lunch - I see we had a similar train of thought there Lainey. The HT said that they were the best ever.
Another day of doing as little as possible apart from making meals.
Hilarious photos from my sister of my small great nephew and his new for Christmas mini wheelbarrow helping his dad to feed the cows.
Online gaming and flix of net watching with the HT.
Take care all of you15 -
Wallow Inn!
PM2DD It has no bin sealed!
Bread and Drip Inn! Cold Turkey Asian style! Roulade! Decent Foods!
Sprouts. Not proper food!
& Kitty knows she is the top Dog, sorry God!Now for some moor BoP things!
Don't mention it DD Theatre of Fiche is on terminal care! God has legged it before bee inn sacked and I has been kicked out of farcebuck group! Oh well, not miss the kind words and sympathy, butt will miss the profanity though! Still, I am inn the forum!
Now where was BoP!
Has the usual foods loast even inn with some cheeses and wobbleades too boot. Watched Back to the Future II as well! Kitty had her treats and things! Very good end to the day of the box!
Has the usual SunDae bekfest this morning of golden roasted flakes of corn with iced cold milk. Crumpet buttered with marmite was consumed and a mug of tea was drinked!
Thens off to the w8R5 to get the new cearals and pads of brill. We has voucher for the SunDae paper and they give money off, so they end up with less of my cash inn their greasy palms! So Kitty's Protector of Cats officer and exchanged her shananigans! Offs too the A1D! for the other bits, and then home.
Is now making the batter for the Yorkshire mix. We is has the Toad inn the Hole for dinner this day! Done proper with pan gravy as well! Usual batter mix, 1 large egg, 3oz of flour and 5 fl. oz. of milk! Snorkers are butchers best pork! Three off each!
Choklates seem to be disappear inn fast! at the moment. Kitty thinks the matchmakers are her treats! Poor thing. I took her on a walk this morning too her lawn, butt it is a tad flooded. She is ok!

Pleasures for Boxing Day.....
1. Breakfast: Bacon sandwiches all round. Lunch: Turkey sandwiches....easy.
2. Started sorting out the new utility room. Reclaiming surfaces.
3. Washing is back under control.
4. Roast dinner with Pork. Smelly cheese board and lots of Prosecco, which we forgot to drink on Christmas Day. 🙄
5. Baileys and Repair Shop and Chateau at Christmas.6. No arguments 🥳Today
1. Got up early and watched Sewing Bee before anyone else was up.
2. DS1 GF has cut DD1 Hair and DH hair.
3. DD drove me to Coop, to drop off EBay sales for posting, and picked up a couple of bargains. Walk in th park on the way back.
4. DH has assembled shelves for utility. (They were bought months ago, and have been waiting for the floor grout to dry to be assembled). 2 boxes out of the hallway, and 'stuff' put away. It will seem worse before it gets better, but the decluttering has begun 🙂
5. Watching the birds queue for bird baths in the garden.
6. Food.... Breakfast: Sausages in oatcakes and egg and beans. Lunch: Christmas veg soup with garlic bread. Dinner: Leftover turkey will be made into Butter Turkey Curry...... and the fire will be lit tonight, as it will be chilly.Have a lovely evening 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. Hello
Another quiet day. Was snowing through night and again at lunchtime. It was so wild last night I didn’t put the recycling out lest it blow away so set the alarm clock to put it out this morning. Pottered around and took some Christmas decorations down. Including my tree which is now out in the garden covered in snow and looking pretty! Moved small tree from family room to where fresh tree was. I like getting it all away by New Year so start to move it bit by bit.I love getting decorations up but I’m more than ready for them to go away.Made mince pies for breakfast ! Had some left over pastry and mincemeat in fridge. Were very delicious.
all hoovered and floors washed and bathroom cleaned, this would normally be a working day so seems odd not and muddles me up with actual days!Stripped my bed and it’s half made! As in I just need to put the sheet on but I’m waiting on it drying. I di have others bu this goes with the set I’m putting on.Been reading today. New Christmas book. About half way through.
watched Escape to The chateau Christmas which was lovely.Making savoury mince pie for tea with leftover baked potatoes, RTC pastry, RTC parsnips and RTC little sausages. Just about five minutes till it’s all ready! Very cheap and cheerful.14 -
We are thinking of doing the low spend January, needed to both clear stock and steady the bank.
1 I’ve just made a leftover er pie? Without pastry, basically a bit of everything with added ham, cranberry, sweetcorn, and stock, topped with l/o swede and potato mash.
2 Argh I’ve decided I need to book tidy and read and pass on books, still keeping a lot, but aiming to half it to make some space.
3 A couple of texts exchanged with DB.
4 I’ve done a vague meal plan for the week.
5 I think there will be a small glass of Baileys in the very immediate future.

Icy outside with 4-fold rug and layers for zoom church, so didn't stay for breakout rooms. Absolutely freezing - explained online and left. Worst ever reception, too, so went inside as soon as...

1. Well, as we speak, & has teeny-tiny live score updating, top left corner of phone. Toulon 14 - Clermont-Auvergne 9 so far 🥰😋😍🖤❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤. Was 0 - 9 contre nous, il y a 10 minutes, donc......on verra. Bon,le mi-temps et ça reste, 14 - 9.
2. Tier 4 imposed from tier 2, means back to big out-the-back walkies. Oddly pink, looking East, moon rising, sun having just gone down way behind &.
Surprise chats with several peeps, but all in same vein - 'Here we are again, 9 months on and worse than ever.'
3. 2½ hours out, over 3 miles in slithery sludge and slush and mud, streams and ditches full and bulgey. & loves her shooting stick, v.necessary, and🥾. Ambulant perpendicular is desirable at a certain age 😁.
4. We startled each other, muntjac and &. He was beautiful, deep caramel and sunlit glossy, about Haggis' size, mhags:-) Gave a little bark, his gruff mating one, paused, skittered off along the brush line.
5. Ooh, 2ème mi-temps and see Toulon 17 - Clermont 9 ❤🖤, but phone now going mad and NZ calling on WhatsApp. No idea what's going on. 3 lots of ringing but hearing nothing.
Allez, allez! 20 - 9 now❤🖤.
Will be ready, as many others, for today's version of yesterday's munch, with extras, all rtc's, bien sûr😃. So, a very cauliflower cheesey thing+leek+emporium saucisses+bacon awaits.
.....now❤🖤27 - 9.....is the fulltime score. Important, because Scarlets were awarded a pretended "28-0 win" the other week, when Toulon pulled out 2hrs before the match, VERY unhappy re: hygiene, lack of covid measures, also opposing player attitudes+behaviour re:pandemic. 27-9 is good for our Top14 run😇🥰. Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in.
2) Hens had a lovely day, as the storm had blown down one panel of the greenhouse so they were merrily running round all over the allotment. One had even got out of the allotment and was on the verge! This is not ideal in avian flu times. We mended the greenhouse and put them all back in, where they had a fight as they were cross.
3) Ate quite a lot.
4) Smaller son in a jolly mood today.
5) Just caught up with the virtual pub quiz.
Rainbow from my living room. Excuse the grey steel box things, ready for the houses that are to be built directly opposite... :-(

Sorry about huge photos. First time and don’t know how to reduce them!
lovely walk in sunshine yesterday with OH around lake and along tow path
after that another lazy afternoon watching tv and eating chocolates
simple dinner of leftover gammon egg 🍳 and chips - both enjoyed it
will make leftover roast dinner pie today to use everything up. Also make one for OHs parents
Slept for 6 hours last night instead of usual 3-4 according to Fitbit. I wonder if no alcohol and reading an actual book (Escape to the Chateau 😊) instead of on ipad was why?
Have a great Monday 😊15
