fairy tale may be delayed though bop much as i love my soccer i do think they should think about suspending for a few weeks. surely now the end is in sight.
everyday is blursday. so for today's blursday mse pleasures
1) lovely email from a friend catching me up on her year - normally we'd have met up at least twice in the year but etc etc
2) walked up to mum's with dd2 and the dogs. Very slippy. DD2 borrowed car to go visit her boyfriend - this is allowed as they are a non-cohabiting couple. she restricted the visit to a one hour socially distanced walk outside - good girl. he goes back to london on sunday :-(
3) lunch and finished a jigsaw at mum's. then she poured me some wine and i continued with application number 1. this is a recognition thing for phd supervision. 5000 words in 10 sections. seemed a good idea...
4) dd2 back, had a cuppa, walked back, cooked supper to the hurchers, ate supper then got back to the applicatio
5) 10pm 6300 words hooray. will edit tomorrow. now have the warm fuzzy feeling from a sense of achievement, and a hot cup of tea from dd2.

Pleasures for today (Wednesday?)
1) A lie in.
2) Hens OK and visual proof today that the rat poison is working. (There was a plague of them again).
3) Bigger son went out with his friends this morning (all in the open air) and one of them bought him his own hammock for Christmas! They spend ages in the forest on them as they can't meet indoors. He is not back yet.
4) Did various jobs and have clean sheets on my bed.
5) A quick look round Sainsburys. Smaller son not too upset that the football match on the 1st has been cancelled (we will be in tier 3 from tomorrow and the last match was cancelled due to snow).
6) Chaos during Sainsbury's trip! I knew one windscreen wiper needed replacing but it spectacularly sheared into 3 and I then had no wiper for the 12 miles into town, as snow thawed and ran down from the roof of the car. Halfords fixed new wipers for me. I set off from there and thought I had some terrible arm problem - but had had a puncture! Changed the wheel in Sainsbury's petrol station so just have the little thin wheel on the car at the moment.
7) In bed now with 1 hwb for some television watching.14 -
Happy New Years Eve Folks,
Plans for NYE and DS1's gf birthday on 3rd Jan have all changed following new announcements ☹️
Yesterday
1. Met ex work colleague for walk in the park with our boy greyhound. Nice catch up. Realised I won't miss work, though I will miss the people. She has also decided to retire in the summer. Sad it has come to this…a cynical person would think that the CEO targets experienced, expensive members of staff and replaces them with enthusiastic, young things who burn out before they become expensive! (I am old and cynical 🤣).
2. Baked potatoes for lunch.3. A trip to B&Q with DH. Buying decorating supplies ahead of Tier 4. Visited the poorly plants section, and rescued a few half price plants. We were surprised that it wasn't busy. Everyone else must have finished their decorating during The summer Lockdown 🤣.
4. Trip out as passenger with DD to Caffè Nero for free hot chocolate and to Lidl to buy cocktail supplies for tonight.
5. Spaghetti Carbonara for tea. (Managed not to scramble the eggs).
6. We have started watching Black Narcissus. (This May just be a statement, not sure a pleasure Yet 🙂).Good bye 2020 👋🥳😘In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

DS2 moved into his house so the majority of his stuff has been moved out. He is probably going to pop in today for the rest of it. House seems very quiet and empty.
1. Help of DS2 girlfriend brother to help DS2 move. He has taken our sofa and an armchair so needed help.
2. Message from neighbour checking I was ok after DS2 had gone.
3. Looking at seed catalogues. I think it's the looking forward to spring and summer.
4. Cheese and biscuits. Eating local blue cheese which is delicious.
5. Lighting my candles14 -
Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday....
Up, dressed and off to the supermarket which was quiet as it was early. I always try to go early so that there's not many people around. Everything that I wanted/needed was in stock.
Called in to deliver a small fire to a friend. It will save her putting the central heating on late at night and heating the whole house - it's a 2 bar halogen fire which should be enough to keep her warm.
The HT came with me to another shop. He didn't actually come into the shop wth me, he waited in the car but it was lovely to have company and a chat with him on the way there and back.
Tier 3 and announcement about school arrangements were followed swiftly by an email from the HT's school who were on the ball as always. HT starts online lessons at 9am on Monday. School are so well organised that it makes what could be a stressul situation much less so.
Chat with sister via messenger just before bed time. Not long until her knee replacement op. She's been refered to a private hospital for it (Ireland) so it should still happen.
Take care all of you and my thoughts are with the DfV family.

Brr it’s cold this morning, still cosy in bed reading on here 😊
Good news re Bopsie😊
Yesterday’s pleasures:
Sunny walk with OH round another favourite lake in our local country park - so lucky to have this on our doorstep. It’s where OH works so doesn’t usually want to come with me but he has a few times whilst on annual leave
Spotted several herons and a beautiful swan 🦢 showing off with wings raised whilst gliding along.
Back home to spicy 🌶 parsnip soup topped with cream (well I’ve got to use it up!)
Rewatching Gordon Buchanan’s Bear Family and me. It was the first of his programmes we watched and it is still enchanting.
Easy supper of pizza for him and a few snacky bits for me with a glass of 🍷
Happy stay at home New Year’s Eve everyone 🥂🍾

Good news for Bopsie
For yesterday,
The moon setting and the sun rising simultaneously, beautiful.
Out to do food shopping and eerily quiet, stopped by several strings of racehorses, skittish in the cold.
Leftover pasta bake for lunch.
Bit of work for my own horse in the school, she was a good girl but think we were both glad to get back into the barn. I put her big stable rug on, fed her a parsnip then defrosted my hands in the warmth under her thick mane.
Feeling grateful for our warm home as snuggled down in bed for what was meant to be the coldest night of the year so far.13 -
