Hello. And workety work is done ...for now! At the moment no extra catering for me till Saturday! Hurrah! However if there is extra that’s fine as it’s all a bit of extra money. But it will be nice not to get up and at ‘em at 5am. Even though I’m normally awake then...it’s different to being out and about then!Bit busier today after a slow start ( after a busy start to morning doing catering stuff) tips...meh! But the coins still went in the jam jars! So, so cold here, think we managed a top of 3o currently a big fat zero! But a beautiful sunrise and the most stunning sunset this afternoon. All pinks and oranges and gorgeous.Had a cake this afternoon. A Gypsy cream. My favourite that we do.Lovely welcome home from my doggy who is feeling back to normal which I’m glad about. Don’t like seeing him sad and poorly.16

glad to hear haggis back to normal mhags
today has been one long blur of teams meetings so will need to think hard for mse pleasures
1) i made a lish lentil soup with neep and carrot in the slow cooker for lunch - very scrummy
2) and made a very nice bol for tea, made all the tastier as it was with ys organic mince bought yesterday
3) once it was all bubbling away nicely took the boys for a walk - dark and cold and a bit wet but goodness did i need it (they have the dog walker monday so weren't in quite the same need as me)
4) after supper tried some of son's charcoal cheese from his cheese advent calendar
5) finding out Doncaster has a gritter called David Plowie. made me smile.

Thanks Bala, very worried about him it's been a big impact in a short time, he's come around amazingly, the first 3 weeks he was here, he was like a tense ball, and now he's relaxed gives kisses and is trying to learn how to play with others. The thing with strays arriving is the immediate neuter cost, invariably previous owner possibly used for breeding, we keep them in with us as part of the family so have to neuter to prevent the "smell". To keep the costs down for a supposed simple male neuter we took him to a local vet and have a horrible "feeling" it may be something there, but hoping not. So now back to our normal and loved vets, who know us inside out, but its cash out, it's meant that some offers I picked up, have gone back and the money's back to cover his costs. But I genuinely have no problem with that as long as we keep funds "balanced".
They are such worries aren't they. Does your DH realise what is very bad for them, or is he working on a little of what they fancy. I remember my dog Dylan, basically got onto the table of my birthday celebrations when I was a child and ate the lot, chocolate cake and all, que a birthday at the vets.
1 Domesticy things done, fridge cleaned out, bits cooked up, washing load done.
2 Christmas cards written, some Christmas decorations down from the loft, no external ones this year, we weren’t going to bother but feel we should try and be a little festive so the half tree is going up and a few other decorations.
3 A chuck together dinner meal, leftover pork and sausage with veg.
4 DH did a lot more clearing of stuff that hasn’t seen the light of day for many years, think tape cassettes, and we still have a fax machine / phone somewhere in the office.
5 A good book
We will know more on our little Nestle tomorrow.
This is Mars, "helping" with decorations.

Monday over - always a good feeling when it's work.
1. Neighbour very kindly let the stair people in. Stairs are starting to look good.
2. Colleague at work is happier today and feels things are slowly starting to be out in place to support her.
3. Phone appointment with GP. She is changing some of my painkillers.
4. More Christmas presents brought online. Most from small businesses..
5. Chat with DS1.14 -
I hope your furry friend is on the mend, PK
Pleasures for Sunday
1. Miserable weather so an excuse to stay in by the fire
2. yoga
3. Roast beef for dinner - my favourite
4. DS got to play 6 a side footie for the first time in over a month. He finds it hard when he's unable to play and the fact that no-one could play did not help.
5. DD does not have coronavirus, having been sent home from work on Saturday and told to get a test. Fast result too, meant not too much anxiety (though i didn't think she had it)
And yesterday
1. Out for an adventure walk with OH - wasn't supposed to be an adventure but turned into one
2. the sun came out.
3. Lunch at a lovely local spot - we got cold quite quickly though once we stopped
4. Home for yummy autumn veg casserole for tea
5. Washing was hung out - didn't really dry much but i still like to get it out.
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Aw, that sweet little face, hello Mars.
For yesterday,
Very cold with thick fog again so heating on for most of the day, not exactly an OSpleasure but we did take advantage of very low oil prices in summer to fill up tank.
Made a loaf so lunch was veggie soup with warm bread.
Driving to the yard and admire the skeletal whiteness of the trees and hedges, we had a hard rime frost.
My hands got so cold grooming my girlie, some tasks make gloves impossible so oh the pleasure of slipping them under her thick mane, she doesn’t mind as long as I scratch at the same time.Easy tea of cold meat, chips and beans, one of my beloved’s favs.15 -
PK Mars is beautiful. Good luck with Nestle today. There is nothing like having a vet that knows you. They almost become part of the family. Have to confess (I think I have before) didn't realise the variety in colours with ferrets and how lovely they are as pets. And I LOVE their names.
Tiggy, for the first few weeks, kept herself to herself. I think she had been caged and 'pupped' for most of her little life. Once she realised that she could roam freely the hunt for food was on. Now that did take over a year to eradicate. It took me that long to convince her that there would be food every day. She used to gobble hers and then head for Murphy's bowl whilst he was still eating. He would just wander away so I took to standing guard over him. She would challenge me by trying to get around me but I knew I had to make her understand that I was boss.
I could give Murphy a piece of steak and then ask him to open his mouth so that I could take it back and he would. I would always give it back. But he was loved from day dot. The aggression exhibited by Tiggy was almost always over food and there were a few times that I had to separate them. Two Staffies fighting is enough to terrify anyone. I think this is why people thought I would give up.
So that year I socialised her, house trained her, lead trained her and made her feel loved and cared for. Once I established that I was leader peace started to reign. Friendships were formed. She was forever trying to get Murphy to play. And in his last days there was one day that she just lay quietly next to him. (Just brought a lump to my throat, would give anything to have him back).
Now she is my shadow. When I have had to go away for a few days neither of them would eat for the first day. Don't know what that means. Tiggy now just takes herself to a bedroom upstairs, which she never does when I am home, and waits for me to return only surfacing to eat or relieve herself. So I understand Nestle's need for reassurance. He is worried that you will disappear. He might also be thanking you.
So, ALL of my pleasures today are this trip down memory lane despite the sadness I feel over my Murphy. I have been blessed all of my life with tremendous amounts of love and affection, first from my cats, now from dogs. I'll take it where I can get it !
have a wonderful day
