Nestle is happier settled back home, after a rough night last night, his meds are taking affect but I think the dose might need tweaking up, we will see.
Bala, I hope you don’t mind albino colouring, as they are the least popular colouring but the most amazing temperament. I have a couple of face photo’s of Nestle, this him on his 6th week having discovered warm fleece bedding inside the house, and the ability to pop out to the run if he wants, they have the garden as well.
Lainey, I love all things book related, where do you tend to get the second hand ones from? I have been looking around. I have bought some pre loved ones of Amazon.
1 The tumble dryer was delivered, big hooray, but delivering it at 7am was a bit early, however it let me start getting up to date, 6 loads completed today, it’s a very quiet machine.
2 I got a big shop delivered, I’ve bought a few extra packets of whole pasta, and tinned toms which are my staples just in case of shortages, we also have rather a lot of brown rice and various flours in containers now to make sure it gets used up in the new year.
3 Ironically we still had to venture to a Mr T as the only treat Nestle takes is Lactofree cream, so putting his meds in that has worked. That and I was missing ingredients, I want to try and cook a hummingbird cake and was missing bananas a vital ingredient, that is all a purchased.
4 All the bird feeders re stocked up, with the wagtail down, the long tailed, and various sparrows
5 Just had a mince pie and watched First Dates Christmas.

PK he is lovely. Absolutely.
When I first got Tiggy she was pure white (not anymore !) with very pink eyes. The charity had called her 'Piggy' !.............I wasn't having any of that and as I sat for almost 3 hours to have her seen by a vet (lots of emergencies that day) I went through names with 2 elderly ladies waiting for their cat. Tiggy sat patiently on my lap for the whole time. Led me into a false sense of security.
As to books I tend to buy from ebay. There is a company called Goldstone books that have free postage and give 15% discount when you buy 2. Larger discount when you buy more. Condition has always been very good. Also Music Magpie. Recently bought a book and DVD for less than £4.00. Both looked as if they had never been used/read/played. Lainey, any tips ?
My Dad visited and stayed the night unexpectedly. He got lost going somewhere. He wouldn't know how to use a sat-nav. He recently got his first smart phone and he treats it as very alien. It's quite funny.........even to him. It was really great to see him, I think he is missing my brother who will be going home at the end of the month.
My Dad left me with some parsley, tomatoes, biscuits for cheese and a pomegranate. We are a strange lot, food being a constant gift. His father would do the same and as a child I guess it was boring. As an adult I see how important it was to him and what it signified to all of them as a family.
Finally managed to get to the dump which thankfully is a recycling center. The stuff had been in the car for well over a month but am learning that I will achieve more if I give OH that amount of time to mull things over. End result being that I am happy that a job has been done and as crazy as this sounds..........it was nice to go somewhere different. I do live such a wild life !
Tiggy has been off colour since she was sick. She eats but has been very lethargic so I didn't walk her today. She perked up this evening so am happy. Perhaps she has just been feeling her age with the change in weather. I know I have.
hope you are all having the sweetest of dreams

Oooohhhh
just had a great fox moment. I put out some bread soaked in chicken jelly, some of Tiggy's food that she doesn't like (mistakenly bought) and some chicken skins. Ten minutes later, almighty racket from the garden, crept into unlit kitchen to have a peek. One of the baby foxes was making this racket. When it saw me it just went and sat on the lawn continuing its' complaints. I looked at the table and its' sibling was munching away. They are so delicate when they eat.
I waited a minute then gently tapped on the window. The one on the table jumped off and the bold noisy one jumped on. just what I wanted. Am happy.

Recent pleasures:
walk in local park with friend for her birthday 🎂 on Tuesday
another friend of hers also came and we had snack lunch and a piece of birthday 🍰 outside in the cold (1 degree 🥶)
Booked a visit to the new bird 🦅 hide in our local country park. Very smart but friend wasn’t impressed at all as she said the old one was better for taking photographs
Longish walk around the lake afterwards and saw several herons and the beautiful flash by of a kingfisher 😊
OH day off today to use up some annual leave so we may go for brunch in local park and if I’m feeling brave a trip to large supermarket to look for a couple of Christmas 🎄 pressies
Have a great day 😊12 -
Hello there Nestle, you are very cute and very well named. I like to use World of Books for any specific SH books PK you can do a search by author / title etc and they make good suggestions too.
For yesterday,
Dropped my car at the village garage first thing as has been doing strange things with warning lights, windows and the central locking. Would you believe it but it was all fine that morning! They suggested it may have been down to ice in relevant parts as we’ve had low temps, no charge for checking and will take back in should it occur again.
Not a pleasure but an ouchie, running upstairs with basket of wet washing, slipped and crunched down on arthritic knee, the air was blue and dignity lost by being buried in wet clothing.
Ice packs and painkillers, say no more.
A cup of tea and a white chocolate blondie helped as well.
Warm bath with Epsom salts and reading my book.12 -
PM -Nestle is lovely. Such a sweet face.
Ouch Lainey. Hope your knee soon feels better.
Should have been haircut day. Third this year! Think how much money that has saved! Anyway, hairdresser rang yesterday to say that my stylist has injured his shoulder and is off work for a week. They've made me another appointment for next week so let's hope he is ok by then. Otherwise I'll be making some scrunchies!.
If anyone is thinking of making bunting for the garden ( seeing as that is our new socialising area) don't use red bias binding and then let it get rained on. Fortunately there's a lot of red in the material so the streaks hardly show!
Sorted out the kitchen cupboard and found a small pack of pudding rice nearing its sell by date. Rice pudding now in the slow cooker.
Happy teatime everyone11 -
Hello. Enjoying the peace and quiet before DD2 comes in in next half an hour!Woke up at 6.45am! Almost afternoon! ( not tomorrow however as had an order in so alarm needs set)
Supermarket and pharmacy for mums stuff then up to see her. Though met two of my sisters friends from years ago ( as in about 45) who I still bump into. Was chatting with them in supermarket car park and they both said that my dad was a lovely man and I said thank you and yes he was. So that was nice.Sorted out some stuff all the grandchildren/great grandchildren are sorted for Christmas. She transferred cash to me and I transferred to them. Job done! Hoovered . Washed floors. Did dishes. Emptied bins. Sighed often. Put up a wee set of fairy lights that cost £1.50 and came with batteries in the box. She’s doesn’t do anything Christmassy at all.
Lovely chat /video chat with DD1. A parcel arrived that I’d had re-directed as we missed the postie the other day. So I had to try and open that with one hand and hold phone with other. Not as easy as Instagram influencers make it look 😄
chat to niece. Hopefully we get to meet up on Christmas Eve in an outdoor venue. I’m not doing the whole have lots of folk in your house for five days thing. Though I will have all my children in my house and that will be enough ( two of them coming from different areas)
Did a bit of online shopping. Stocking fillers. Managed to source some Australian foodstuffs at a price I was happy to pay! I suppose it’s just the same as when I bought imported from UK stuff at a blooming hiked up price. Anyway I hope they make my children smile.Hoovered and washed floors. Hoovered up the staircase. Cleaned my bathroom.Spent about 10 minutes in back garden ( cold and blustery though dry) and filled my bucket with weeds and pruning. Thought if I do a wee section at a time it’s manageable.Need to go and make something for tea.Just waiting on work keys then getting my jammies on!12 -

1) ds cooked last night which was nice as had church meeting after work
2) then had a lovely catch-up with dad last night. i went for a walk without the dogs as ds had just walked them.
3) then we watched Hot Fuzz. sooooo funny. bit late for a worknight but really needed it
4) and today was my turn to cook - risotto, yum
5) then christmas zoom party. We sang 2 carols (hilarious with the time lags) then 3 people read poems then i led the 12 days of christmas with actions then we had a christmas quiz with 4 teams. and i got the only record to have 2 xmas #1s in the UK (1975, 1991, first single i ever bought!)
