Purple kitten and House elf. Good luck with your job applications. It's awful being miserable at work every day. Let's hope you both start the new year in a much happier environment 😃13

Glad you are feeling a bit better VL.
For yesterday,
Needed to do some essential food shopping, all was quiet and well stocked shelves.
Postie knocked on door with parcel and small dog shot outside expecting to see her friend but it was a young man instead, he paid her the suitable amount of attention though and said the big perk of the job as a dog lover was to meet loads.
Not so OS but parcel was a new pair of trews for me, warm, cosy navy cords, liked them so much that ordered a pair in different colour!
The temperature dropped and I could see my breath in girlie’s stable but she was warm as toast and I left her fleecy rug on the door for yard owner to pop on later if needed.
Tea was tasty salmon fish cakes with cauliflower cheese.

Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday....
Mostly painkillers. I went to a funeral on Wednesday, wore my decent boots instead of trainers and we had a very long walk to the grave. I think I need to buy comfy insoles for the boots as I was in so much pain yesterday, from my feet, right the way up to my neck. Thank goodness for the aforementioned painkillers.
The HT did all the evening jobs for me like seeing to the dishwasher, feeding the cat, putting the cat downstairs at bedtime etc.
I did manage a bit of knitting. The scarf grows ever longer (but not quite long enough yet).
I bought a patio plum tree from Ebay. Something else to make jam from when it fruits (and yummy plums just for eating too).
My computer - on days when I don't feel like doing much, there is always something online to do. It could be a jigsaw puzzle, a bit of online gaming or just reading along here when I'm too tired to post but there's always something and I never feel lonely.
Take care all of you14 -
Playing Downwind Too Day?
Another from Milford? Tomorrow on the box of Ogle!
No No No No No No No No.
I is not here hark inn on about proper foods, and seeing salmon, fish cakes and cauliflower cheese being aten. These are Proper Foods! But why has the treacle sponge? I doesn't car if it has custard, it is not on the approved food list of BoP! I knows yous news to the parish, but mum BoP used to threat that ifs I not eaten me Bored Beens with my boiled bacon, I has not treacle sponge! I did not eat me bored beens, and mum BoP always tuck away the treacle sponge. She never knew I did not lick treacle sponge as well. Got it. Now iffs that sponge has been a Spotted Richard, things would be different!
Rant Over!
Quiz Nite! Used to play in the bar of pigs years back, and always we had the prof with us! Problem was prof would be good in thirst half of quiz and wes get the flagon of wobbleade. Problem with prof, he would not be steady on his feet after a wobbleade! We always drew a defeat from a marvellous lead at half time!
Good licks on the job search! BoP gives no pig of flying these days, he is semi retired! There's no evidence for this!
Had call with the quack again about me photo at the quack centre! Has gettens me a new curse of tablets! Kitty is fine and been fed. BoPsie is recovering well! Jenny sends anotherto the needed!
Watched another thing on the flix river box last evening, Rush, about James Hunt and Niki Lauda. Very good! Wobbelades and cheeses were consumed!
Had dinner of cakes of smoked haddock, with SpagYetti! Then I has the crusted mince pie from the A1D! Very tasty and proper food for all! Now I has mugs of tea to do to keep BoP happy!
Now I has too gets Kitty ready for her football training and her flap! She is on total refusal, she just looks at it and ignores it! Will try new tactic on SunDae. Raffles used to fly off with the thing!
Short this day. Keep SafeFollow the course, it says!

Cranky, don't know why but your whole post brought a lump to my throat. So sorry for loss. The rest of the post reminded me of how when you describe your days they seem so wholesome. And always appreciative. Hope you don't mind me saying...........
PK and House Elf good luck. House Elf I didn't think that was the last you would see of the foxes. You are on their route. It depends on whether you want to encourage them or not. Mine had a feast yesterday. A long while ago OH bought a packet of mixed smoked fish so that I could make him a fish pie. For over a year now everytime I have suggested making it he said no. So I defrosted the packet and cooked the fish for the foxes. I need the room in my tiny freezer for things we do use. I also cooked Tiggy her chicken and veg so the foxes got cut up bones (I cut them with a strong secateur) and chicken skins in chicken and veg stock. All gone !
I know I sound potty but these things for someone who yearns to get out of an urban setting are almost vital. They have kept me sane and very happy. And it costs very little. I just hope my Grace managed to eat some.
Let Tiggy out at 5am this morning and it was so cold that my rickety wooden table was shinning like a diamond all ice crystalised. It was so pretty. Tiggy will get a longish (depends on my hip) walk today............or maybe 2 shorter ones as she stayed home yesterday. Her appetite is back !
I know she is well when she lies on he back next to me to have her tummy rubbed. If I stop she gives me a gentle nudge with her back feet. If i don't start up again after the gentle nudge she gives me a very healthy thump ! It makes me laugh everytime.
Have a lovely day

What ho midears, all is wonderful (it's Friday) Not that ongoing wonderful is guaranteed Met forecast rain after all) but some things have been going well.
So, OS Pleasures recently.Yee-har and boomps-a-daisy! Found Why I was struggling - missing an entire sub- directory of code. Now, copied into place & a cheerful heads-up posted amongst others, who may have been struggling for even more weeks & not understood why!Team meeting going over cases & data & what to do with the two of our team who are leaving at Christmas. One to honourable retirement, one lost to this blinking “progress”, both irreplaceable & neither having anyone to cover their work. Retiring soul has tales to tell that are wonderful & strangely I understand the vocab as I started in an area he’d moved on from.First thing I’ve Ever seen made in Monaco - a replacement bit for the loo cistern internals. So much for the glamour, the high net worth, the luxury!Don’t think husband is ”selling” a motor scooter by describing it as “driving out like a landing craft”... (mother-in-law would make a formidable tank commander...)Youngest has a moderately runny nose but declines paper towel in favour of a real handkerchief - which is a napkin & rather harsh in the delicate epidermis “but mine is that of a beetle” so my imagination doodles in insect with fabric draped over one claw & the slightly swollen reddened eyes of the cold sufferer - “but beetles have lots of eyes” points out youngest.Asked what was I going to do now (having shopped, & left it all in the car for chief of commissary to unload, decontaminate & store) I grinned “take all my clothes off” [youngest made retching noise] “and shower.”...Oh Lud, paternal parent trying to make Christmas plans despite wife & three daughters in perfect quadrophonic harmony “Wait!”. Some days he takes this “I’m the man, I have the vote” lark a long step further than is wise. It’s very worrying to think your 80-something father is trying to be a covidiot.Team zoom coincided with youngest bearing tea - this treat rendered mortifying as we were in the middle of a pub quiz & my hindbrain certainty Bruce Forsyth could only be doing Strictly got me a Very Strange Look here in my office at home...Lovely photo of elderly couple celebrating 73 years matrimony.Hurrah! Conjunction of himself planning to eBay & £1 FVF weekend! Shall take an early bath & offer help.
Frith midear, I hope you are stacking up the OSPs even if not presently posting them here. I have a poppet & a hat pin for any councillor recanting.
Ampersand, please heal, & rejoin us when the interweb permits?
So health, strength, love & courage to all as have need, huge respects to all my role models & icons on this board & let us collectively seize the day & weekend!

Good afternoon
BoP. Sorry about treacle sponge reviving unhappy memories of broad beans ( I think). Will be jam sponge and custard today ( made too much sponge for two people!). Hope that's a bit better!
So glad we went to the nature reserve yesterday. Today is cold and wet.
Went to Mark's Food shop in out of town retail park today. No queue and only normal- for- Friday busy inside. Popped to Pound shop for batteries and when we walked back to the car, there was a huge queue outside Marks. Wouldn't even have thought of going in if it had been like that earlier!I
Chilli bubbling away in the slow cooker so about to water the house plants, then have a feet up afternoon.
Happy Friday afternoon everyone

Bala thank you. I have hypermobile joints so anything that affects one part seems to throw the rest out of balance. The funeral was actually my school friend's loss (a parent) but in these strange times it's a good idea if you actually knew the person to show up and make sure that the recommended 30 people is achieved.
Bop - cats are a law unto their selves. When ours climbed over the back fence and couldn't get back I tried all sorts, including a bucket baited with prawns. She would not get into the bucket and I had to go round the corner, knock on a complete strangers door and ask if I could have my cat back. Roughly two minutes after comig back into the house the furry little pest was sat in the bucket!

Sorry - a late hilarity I had to share - there is talk of Banning Family arguments at Christmas - which has me weak with laughter.
"This will be a Different Christmas" - one without family argument? Behold, a Christmas miracle!12 -
Bop - reading all your well-meant technosis is fine - and merci millefois:-) However, Fenny lands and leccie are illiterate and intermittent. When things disappear, they are gone for good, no retrievals.
Meantime, reading how well Kitty has your measure:-))), how she's patiently training you up is a very Simon's Cat pleasure indeed🐾

1. Sore-ish times, but in desperation have somehow just managed 1-handed waist-long hairwash. Impossible to obey all strictures, but done. Now sortakinda towel-twisted up for a bit. Can't be outside for drying or tasks - cold, spitty, rainy. Frost this morning, as Lainey says.
2. Think these are the last 2 walnuts, found yesterday. Last 2 toms finished with today's little lunch.
Still have to work out way to do cakes. Even lining tins requires major lateral thinking.
3. Rafa won last night:-)🎾 So want him to win the whole ATP, a 1st for him - special bonus, defeat loathed Djokovic. Much rugby listening this weekend too:-)
4. Keir Starmer's excellent Desert Island Discs last Sunday, rpt'd this morning, on tap, free anytime, along with 75yrs of castaways:

5. Barack Obama and David David Olusoga in great, likeable, intelligent, thoughtful conversation - worth it for 'truth decay' alone....
