Ampersand - REST!!
S Sue - I think the cruellest part of this virus is that it keeps people apart. I'm so glad you and DH are still together.
VJ'S mum and Lainey - There seems to be a connection between this thread and dodgy sinuses, though I find the head down yoga poses help to clear it.
BoP - despite my good Methodist upbringing, I had never heard of Lydia. Every day's a school day!

Met DD in local park again. Fortunately not raining! Just nice to catch up once a week in person.
Finished Christmas bunting. Can't decide what to do next. Might make a tabard like Bala's! It might make me industrious!
Managed to buy some more Christmas presents, and have some ideas for the rest. Don't really want to buy everything on line but don't know if I dare risk lockdown ending in time.
Watched The Song of Names on Netflix. Was good, in a low key way.
Has been a very grey day. Looking forward to Strictly to add a splash of colour .
Happy evening everyone

Blackbeard you have made me think of something.
About 30 years ago when on my way to Rome for the first time, I read the inflight magazine. It stated that if you spent one minute viewing every piece of art the Vatican owned it would take you twelve years to complete. My mind still boggles at that.
The last time I was there I took one of my younger cousins so the Sistine Chapel and other art works were viewed. I remember one painting taking my breath away. It's main focus was the large hand holding a man tenderly. There was no mistaking that it was the hand of God and Jesus. You could feel/imagine the ascent. But in the bottom left hand corner there was a man on horseback watching. Pontious Pilot ? Don't know because cannot find information on it. Had to move quickly as were being herded single file past the paintings but am pretty sure it was a Picasso. Not one of my preferred artists but I can certainly appreciate the impact his work has had.

For yesterday,
A lie-in, fresh, brushed cotton sheets helped a lot.
Prepared some dried fruit and sugar in hot tea ready to make a tea-loaf, baked bread as well, malted flour with sunflower seeds, my favourite.
Postie came with a book, Into the London Fog by various authors, spooky reading for the darker evenings.
Awful day weather wise, got over to see the beautiful grey one but just gave her a good groom and did some carrot / parsnip stretches with her, good thing about our yard is that the horses get a decent amount of turnout, even in the winter, so she gets plenty of natural exercise.
Tea was HM pizza with winter slaw, had a glass of wine and watched Strictly, Mr Bailey is brilliant.14 -
1. Watching the woodpeckers in the garden. They look very elegant birds.
2. Did some clearing up in the garden and kept company by a robin.
3. Chat with a friend on the phone. It is good to keep in touch.
4. Went to Sissinghurst. It was good to see the garden at this time of year. You appreciate the structure of it whereas in the summer it's the flowers and plants you see.
5. Had a lovely takeaway from a local Indian. DS2 wanted a takeaway from there on Tuesday for his birthday but they are only doing takeaway at the weekend. They are normally eat in only. It was a lovely meak.10 -
Good Morning Peeps,
Yesterday I was a bit subdued.......still processing interview with Occupational Health. 🙁
1. Listed stuff on EBay. This makes me organise the clutter, get rid of stuff, and possibly make a few quid towards Christmas.......I have a bid on an item already 🥳
2. Sitting quietly reading this thread and reading The Christmas Chronicles has helped distract me from stuff.
3. Watched DD on Facebook Live performance.
4. DD cooked tea. It was very tasty, but I don't think she doubled the recipe for 7 people, so portions were small 🤣 (Noticed DS1 has ordered takeaway in the night!).
5. Took DD for Covid test at 7:30pm........ I think she has a cold.......finally managed a glass of wine at 8pm. 🥳
Have a lovely day 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

Recent pleasures:
It stayed dry for river walk with friend and her doggy
The path was closed off for footbridge repairs so we turned back and walked through the old back streets of the little town remarking on changes and shops which had remained since either of us had last walked through, probably 30 years ago!
Walked through the priory gardens and the teashop were doing takeaway so we had tea, sandwiches and 🍰😊. Her dog is a real scavenger so a bit of a pest😊
Walk down to town on Friday, fruit stall was open and more sausages from the butchers, so a bit laden down for the walk back
Horrible weather yesterday so after a few jobs in the house I had my shower and put on fresh pjs for a pyjama day and watched a film and ate some chocolates!
Chicken fajitas and wine 🍷 for dinner 😊
Have a good Sunday everyone despite the ☔️ weather 😘11 -
Good morninga all,
Pleasures for yesterday...
Managed a walk with my looked after person in the morning before the rain started.
High tide during our walk. It was lovely listening to the waves rolling up the beach and also hitting the sea wall.
Did some knitting. I'd say scarf is half finished. When it's done I'll knit a matching hat and add it to the pile.
I had porridge for dinner. It was quick, easy and filling after my looked after person went home. The HT had mac n cheese earlier.
Watched some youtube then went to bed early to read because I could.
Take care all of you12
