Hello all,
I hope everything goes well &
Pleasures for yesterday....
Half an hour of tidying up in the garden
Watching the starlings fighting over the contents of the refilled bird feeders
Chatting with my sister via messages
A quick sort through the contents of the shed. All seed packets now in one place and organised. I'm aiming to fit one empty box a week in the recycling as the amount in the shed now is ridiculous.
A couple of hours watching Flix of net with the HT and his cat.
Take care all of you13 -
Hello. An extra shift at work today. Rather busy but abysmal tips! See...no rhyme nor reason...anyway paltry amount in the jam jars.Nice dog walk this morning though I did cross the road to avoid the hoards of school kids waiting for the school bus and many did not have masks on.A man actually coughed on my arm today at work ! I’m sure he never meant it but seriously? Scrubbed it! Should have scrubbed him!We stood for 2 minutes silence before opening. And had done so on Sunday. But folk stood outside chattering oblivious.I read an article written by a local historian about when armistice was declared in our town. How all the church bells rang ( loads of churches) and the factories hooters hooted ( many factories on those days) and the children were allowed out of school early. The most amazing welcome home from the doggy! It’s alright I’m coming in! Just let me get out the car...he watches out the porch window!Time for a shower and jammies...well once I’ve put the bin out!14

It's done.
This is very slow, very messy, right-hand tippy-tapping by left-handed & to say Thankyou for good wishes and for the NHS..
Took 4 long intricate hrs this time - minute, remarkable work, for which & just feels incredibly grateful. 2 excellent informative surgeons and 5 theatre staff - all so careful and caring, though 'bone saw' is not &'s favourite mention. Innovative extras today+3 more definite bits of surgery in 1wk, 3 wks, then 6wks, for bridge and splint replacements, 2 K-wire removals.
Very, very fortunate &, despite different thuddy hurties ongoing - all explained with surgeon's insistence on & taking 4 analgesics ('brave' is counter-productive and not clever) and keeping hand+thumb elevated, doing nil.
Cease this pain-displacement blahblah, &. Again, bless and save this country's NHS.
Just hearing an absolute savaging (merited)of Maggie Hambling's supposed 'tribute' sculpture to Mary Wollstonecraft on R4, after a not Everyday Story of Farming Folk episode of Hurrchrrs.... and Ruaridh..... what's going on?
Back to Orwell and re-reading The Road to Wigan Pier... Dysfunctional correspondence with now is not absent.
Everyone - stay safe, please. About to be good and take a pill.

Ampersand, so glad your op was done, and take care with recovery. Ohh and other leftie over here also, it’s can openers that get me, and smudging writing.
1 Watching the long tails on the bird feeders, they are great to watch.
2 Spent a long time making sure our trip out was essential, and I think we got pushed out of the door by the pets as it’s part of their food that’s not deliverable. It was fine it was also on offer but we didn’t even know that until it was paid for always a lovely surprise lots of offers hidden on things we purchased only visible when we paid for them on the receipt. It was nice to see the 2 minute silence mainly observed.
3 A weird food day, just not really hungry today/tonight, so we had some chicken pieces and half a garlic bread.
4 Back with their food and other bits, then spent a long while time chopping it up, then portioning it up back into the animal food freezer.
5 It would seem meal plans are made to be broken at the moment, the fridge seems rather full.

Glad all went well & and please do as they tell you. Rest and painkillers...as someone who’s not very good at doing either myself sometimes you realise actually it’s what’s needed!Doggy at my side and just contemplating what’s to be done today. To be a dry day ( according to the weather app...never a reliable source) so hope to get out in garden for a bit. Have a few more bulbs that need planted.Have a lovely day everyone.11

Ampersand look after yourself and obey instructions from your doctor.
1. Colleague who didn't get the deputy head post has been given an extra day to develop the service she has started. I am pleased for her. She deserves something going her way.
2. Work was ok but at a different site.
3. Read more of Christmas chronicles - needed to catch up.
4. Text messages with a couple of friends.
5. Finally (I think) decided on the paint for downstairs. Myself and DH liked very different colours.15 -
Best wishes to &, Frith and Sue
Recent pleasures:
Different walk at a local place. Lovely but muddy! Saw some (16) gorgeous piglets 🐷 think they maybe an Old Spot/Tamworth Cross as they were ginger with spots!
Another walk with a friend- didn’t walk far as it was too uphill for us, but lovely lake and takeaway fish and chips on the picnic bench!
Meeting another friend today for a doggy walk along a river.
Watched Repair Shop for the first time, quite enjoyed it, can see why it might be addictive.
Enjoying nice food at home but putting on weight, it’s very easy to add goodies on my click and collect 😊
Have a lovely day everyone16 -
Good to hear all went well & and three resounding cheers for our NHS, now do as you are told, rest up and keep that pain at bay.
For yesterday,
A copper carpet of beech leaves on our grass, must get that rake out soon....but it’s so pretty.
Placed an order for books, not exactly OS I know but in my defence they are secondhand, including a collection of ghost stories and a yet unread Christie, perfect for winter evenings.
The sparrow squadron coming down as one for a drink in the bird bath, dipping in time.
Making a small batch of sultana scones so we could have a sweet treat with an afternoon cuppa, no wonder beloved wants to keep working from home.
Covering small dog with her blanket at night, an every day ritual and her contented little sigh gets me every time.17 -
Lainey, knew someone who had a Jack Russell that when he was told it was time for bed he would jump on the couch, lay his head on the pillow and they would cover him with a blanket. It was so sweet to watch. Can see why it makes you feel lovely feelings.
My Murphy used to sometimes ask to go upstairs to bed so I would abandon TV, grab a book and a cuppa and up we'd go. Sometimes I rebelled !
Hugs to all

According to a lovely poster I am Bala the Brave who wrestled a Tiger. You know who you are.....
I HAVE A GOLD STAR and A MEDAL and a Title !14 -
Good news, ampersand. you rest easy.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. OH went to fetch our click and collect order to limit time in supermarkets. I cleaned the kitchen while he went so it was easy to organise it all and put it away.
2. We went for a loooong walk. "it's five miles" said he - like hell. Turned out to be 7.5 but most enjoyable and one we hadn't done before around a local-ish reservoir
3. Lunch on a beach - ok it was at the reservoir, but a beach is a beach. I took a 'smorgasbord' of egg, cheese, apple, tomatoes and a treat of some crisps
4. Lockdown rules apply so gin!
5. we ditched the fire hazard lamp in the local tip - for once within a week of it busting, rather than letting it hang around for months. I just didn't want anyone taking chances with it.
Have a good day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens16
