Hello everyone,
Pleasures for Sunday,
Did as little as possible, knitted a fair bit, made a roast dinner, stayed in my pjs until it was time to have a bath and put clean pjs on then did online gaming.
Pleasures for yesterday....
I went garden centre shopping for some seeds and other bits.
I bought a stand for our wonky bird table. Trying to put a spike in clay soil was never a good idea but I didn't know you could buy stands until I saw them yesterday.
My sister taking the advice I gave her about budgeting and starting to write down her income/outgoings instead of just hoping that she has enough money to pay bills. I hope she sticks to it.
HT coming home from school in a much better mood than when he went in.
Time spent with HT having a chat. Me in his bed with the cat and him playing a computer game but one that didn't need a headset so we could talk. Keeping the lines of communication open as ever...
Take care all of you14 -
Pleasures yesterday....
Walk with dog, as ever she loves the simplest pleasures, sniffing around, chasing the ball. Gets me out in the fresh air too.
Fabulous Choir rehearsal, just started Like a Prayer - a long song but it's going to be a cracker.
Received my copy of Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles in the post. I see a number of people have the same idea of reading it through the winter season, as a way of connecting with the season.
The news that we might, just might have a viable Sars-Cov-2 vaccine ready to roll out. Fingers crossed.
A calming lavender-scented wax melt and radio 2 in the background yesterday, as I read the first bits of my new book.
Watching an interesting film last night with my son. A Korean film with subtitles, called Parasite. Dark, disturbing but with humourous bits and good characterisation.
Catching bits of Joe Biden's speeches. The President in Waiting seems so much more statesmanlike than the President in Hiding. Long may it last. One life - your life - live it!15 -
Take a lump of sugar?
Last pair from Donna!
& Did you find the bucket of gold?
Oi Frith. Plug inn your 'putah!Just to clear things up!
Seems the vaccine is nearly ready? Mmm, still no vaccine though for SARS? Now that is going to upset the locals inn Stroud! They are dead set against the vaccine? Well I suppose most did not take the sugar lump for polio when they were young, or suffer from mumps until 7? Ignorance is not a choice, but a lifestyle?
DD shud bee out of another tin pot by CoP today. I hope Ollie is doing what Lawrie did, get them on the beach and running! Grrr. Cannot have the rust buckets getting close!
Just bin to the quack centre for chest photo. All done and sent to Drs. While there, entourage came in for a photo. Receptionist said only one. They played mary L. Security came and escorted off the premises! Why do people put others at risk Sorry, I will reword that. Why are they such ...
Now back connected for an while too the Docks. Work is nearly done.
Kitty was inn the yard when I came home. I has given up further flap training for now! It is propped open now so she can get inn and out. When it is closed, she gets right up too it and then just ... Blessed Moggie! We just fed her and pay her vet bills!
Time to reflect what you have, not get everything you don't want! Keep Safe. What did you make of that?

House elf.- It's awful when you dread going to work. Is part time a possibility until you can retire?
Bala - What a pretty little cat. I do wish I wasn't so allergic to them!
Ampersand - Fingers crossed all goes well.. Chutney is very impressive!
I thought I was going to report another foggy day today but about 10 am the sun came out, and now it's lovely and warm. All this fog tho reminded me of when I was a child in Leeds. Then we did have fog! We were taught to walk home from school trailing one hand along garden walls and hedges so we didn't wander into the road. Unbelievable to imagine now. Pre clean air act of course.
A day of sorting. Medicine cabinet for one thing. Threw out some out of date medications. I don't bother with dates on food much at all, but do on tablets over a year old.
DGD (12) sent home from school yesterday to isolate for a fortnight. She's fine but someone in her group tested positive. She's a very sociable child so she's miffed that she's stuck at home!
Might do some ironing now - or maybe not!
Happy 🌞November day everyone

Thanks Happycass. Glad you had a sunny day. Hope it continues.........
Billy is the son of Suzy. The Cypriot side of my family love to call their cats Suzy. I am sure there have been 3 in my lifetime. There was one that used to swipe you when you walked past. We were afraid of her but my Aunty loved her. All my cats were sweetness personified !
This Suzy was ferral/wild and my Uncle befriended her. He has always had a way with animals. My Murphy was besotted with him. This Suzy has the most exquisite markings but is camera shy. She had 4 kittens but only 2 made it. Billy looks most like her.
I am so pleased for my Uncle (the one who has been in and out of hospital) as animals are great for so many things on so many levels. Their lockdown in Cyprus is more strict than ours and I worry about him being lonely. Still, my other Uncle manages to visit daily I think. And I text daily. Am sure others do too.
Now, this is a huge pleasure and it happened under your very eyes.................I UPLOADED a photo !
(Well, sort of..............)
I messed about with this wonderful thing called a computer determined to win. And in a sort of fashion I did. Will I remember what I did...............probably not...........
Have a cuddly soft evening

That little Billy, Bala ❤, what a cutie!
Are you a Simon's Cat fan? Billy and Miss KH can watch together:-) New one again today.
1. Hometown Napier flooding, even in grauniad, so big early hours checking with family. Actually alerted by an NZLP msg, which was good!
All ok, but more rain and landslides expected. Cousin's replanting of native trees has probably stabilised hillside and cattle are ok.

Had friends up Main Street, very vertical! - very old original area . Hate to think what the Botanical Gardens will be like after this.
2. Last Wednesday's double rainbow over Town of Gown was just so special, so spectacular. Bop can laugh at &'s mishap filming:-)....except it doesn't want to download.
3. 2 more hospital calls. Bluntly, today's agony is worst yet, ongoing and unrelenting, so happily said 'Can't wait!', when answering Mrs Nice Lady. Setting off 0530 - 0600h. Again won the 'Who is bringing you? Who is driving you home?' / 'Me. No-one else. Not necessary. Definitely not!' exchange. Know they have to do it, but really NO!, thankyou.
4. 4 Christmas puddings done.
5. The Special Son of Frith Wooden Spoon of Workety Work resumed with relish today, lit. and fig. New stick blender needed to complete job. Will purchase post-thumb biz tomorrow. It's been a renewing month. New beater as well. Both basic, but replacements finally needed after umpteen years' service.
5 jars filled with yesterday's GT ketchup.
6. Heard this by chance and it mainlined deep into &'s viking veins!

Loved, loved, loved it - long a fan of Misha Glenny, too. Was back on that extraordinary Øresund Bridge, which was such a surprise when & saw it. Hadn't been built when & first travelled to her Danish Great-Uncle Axel, in the ubiquitous fitted out Bedford van, early 70s. Was voyaging for 3 Spookymen's Chorale Dansk gigs at that time, 2018:-), as per post passim.
Misha exactly articulated what & felt when down at lapping water's edge at a particular spot.....Roskilde. But & also feels same standing in the plashy little waves on Petone foreshore, where her other European forebears arrived in NZ, on the 2nd boat, also long ago....

Happycas said it, house elf, re: your work.
Do hope we hear from Frith soon....concern from us all, I'd say.
Bop - now, you've waited most patiently for &'s birthday wishes. Here they are:-)🍷🥂🍾 better late than never, I hope. Pour yourself another wobbleade:-) Hope today's ❤ biz was tickety-boo.
Suffolk Sue - repeating 'thinking of you' is not mere mantra((())) Mhags expresses it so much better, always.
And DfV, 🤲....thankyou.

Take care everyone.

Hello. Oooft it’s hot upstairs. Had heating on to dry off washing however it’s actually quite mild outside and I’ve been hoovering and washing floors so I’m roasted!A nice day off which I’d expected to work so was delighted not to be ( is that mean?)
Nice-ish walk this morning. Was dry at that point.
went to vets to pick up dog meds.Went and got two new front tyres. Been on the to do list past few weeks though haven’t driven terribly far. Back ones will do a while yet so that’s good. Nice chaps that did the job.Nipped to supermarket. Now I could have gone to the one opposite tyre place but know I would have spent more than necessary so took my club card vouchers and went to usual schmusual where I know where everything is ! £8.50 off.
Got a bunch of RTC gypsophilia so revived a bunch of orange roses DD2 bought me last week.Friend called me.Made spag bol for tea.Had a snoozette late afternoon.Downstairs is tidied ( sigh again! )
changed my bedding ( hence heating on and trying to dry) and hoovered my room so a tad tidier. Have a pile of Christmas presents for the great niece /nephews that needs sorted into bags. They’re annoying me now!I’ve been in touch with Frith and she’s okay. Just concentrating on her boys just now.Right Holby is back on tonight ( which I’m sure Frith will be watching too) so I’m going to watch that then catch up on GBBO!15 -
Thanks, re: Frith, mhags:-)
