Hello from the slough of despond! Not me, the weather. Fourth misty murky day in a row.
However, walked to the village to pick up prescription. Brief patch of sunshine on the way there. Chemist is now super organised - one good thing to come from the pandemic!
Sunshine went away very quickly but it's still warm. Amazed how many plants are still in bloom, spotted in gardens on way home.
Cutting out bunting triangles this afto, to use up left over bits of Christmassy material from other years. Will be cheerful and free. Very MSE!
And tea is leftovers. Oven veg and chickpea bake, bit of chicken fajitas and some sausages. Will be lovely, I'm sure! And MSE again.
Happy misty day everyone

Hello. Back again with another days work under my belt! Hurrah...and now only doing one extra shift instead of two ( double hurrah!) so I’m off tomorrow instead of working.
Another not crazy day but excellent tips for the amount of customers! It doesn’t always match...you could have loads of folk in but not necessarily generous! Today they were! All in the jam jars.
Had a leftover baked potato as an actual baked potato! With cheese and some leftover salad for my tea. Brought some scones too. Which is very rare on a Monday as they’re usually all eaten first thing. Anyway boyo eats them up.Lovely hello from my doggy. Ordered his very expensive meds from the vets. Hopefully will be ready tomorrow. That’s about it for today...baked potato and tips!13 -
Last week I bought a bunch of pink roses for an elderly lady that had allowed me to take some boxes she was getting rid of. Her and her husband traipsed up my road (twice !) to deliver a thank you card but they got the number wrong. So they were thanking me for thanking them !
They are a lovely couple, I had chatted with them a few times in the summer. Now we are on first name terms. It's in the same road as the man with the damaged car so in a short space of time have got to know 2 sets of (one road removed) neighbours.
Had a chat with Flo (well, I sing-songed) as I shared my croissant with her. It still tickles me pink when she turns her head this way and that........as she seems to listen to me.
The chairs that go with the rickety garden table are now broken up and in builders bags ready for the dump. Hope to go tomorrow with some other things.
Feel as if I have been productive today and even managed to buy really really reduced packs of ham..............for my foxes !
Have a lovely warm evening

1 So pleased for DH, I took him to hospital today for a booked in apt, they showed the MRI which shows his shoulder in very clear pieces, they can’t wait to do the operation, they explained all involved no movement for 6 weeks more likely 12 weeks. Apparently the security guards where commenting on how smart the lights on my car look, (my car is very lit up). DH full of praise for the place and vastly looking forward to his repair, thou I am trying to think of things to keep him happy for 6 / 12 weeks.
2 A really good take away offer came through so we are ordering in tonight, local independent as well, it's just been and gone it was lovely and baking hot.
3 While DH was in I popped across to B&M, stocked up on condensed soup, and ferret treats, and it was nice to cheer up the checkout person.
4 I had meal planned but it was very uninspiring, so I replanned and changed them up from being stuck in a rut it’s now mixed up.
5 Using the Disney channel to watch older takes, last night was the rescuers, tonight it’s the 1940s Pinocchio.

& is self-isolating, 3 days, after yesterday's covid test, as required prior to Wednesday's repeat plastic surgery. Less 'fingers x'd', than left thumb of left-handed & sorted, hopefully.
On verra.

1. Another hoping Frith and sons, plus rest of family, are ok.
Gift of wooden spoon carved by son has been very busy today -
2. 5 kgs of green triffids dealt with in stages shown, stirred with said special spoon:-). Top pic: 2 hrs' sieving😕 after 4hrs' slow simmer+o/n leaving. Most arduous, but just kept going. Middle pic is now. Bottling in morning.
3. Still days with sun and interesting skies. But last week's double rainbow really was the business. Will & tempt fate?
Was in Town of Gown after sudden lucky last Kettles Yard visit. Have vid. too. It was an amazing double horseshoe, arcing high.
4. Up all night with msg'g+wotnot galore, cross'lantic, both hemispheres, all friends :-) and techie things actually working in & notspot, willing Joe and Kamala over the line. Georgia's January re-run for those 2 vital 💙💙 Senate seats is essential. In the meantime, Jacinda's 🇳🇿🌹landslide cabinet is extraordinary: truly fit for purpose, rich seams of talent and diversity. Realistically hopeful, especially with life as near normal as pre-pandemic, with wise, strong border controls.
5. 5live Extra afternoon cricket commentaries really helped with repetitive chop+prep of last green toms, beans, aubergines. Overnight salting now. Chutney tomorrow. Last mowing done yesterday. Some judicious pruning. Most walnuts now gathered. Apples ditto. A final fig or 3 is suddenly having last plumping and purpling. That still leaves over 100 greenies. There's yet another boozy recipe for dealing with those....:-)

Good morning Lovely People,
&: Thank you for the pics of your adventures with preserving and rainbows. I hope the op goes well. 🙂
Yesterday,
1. Woken extra early by dog alarm, so had a little snooze mid morning.
2. DS1 and 2 helped DH to dismantle the trampoline. It was a bit fraught. Especially when DS2 stood in dog poo! We have an uninterrupted view down the garden again, and can make a decision on wether to put it back on EBay in the spring. At least I am not constantly reminded of the huge waste of money it has been 🙄
3. Put some strings of solar lights around the arch in the garden.4. DS1 and his GF cooked fake Nando's for tea. A great success!5. Watched O Brother, Where Art Thou..........George Cluney 😍.Phone calls with work, and a pension seminar were depressing........I don't want to go back to work, it was just too stressful, but my pension is not good enough to let me retire. 😱Have a lovely day 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. Not got round to posting for a few days
For Saturday
1. Zoom call with family as it was my sister's birthday.
2. Lovely weather so in the garden. More bulbs planted and areas tidied.
3. The lovely pink colour of quince jelly.
4. Speaking with a neighbour.
5. Watched The greatest Showman for the first time. Not sure why it has taken so long.
For Sunday.
1. Chatted with neighbours. They were back from holiday.
2. Helped DH in the garden and he cut down a couple of dead trees.
3. Got round to putting wood preserve on a hence and fence posts. The posts had never been done. Not too much of a pleasure that my neighbour that side started swearing at me for doing it. It's done now.
4. Had lunch outside - only a sandwich but good to eat in the fresh air.
5. Watched strictly.
For yesterday
1. Another day over at work. It was a strange day. Newly appointed deputy head spoke to me more than she had done for the last 6 months. She was being very nice - interesting to see how long it will last for.
2. Fire alarm went off at lunch time when I had gone out for a walk which was good. It was due to burnt toast as usual.
3. DS2 cooked a stirfry. It was very good.
4. Enjoying my new book.
5. Watched Only Connect15 -
& I hope everything goes well tomorrow and we can all cross our fingers for you!

Hoping all goes well for the op &.
For yesterday,
Dropped car off early doors for full service and MOT, garage in village and usual cheery welcome.
Borrowed beloved’s and went to see the beautiful grey one, it’s a lot bigger than mine, a fact I’m liable to forget as I sling it around a corner!
Mine ready with no problems and bill not so ouchie.
Watching NL’s latest cookery programme, laughing at mashed fish fingers apparently being a thing, who knew!
Pulled down my copy of Merry Midwinter off the book shelf and used it for bedtime reading.15
