Pleasures for today....
Waking up at leisure, knowing I have four days off, after three busy shifts in four days.
Beautiful sunshine most of the day. That wet stuff may be handy for the garden, but too much of it can be depressing.
Lovely walk in the park with dog.
Lunch of salmon en croute, mustardy mash, peas, cabbage with fennel seeds. Dessert was sponge cake with lemon curd and buttercream, served with blueberries and cream. Coffee to follow.
Parcel of hand made soap received from friend, she has surpassed herself this time. Problem is, what do I keep and what do I give as presents?
The doorbell just went - my Ringtons Christmas hamper has just been delivered. Some of it is treats to be enjoyed, a couple of items will be donated to the food bank, some of it will go into Christmas presents. Another thing ticked off the list.
One life - your life - live it!13 -
Hello. Day off number two ! How lovely.
Up early.Lovely doggy walk , we met our new puppy friend and had a chatter. Then met friends mum and had a chatter. Then went a walk down the woods with DD2. It was lovely. Our first proper bright day in what seems like ages. So much rain this past week. Lovely wander. Trees stunning and a stomp through piles of leaves. River was so high because of all the rain. Met two sets of people we knew so had nice chatters with them. Met a lovely puppy too. When we were chatting there was a tiny shower of rain although the sky behind us was bright blue and just about 10 feet away was a rainbow, going from the pond to the river. Almost touchable!Did a bit of tidying in the garden. Pruning, weeding, clearing. Hopefully get a bit more done tomorrow. Came in just before a tiny shower of rain.Washing out and almost dried.Making a lasagne for dinner with mashed potatoes and peas. It’s just been nice being home today and walking round our woodland.12 -

sleep well 💤

15 hatter goals in 40 appearances bop And rather more for the mariners
thanks for the simon’s cat beginnings ampersand
didn’t post yesterday cos bit of a day. Sheriff’s clerk phoned back - as ex never got an interim grc it was indeed the correct form (I think her diversity training hadn’t extended to difference between gender reassignment and a gender recognition certificate) anyway sheriff has confirmed all good and stat Dec not needed. divorce will take about 6 weeks so maybe the end of 2020? All in all a strange old year. For today
1) good morning’s away day, albeit online. Great to spend a morning as a team sharing our work and planning the next year development-wise. As I’ll be writing the next periodic review (2022) also good to see things that we’ll be writing up
2) colleague putting red hot chilli pipers on during coffee break
3) another colleague had posted me a congratulatory gingerbread man
4) after work walked up to mum’s with the dogs as dd2 wanted to borrow the car to go to the gym
5) after shepherd’s pie (thanks mum) we watched autumn watch together. And Luton won - back to 9thMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
25 for 25: 371 / 625
declutter: 173 / 2025

1. Work okay at other site so normally is. People tend to work as a team there with some give and take from all.
2. Felt pleased to get home and almost still light! Could see the fence and trellis that next door have out up. It looks ok and gives us more privacy. I think it may be stopping their cats coming into my garden.
3. DS2 went for a sports massage/oestopath appointment and he is feeling sore but can almost touch his toes which he hasn't been able to do in years.
4. DS1 went for a meal with his girlfriend. Meal wasn't great he said but enjoyed the evening.
5. A very mishmash of meals with leftovers being eaten.12 -
You ok Frith?
For yesterday,
Bbbrr cold but sunny start, good to see the sun.
Worked equine girlie in school and she was fab.
The silver strands in her mane when the sun shines on it.
Took advantage of a discount code and ordered case of various wines, pleasure was extra gift of two miniatures in box, one gin and another of whiskey.
Getting some questions right on Only Connect and then watched Ambulance, heart rending as always.12 -
Good morning
Dry and bright so far
Have spent the last couple of days tying up loose ends.
Afternoon tea at nearby posh hotel finally sorted. A Christmas present voucher from DS. First booked for late March - lockdown! Then booked for next week - lockdown! Beginning to feel it's all my fault! Anyway, rebooked for Tuesday and made it! Very nice it was too.
Shopping for DH birthday present which falls mid lockdown. Sorted but town was very busy. Glad I didn't want anything from Primark. Longest queues ever to get in.
To market to see favourite butcher and stockpile a little. He's going to start delivering again next Friday.
DH went to Wickes to buy boring things. Favourite fish and chip restaurant is across the road so he nipped in and booked us in for tea last night. The last (fish) supper!!
So now all done and dusted. Ready for anythjng! ( Hope I don't regret saying that!)
Happy Thursday everyone12 -
Burst into tears yesterday. Uncle in Cyprus not doing well. Appetite gone. The good news that my Dad is NOT going over there (he was looking for flights) and I got a text this morning from my uncle reporting that he had eaten.
My brother told me yesterday that Flo had been knocking on the window. After further investigation apparently she does this almost everyday with her beak full of food. He forgot to tell me !
This is my greatest pleasure...............my brother is here for the duration of lockdown. It takes work and pressure off my Mum. My parents continue to send money for him but to be honest I can manage. He doesn't cost that much and he is a pleasure to have around. It takes convincing to get him out of the house but this week he has accompanied Tiggy and I on our walks. I think it was 2 days ago, the sky was blue and the air crisp, he volunteered that he had enjoyed being outside. He still wears his mask in the street and pulls his hat so far down that you can only see his eyes but if that is what it takes.............so be it.
Just feeling very grateful.
Hugs to all
