For yesterday,
Up early after a rough night so that first, very welcome, cup of tea along with small dog cuddles.
Beloved coming downstairs looking like Stan Laurel, he had his hair cut Friday and it always sticks up when it’s short, made me giggle.
Had forgotten to get any meat out of freezer for lunch so he picked up a Mr Sparks steak pie when filling up car, very tasty with loads of veg.
Visit from young people, won’t see them for a while as youngest & lovely gf heading North for job reasons, beating Thursday’s deadline and who knows about the festive season.
Not sure about a 5th as feeling down about the above.13 -
hugs suffolksue and all others in need.
1) early church followed by a huge latte in Costa. I love the mug with its two 'ears' and wondering if they'd sell me one for soup!
2) another good shop at mrl - remembered to leave food bank items till last so they were on top for putting in the collection point
3) suggested to gbf we went to mennies for lunch as it may be some time till we can meet again (unless we meet outside walking the dogs - he's tier 3 we're tier 2) and we had delicious toasties - sourdough bread, scottish cheese, nigella relish - and pots of tea
4) mr geography and Dr no came in to watch the newcastle / everton match. gbf has Noooooo interest whatsoever in football but kindly agreed to stay - even got him supporting the magpies since he'd worked there for some years. turns out dr no also packs first a travel kettle and teabags when he goes abroad - sigh - but he has no truck with Alexa and was disappointed to hear i had one hahahaha
5) then we picked dd2 up and went to botanics for a cuppa and cake - again last one for a while, though maybe gbf and i can still meet outside for walking round the botanics (the gardens are in tier 3 - i hope you're keeping up, there will be a test!)
and the evening was ended happycas with making and drinking the first cup of Christmas Chronicles hot apple punch. I have located preserving jars (admittedly currently full of lentils of various colours) so tonight going to make the apricot drink.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hello Caroby. Nice to see you.
Oh heck MHagster. Sounds like a bad day. Hope today is brighter for you.
D Doll. Funnily enough, I've just made a shopping list of items needed for hot apple drink. And thinking some of the brandy could then be used for apricot, orange and anise liqueur. DH is very much in favour of my new book!
Today
A trip to Aldi. Very quiet and no obvious gaps in the shelves. Did a bit of mini prepping, e.g. tinned tomatoes, chickpeas etc but didn't go mad. We only live in a little house so nowhere to store loads.
Trip to garden centre cafe ( last for a while) and bumped into our bubble friend so had a good natter.
A beautiful cyclamen. So much loveliness for £1:50!
A beautiful sunny autumn day.
Happy autumn everyone

Yesterday
1 Yoga with Adriene on youtube! Never seen it before but free and helpful for my lower back problems!
2 DD got on with her revision without nagging from me, she has an exam on Fri ... But she is not very motivated in general as not a natural academic!
3 This is Us binge fest on TV
4 Looking at a medium sized dog curled up as small as she can to fit herself on a small footstool without falling off, she is a funny girl. She has a perfectly good cosy big bed!
5 Quorn Korma cooked by my DD for dinner was lovely12 -
The lady that has the most beautiful drive festooned with potted plants (and also plants around the street trees) has a wonderful husband too. To cut a long story short.............OH bashed his wing mirror and it smashed. Being a high end BMW it was going to cost around £500.00 to replace through BMW. The husbands final bill to us was £115.00
His friend is a mechanic so did the work for very little and they sourced the replacement glass (very specialised, it has a liquid in it) from somewhere other than BMW. They have been so lovely about the whole thing.
Tried the Jack Monroe recipe (Chicken, mustard, cream). Although it tasted lovely and I followed the recipe exactly, the sauce needed to be a bit thicker. Perhaps I should have let it reduce for longer. Have never used cornflour with cream.
Wildlife all fine. Tiggy is Tiggy.
Feeling really tense today. Too much on my shoulders including sorting out all the damages to other people's cars. Sorry to moan but am at the end of my tether. Something has to be done but am flummoxed. Won't listen to me or anyone else and takes no responsibility.
I am absolutely going to leave once I've won the lottery !

DD2 had ended up being her granny’s errand girl this afternoon so he was home alone and very happy to see me!Going to make chicken pie for tea and enjoy some RTC sprouts...that’ll be just me then! Hi, thanks for the welcome 🙂
Harder to think of 5 things today, didn't fancy a walk in the wind and rain, would've gone anyway a few months ago but had to say goodbye to our dear old dog. We miss her so much still.
Did some shopping, glad there were loo rolls, was half expecting empty shelves. Cleaned the cooker (a tiny pleasure I guess once it was done), enjoyed wasting time playing Zen Koi 2, cooked then scoffed dinner, followed by coffee and a little HM cake, want another now but DH had the last one, again.
