Busy day
1. Met a friend for coffee. We hadn't seen each other in ages so caught up with all the news. Pleased we managed to meet as will now be a month before we can. Spent 5 minutes chatting by the door to wait for the torrential downpour to pass.
2. Both sons came home absolutely soaked - one had gone for a run and the other had played golf.
3. Tidied some of the shed - listening to podcasts. I threw our a fair amount of rubbish.
4. Good journey to London by train. It was quiet. When walking in London some areas were busy but had an excellent meal in a small French restaurant. Staff were very good.
5. Did some Christmas shopping as won't be going anywhere for a while. I hadn't planned on doing any.
6. Went to watch Allegri Misiere (probably spelt wrong) with DH. We both enjoyed it and was lovely seeing a live performance.. It felt very safe and very socially distanced.12 -
For yesterday,
Postie came with another parcel and smiles that it wasn’t raining, the Persephone biannual catalogue also arrived, very fortuitous given the news later.
Over at the yard, children turning up for riding lessons dressed for Halloween, funny to see a small witch, complete with stripey tights and fake leaves stuck to her hat perfecting a rising trot.
Leftover snorkers heated up and popped into a sandwich for lunch.
Skies cleared for an afternoon walk and then we watched the Samhain full moon rising, toasted our ancestors.
Simple tea of baked potatoes and cheesy beans.13 -

For little ducks!Suffolksue said:Love the curtains BoP!Back off the yard!
Here goes for another dollop of BoP! Juts done the pud and cake for xmas! Now I is thinking, as the mixed spice is a year out of date and the nutmeg has too years to go, then ifs I mix them, they be in date! No problem. BoPsie licked the spoons! As per 1982, no brandy was used, just bourbon! Now the pud is steaming and the cake is in the oven! Details on the seeping shortly!
Watched the conclusion of Nixon in China opera last nite. Very good and free. Is on the Apple TV app thing! Wobbelades and cheeses were consumed. Kitty had her treats!
Kitty was worked out yesterday on the football thing and nearly got it right! Butt she is clearly muddled at the moment, Think I has too bring foreword her flap training. I am trying her on the gooners later!
Has not ventured out today as I think the doomers will be on the bog role gathering! I prefer to ... No, do not start, we has three johns and they has the bog role. Just that I cannot be ... Besides, I has mes pud and cake top cook!
Had a miss mash brakefest of snapple rices and buttered marmite crumpet. Tea and orange juice was drunken.
Now has me elevenses bit late with Battenberg cake and a wafer!
Keep safe, and DD, Deal with them cobwebs! BoP is doing the rounds at the Docks inn the morrow, so maybe a late BoP post!Looking at where it all is?

House elf - What a treat to have DS back home for a while. You sound so pleased!
S Sue - Hope you are still keeping your head above water. Still thinking of you and wishing I could do something more useful than just thinking.
Started watching Rebecca last night. It feels a bit too nice, not really dark enough. But I shall persevere as the settings and outfits are delightful.
Struggling to think of a present for DGD for Christmas. She's 12. Too old for toys ( she thinks!) too young for make -up etc ( we think!). Will probably be jewellery, but even that doesn't seem easy!
1st November. Can start reading Christmas Chronicles! Been really good and not peeked.
And as it's now raining, I think I will do that right now.
Happy November everyone

Hello. It’s dark and wet and windy but I’m in for the night so it doesn’t matter.
workety work day number one done. I was very unsettled this morning following a weird night sleep ( or lack of) and a horrid dream ( me on a Covid ward, waiting on testing, nurse said she needs a hug , I said I need to go home as my husband is terminally ill...then woke knowing that he’d died. So woke crying and it set my day offside. And another first of the month that always throws me anyway.Anyway dry walk with doggy before work. Then listening to radio at work and some music came on that I want played at my funeral and that set me off crying again! Then colleague came in and I told her and we both ended up crying then laughing! Then there was laughter and chatter and the day passed by quick enough. Out earlier than normal.Hello doggy, missed you too.Hot shower and jammies on.13 -
Things enjoyed today included watching the birds feeding in the garden, a long walk this morning just before rain set in (misty autumn view of the coast and hills around at the highest point), reading a bit more of secondhand book Cosmos by Carl Sagan, listening to a calming mindfulness/meditation session while cooking evening meal, and of course one of my most favourite things ... eating, especially a bowl of homemade apple crumble and custard.14

Good Morning Folks,
Welcome Caroby 🙂
Yesterday
1. Bought some equipment online for a little business idea. Nice to be thinking of something positive.
2. Listed some things on The Bay, with the intention of paying for the equipment I have just bought 🤣
3. Went shopping in Mr T, as I had a voucher going out of date. Virtuously bought normal shopping. (Avoided the loo roll aisle, as it was crowded!). The shop was really busy, but the mood was quiet and sombre.
4. Cooked a massive chicken dinner, with cheesecake and raspberries for desert. Mostly reduced items from Mr T......... Stripped the chicken carcasses to make stir fry for lunch, and the dogs have enjoyed a tasty breakfast Too!5. Karcher Window Cleaner toy has been used on the bathroom window and bathroom mirrors..........the shower glass is next on my list 😆
BoP: Semi retirement......is this something you would recommend?
Have a lovely day 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

Welcome Caroby
1. Enjoyed my first cup of coffee in the peace.
2. Managed to spend time in the garden without getting too wet. More bulbs planted.
3. Listening to podcasts so couldn't hear neighbour playing drums. He played because I was in the garden and he could see me.
4. Long chat with my sister. It was good to catch up with her.
5. A colleague asked me to read her presentation for the deputy head position. I did and gave feedback. She isn't good at selling herself so I gave suggestions to emphasis strengths more.
6. DS2 cooked carrot and coriander soup for tea.12
