1. Work reasonable as working at other site. Though clarification of my start date of my flexible working still isn't forthcoming 5 weeks after it was agreed. I asked again for confirmation and got vague that is what I am hoping!!
2. Picked up chestnuts on walk back to my car. The site is surrounded by trees.
3. Laugh with neighbour hearing about her trying to get her chickens down from a tree.
4. Spag bol cooked for tea and enough left to be frozen for future meals.
5. DH cousin liked her flowers. She sent a photo and they looked great - like the picture on the website. It doesn't always happen.14 -
Hugs DD.For yesterday,
Dropped off a couple of bags of clothes plus books at hospice new retail hub, bit of a drive from ours but cause very close to heart and I enjoyed the autumnal colours.
Lunged equine girlie in school, she made me giggle when she jumped a stray cone that was out, perhaps a hint.
Picked up a cauliflower from farm stall, they had two small ones for 50p so one cut up, blanched and frozen.
Made a batch of bread dough and whilst it was proving I also did a chocolate loaf cake, kitchen smelt good.
Ambulance, heart wrenching yet uplifting at same time, good tv.

BOP You're right. They are definitely pikelets. Best toasted over an open fire, as they were when I was a child.
Bala. Love the idea of happy trees. They certainly have been this year.
Yesterday
Yoga, back on before we'd even missed one!
Lunch with bubble friend.
DD came after work to deliver my birthday present. She didn't stop, just put it on the doorstep and stepped back, Hermes style! We had decided that birthday presents are an essential delivery! She also left the pressie for DGD, whose birthday is the day before mine. We'll be seeing her tomorrow, weather permitting.
All things considered, a good birthday!
Today
Another dank grey day. No glowing trees today, I'm afraid!
Meat and tatie pie for tea. Very suitable for the weather
Had some of our hedge thinned and trimmed by the farmer next door. Looks a lot lighter in the garden now.
Happy evening everyone14 -

Hello. A dark and dismal day here. Soaked several times.Up early.Had a lovely walk with my doggy this morning. In the rain but through the leaves. Just glorious colours everywhere even if it was a tad soggy.
Did a 2.5 hour shift which went by quick enough. In the kitchen doing dishes but getting paid so I didn’t mind! ( someone’s off this week) and excellent tips for 2.5 hours! Then had to do a proper supermarket shop . I bought the dog a new ball ( was for Christmas but he saw it and has had so much fun with it, it lights up when it bounces. I’ve been calling him disco dog as he has lights flashing as a smile when he carries it. Got a few other stocking fillers which shall be put away.
Popped back into work to exchange coins for notes!
I've made a decision to only buy for my three this year, my friend’s daughter and my great niece and great nephews. That is all. Shall possibly make some foodie gifts for a couple of friends and mum.Had a lovely chat with my aunt. She’s one of my favourite people. She’d sent me an email so I gave her a call to confirm what she’d asked. One of my very kind colleagues gave me some wax melts. She had some extra from a friend of hers. So that was very lovely and they smell gorgeous.A good day12 -
Happy Birthday, HappyCas, hope it was lovely.
1 Really pleased to have discovered some nice quality tops I had stashed away and not realised where I put them, clearing the clothes down has worked well.
2 Didn’t do much today, a bit of washing and a tiny but of tidying.
3 I decided to make up some proper meatballs after a disaster last week, hoping my mix of spices etc will work better now with a bit more sauce added to the pasta, generally using up bits and bobs.
4 About to try and dig out my copy of the Christmas chronicles again.
5 Caught up with MIL and made plans for next week.

Happy birthday, @Happycas !
This is what kept us awake last night (again). 10 metres from my bedroom window, in a silver birch tree. We lit it with a puny torch to take the photo!
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep, after the owls stopped talking to each other.
2) Porridge for breakfast and some to the hens. Egg and soldiers for lunch. Baked potatoes and beans for tea. Nothing left now so cleaned the fridge out. Shopping tomorrow.
3) Hens OK.
4) Did various little cleaning, tidying and admin jobs. I sent off the Green Grant application yesterday then today the very local man got back to me - too late! I felt a bit sad about that as he's only 5 miles away.
5) Started the Christmas crochet in earnest. I am making little Santa faces with ordinary pink and red wool then some very extravagant white wool for the hair and beard.
6) Did the online pub quiz.12 -
Birds have been MIA all week. I guess they are winding down. At dusk yesterday, around 4.30pm I went into the kitchen. OH had been there for about 20 minutes with the light on. I stood looking out of kitchen sink window wondering about them, hoping to see them in the spring (especially Flo & Co) and within a minute there were crows flying over and landing on fence. ESP ?
I think Happycas is right and it's Hoooman watch. Am positive they recognise my shape and size. Gave them as much as I had. All gone.
Tiggy acting strange yesterday. She actually growled at OH. He was standing near her whilst she was eating. Ears flattened, lip curling, the whole kit and kaboodle. She was serious. When we first got her she had loads of behavioural issues as she (I think) came off a puppy farm. Food was one of the areas that I had to deal with immediately. I just used to pick the bowl up every time she showed aggression. She soon learnt. So this behaviour now, after 10 years, is strange. And a little worrying.
Looking forward to our morning walk.
Have a warm day.......in all senses.......
