Suffolksue - rain has meant I don't have to water plants I put in last week.
Thinking of you and sending virtual hugs.16 -
1. Went shopping for DS1 and came home having purchased a sofa and two armchairs. Will be delivered next year. We have been looking for over a year in and off and liked this one.
2. Watched rugby and was pleased finished the season with a win especially as it was Robshaw's last game.
3. Had roast beef for tea which was good and can't remember the last time I cooked a roast.
4. DS1 sorting his clothes out and loads are being thrown away or sold.
5. Enjoying my book

Quite glad of the rain, SSue. The allotment was dry if you dug down more than about 5cm. Although we wouldn't mind if it stopped tomorrow!
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A good sleep.
2) Hens OK and I cleaned their sleeping end out. Traces of rat in the little shed where the chopped straw is stored... I've moved it into the greenhouse for now but the traps and poison will be deployed (when it's not pouring with rain).
3) Went into town to buy wellies for bigger son.
4) Smaller son survived Man Utd's terrible defeat and we had sausage casserole for tea then baked apples.
5) Did the online pub quiz.
6) Cut my hair then smaller son's hair. Son's is easy as there is so much of it and it is wavy, so mistakes just blend in. Mine is number 8 all over and his is 4 up the back and sides (going out at a 45 degree angle to the top so there is no "step", then trimmed with scissors at the top).15 -
SSue we are grateful of the rain this end also.
For Sat
1 Washed and packed away the last of the summery bits, including sandals, and unpacked the remainder of the winter clothes, even with all of the moving clothes on I’ve done I still need to do more, at some point.
2 DH is making fresh granary and cranberry bread and rolls.
3 The garden is covered in green figs, so I threw them to the side and the ferrets had great fun chasing them around.
4 I did a half hours exercise which was great for clearing my mind.
5 I’ve been searching for something different to do on the lead up the Christmas, that isn’t inside, and I’ve found the Christmas trail and bedgbury, its expensive, however it’s the only thing we will do so I’ve treated us to it. Loved the idea of a train ride but we would have to book a whole carriage, and it’s just the 2 of us.
For Sun
1 Our friend and neighbour is out of hospital and recouping at home, we dropped a note around for him.
2 Definitely a very lazy Sunday.
3 A couple of loads of washing done hanging about drying.
4 Pork belly with turmeric rice and greens was tea.
5 Might be watching a Christmas movie!

well that weekend didn't go as planned! Saturday
1) did my divorce papers ready to sign in front of friend who is notary at church on sunday
2) then botanics with gbf. DD2 was going to come but she was feeling rubbish :-(
3) heavy rain so we stayed in their cafe having lovely lunch
4) hatters won, thanks kitty
5) phd student online leaving party. but towards the end...
dd2 got really breathless and horrible barking cough, temperature up, eek. breathing got very laboured, despite steamy bathroom and olbas oil i phoned 111. they listened to her breathing and sent the paramedics. they took 30 minutes but 111 had said if the breathing got worse to phone 999. paramedics were lovely - dd2's oxygen levels fine, laryngitis and a panic attack, paracetamol for the temperature. the more senior went to school with ds. omg my son's peers doing grown up work! and the other was the son of one of the children's maths teachers. they did recommend covid test and us not meeting anyone till she gets the all clear. i slept on a mattress on dd2's floor.
1) emailed Dr No to say I wouldn't be joining him for the footie at noon, sniff. he said he was becoming superstitious (both times i've watched the foxes with him they've won) and oops they lost 3-0
2) emailed notary to say i wouldn't be in to sign papers but he has offered to come round when we get the all clear
3) watched the 11am service online which i haven't done since we went back to church - it was lovely
4) got a dissertation back to a student then, with dd2's OK, a long walk with the boys (consultant friend had said that would be OK for me to do so long as i was symptomless), posting her covid test en route, then a paper reviewed (2 days late oops)
5) and an hour on the piano and now in bed
and of course all 5 could be DD2 is recovering well

Thinking of your dd and all of your household. Sounds like a big and sudden worry, beside which the rest pales.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Purple kitten, we did the Bedgebury Christmas lights last year. It was wonderful and we were so lucky we had a dry evening. Will probably go again.Carolbee16

Purple kitten - I haven't done Bedgebury but have only heard good reports of those that have.
DD - hope your dd recovers soon. Hugs to you both.15 -
How worrying DD, hope your daughter continues to recover and your household stays well.
Hi Sue, the rain has been welcome here too. Good to hear from you and sending best wishes.15
