PaulieHerts - I wonder if its the same cove that we stayed at? Though there are plenty of them in Cornwall!
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Bigger son spent much of the day mountain biking in the driving rain.
3) Phoned mortgage company as I have forgotten the log in details. Had an interesting chat with the lady there about overpaying and penalties that I need to avoid.
4) Hens OK and took them some porridge.
5) Man from next village had had a glut of produce so was delivering locally. I had a free carrier bag of apples and also put my name down for walnuts and have a CARRIER BAG of those!!!
6) Made a quiche Lorraine that both sons liked, jam tarts with the leftover pastry and peeled and stewed all the apples. Put in freezer bags (enough in each bag for a good crumble) and I think I did 10 bags.
7) Bit of a tidy up, mountain of washing up and got the washing done.
8) Phoned my mum to ask about my aunty and the news is quite positive from there. She has not been looking after herself at all but a company is now taking a hot meal round every lunch time and social services have been twice and will put more things into place.
9) Went to my sister's for tea. We took all the curry components and the rice and my brother in law did the rice and naans. Had a game of Settlers of Catan after tea.
10) Had a late night trip to Sainsburys, purely for smaller son who enjoys that more than anything in the world.
11) In bed with 1hwb.14 -
Evening all
DD, good luck with the job application. Sounds really hopeful.
Five pleasures for Saturday:
1. DS1 came over for a couple of hours to help with paperwork-related stuff. Good session.
2. One of the neighbours whom I hadn't met before knocked at the door to sort something out - seemed to be a very nice guy.
3. Finished my audio book. Started the next.
4. Food delivery.
5. Good chat on the phone with best friend putting the world to rights
Sweet dreams

1. Had a shopping trip with DS1. Good news we left early. When we left IKEA the queue was enormous to get in. He has more idea now as to what bits of furniture he may buy and will be able to go back quite quickly and pick things up.
2. Not too big a spend- bits for the kitchen that he knows he will need. He has some stuff in storage. It was bits like new tea towels, coat hooks, a new duvet set and dust pan and brush.
3. A trip to Bluewater then and pans, knives and towels and a bathmat were bought. His old ones were very cheap and past their best. He is now the proud owner of new ones that should last a long time but we're mid price.
4. Long chat with my p. They have an old vacuum cleaner that he can have. It works fine but was getting too heavy for her to take up and down stairs.
5. Spent about an hour in the garden. It was very destressing after shopping.
6. Out for an Indian meal which was really good. First time we had been after it had been taken over and 're furbished shortly before lock down.14 -
VL - i read de-stressing as distressing..
Pleasures for Friday
1. We set off for the ffestiniog railway only to discover en route that they weren't running any trains that day. So we diverted and did a favourite walk instead. Finished just as the rain began in earnest.
2. Lunch in dolgellau. Welsh rarebit
3. Bought a date slice home to share
4. OH cooked spicy chicken which we had with leftover biryani
5. Watched the end of Des. We were going to watch a film but many phone calls and emails between OH and his sister got us all revved up. BIL is being foul to MiL ..
And yesterday
1. Coffee with friends in a local Cafe
2. Back for a looong phone call with other SiL re 5 above
3. Yoga
4. Loooong bath watching A programme on the laptop. Unfortunately I appear to have bu88ered up some keys.. I think I must have got water in them
5. OH came back from his day on the railway and cooked tea. We watched an episode of ambulance.
The weather is quite foul and so I am going to do my work for Tuesday and probably next Tuesday. Still not really used to the concept of doing nothing..I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Penned It!
Square up to it!
MHags. I'll bee there! Darn't luck as I was just ...
VL Ikea? Oh mes word! We wents over thirty tears ago, never ever considered going back! AVOID?
VJ Steamed up?I has decided!
Watched another flix on the net last evening. Night School. Porper teaching and not the carp we has here! (I know!). Starred Kevin Hart. Very good. Cocoa and cheeses were consumed! Also hads some chicken cojons as well. Very tasty. Kitty has upped her training on decent foods as well!
DD the training for Kitty is going well, the hatters took advantage. Not watched as the main event was not playing! Though she is now ready for the proper games!
Had the dippy eggs this morning for brakefest, with toasted marmite soldiers and mug of tea. Well proper. We not had dippy eggs for a while.
Now sat weighting for the cricket! If it gets on!
That is all for SunDae! Keep Safe. And BoP is still there at the end?

Last few days have been testing with a family upset and I’ve been poorly so pleasures are more important than ever,
Small dog, my little shadow, she instinctively knows when I could do with an extra cuddle.
Its rained, a lot, but we have drawn in and hunkered down at home, our own little sanctuary.
Long chats with my best friend, known each other for going on 35 years and she always gives the most succinct advice.
Time spent with equine girlie, outside in the fresh air, even if it’s raining!
Proper autumnal food and the comfort of my kitchen, baked apples stuffed with mincemeat, Parkin for the cake tins and bangers & mash for saturday tea.13 -
Hi Lainey, so good to see you. Sorry about worries. Hope things resolve themselves soon.
VL............ slight tinge of envy green. Love new stuff...........even if it's only new to me.
DD.........fingers crossed for job.
Mood good here today. No rhyme or reason. Great !
Tiggy sick twice during the night. Totally my fault as I had no pill assists so put it in cheese. Small amount, just coating it really, but it was brie and not cheddar which is what I normally resort to. Brie must have more fat. Lesson learned. Poor Tiggy. I feel so stupid.
Managed to buy fat/seed balls for birds. No more soft rolls and butter..............
My brother still on acute ward. Blood pressure kept dropping yesterday but they seem to have stabilised it today. Thank goodness.
I love Sundays.
Have a happy one........
XAKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo
According to a lovely poster I am Bala the Brave who wrestled a Tiger. You know who you are.....
I HAVE A GOLD STAR and A MEDAL and a Title !14 -
Lainey - hope things improve soon, with family and with you
Bala - glad you're feeling brighter again. You're good at bouncing back!
Suffolk Sue - thinking of you
Yesterday
A grey day much brightened by DS and DGS coming for lunch. DGS is 6, an age where things seem to change daily! Because of restrictions we've seen very little of him this year so it was a real treat to catch up a little.
Finished off some projects that have been hanging around so I can justify starting a new one. Am going to make a wreath, but can't find my Christmassy material. Perhaps that's what I gave DGD last year for a school project!
Friend has lent me the new Cormoran Strike book. It's so heavy I can hardly lift it, but will persevere.
Happy autumn evening everyone

I apologise to everyone for the weather, all my fault ,-
a couple of weeks ago DS replaced the shed roof ,a few days later I found a nearly full tin of wood preserver in the shed and thought I’d put it on the shed ,figured 1 side a day would be easy ,went and bought a brush and gloves .Overnight it started raining and hasn’t stopped since .Sorry

Hi Sue, good to see you post. Hang on in there. It’s all you can do. Big love to you all.Not long in from workety work. Busy enough day, was in earlier and out later .Okay-ish tips but we all gave half back to me as I’m collecting for some flowers for a colleague later in the week.Started off as ghastly but brightened up in afternoon. I’d hung clothes on clothes horses this morning before I went out so called son mid afternoon to put them out on patio.Best hello from my doggy when I came home.16
