Hello
a very productive day and rather satisfyingly so. Last couple of days have been itty bitty waiting on others turning up at their leisure not mine!Apart from the early dog vomiting at 4.10am grrrrr! A very lovely doggy walk this morning. He does like to take his time and have a good sniff and some days I’m more inclined to say hurry up but today we mosied along, he sniffed, I admired the trees and the shrubs in all their glorious colours. And the birds.Another bag of rubbish out ( from spare room) A rug and a lampshade given to niece who picked it up tonight in return for a bag of baby clothes that I’ll pass on tomorrow to a friend who knows a family in need. A very quick hello to doggy from GN...he does love her very much. Then they were off.A lovely letter from DD1 so sat and replied straight away and doggy and I walked down to postbox.Nipped out to supermarket for some soft drink and may have bought three very RTC bunches of flowers.Cleaned fridge and cleaned cooker!Cleaned my bathroom.Hoovered and dusted in my bedroom. Hoovered staircase and then downstairs. Better.Washings out and almost dried, finished on radiators.
watched back and forth another episode of All Creatures Great and Small. It’s just a lovely programme.Made a very lovely chicken pie ( Rtc pastry) with little potato wedges and peas. Ate all by myself ( quite happily) as others were at work.Chat with friend on phone. And yes another month passes since my lovely husband died. 43 of them which is just too many.13 -
What a day.
Picked Dad up from airport middle of the night. Couldn't sleep when we got home, too much on my mind. Had been asleep for about an hour when he woke me up in a rush because he thought we were going to be late for his train at Victoria. His watch was on Cyprus time......2 hours ahead.
Got to Victoria almost an hour early, as is his way. I am happy if he is happy. Met a lovely man at the gate who allowed me to settle Dad on the train and then had a chat with him on the way out. Really kind.
Dad and I spoke to my brother this morning. He sounds stronger and more confident. Still weak and on acute ward but responding slowly to treatments. There may still be bleeds and he will have to have procedure again. At present they are putting it all down to the prescribed painkiller which should have been accompanied with a medication to protect and line stomach. Something caused the multiple lesions and ulcers. We shall see. The pleasure was that he was strong enough to talk to us and he sounded subdued but out of the critical zone.
Finally managed to crash on sofa late this afternoon. OH woke me to tell me that there was no dog food. When he went out to buy some, for some silly reason he left unwrapped (?) chocolate on the lower shelf of his computer table. Which Tiggy ate. My LD brother tried to stop her (thankfully he is still here) to no avail but he told me immediately. I quickly calculated how much she had consumed and phoned my vet to get out of hours telephone number. I was frantically wondering how I would get her anywhere, refuse to drive any long distance with OH. Here comes the pleasure...................MY vet called me back. He was monitoring a poorly cat so called me to see what was wrong. I think I love him..........tee-hee..........
Tiggy is being monitored by me for now. Gut feeling is that she is going to be fine.
So feel a bit stunned but so very grateful that things are being managed and that I am being given so many opportunities to see so much good.
This morning I was preparing food and water for Flo & Co. My Dad asked me if it was for the birds and when I told him that this was a daily ritual he praised me. Funny how even at my age praise from a parent brings a glow. Silly me...........am so sentimental and soppy. Oh well..............
Sweet dreams to all

Evening all
Frith, I so agree with VJsmum about how brilliant an advocate you are for DS2. Your boys are very fortunate to have you.
Mhags, big hugs.
Bala, hooray that your brother continues to improve.
Five pleasures for Thursday:
1. Last night's stuffed courgettes again for lunch. I could have heated them up but they are really lovely cold.
2. Very much enjoying listening to the 'Home Fires' audiobook from the library. Have had it on for hours while I've been....
3. Dealing with paperwork. Tons of it. Recycling or shredding masses. Very therapeutic.
4. Afternoon nap.
5. Bubble bath.
Sweet dreams

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) The washing machine man appeared and "mended" the tumble dryer in about 3 seconds and it just about dried a load of clothes. Then it ground to a halt and flashed up the same error code again!
3) Hens OK.
4) Went to my sister's for a belated birthday meet up for bigger son.
5) Bigger son made and decorated a cake for his 4th dentist appointment tomorrow!
6) Sort of planning an overnight break in York before Christmas.
7) Got our highest ever score on the virtual pub quiz.
In bed now with 1 hwb. Both sets of neighbours are being silly simultaneously, which is a first. Uphill is leaving soon and is generally crashing around the place, throwing stuff in the dustbin, slamming the gate and leaving the dogs out for a good bark at all hours. Downhill are both looking miserable and the arguments (heard through the wall) are now off the scale. Unfortunately, their house joins on to sons' bedroom, so they get the brunt of it. They are due to get married next year. I hope they don't.14 -
1. Free lunch at work. Vegetable fajita it was good.
2. Chaos as car park barriers in use at work. Most passes didn't seem to work but I had registered mine , as instructed, and it worked. Not sure why others couldn't have done the same. It only took a couple of minutes.
3. Text mouth a friend who seems happier at the moment
4. Cauliflower cheese and gammon for tea. It seemed the weather for it.
5. Lit a candle and the smell was lovely.14 -
1. Oldest NZ schoolfriend has WhatsApp'd & - toxic orange karma? Or is it false news for a miracle recovery to counter low polls/faltering election campaign?
2. &'s ignorance is due to crochet discipline:-) Has to be finished for tomorrow. Several re-starts already. About to start new ball of wool.

3. Token birthday bits duly delivered to Town of Gown and instantly appreciated. Included Hugo Cabret - every household should have one. Magical book for all ages.
https://g.co/kgs/6zeVDp
4. Good Communion. DD - we used Dan Stevers Psalm 103 on screen. Wonderful match of words to ways, waves and wonder.https://youtu.be/C_P-zjAGomg
5. Ended good day, after huge rain, sunnily, down by The Bumps, with water, MANY rowers, cygnets, thermos, apple, dogwalkers, runners, online msgs re: location and cycle network to the young post-grad. Beirut student helped a fortnight ago. He has used his 14 days' isolation well, much Uni reading, grauniad ditto, podcasts and R4/R4x - as bullied by tutor &:-)
We'll meet next week.
6 for extra. Deliberately sought out a particular Town of Gown CS beforehand, cause dear to &, especially for their way with those on the margins - Romsey Mill, Lainey. & funds are low these days, but can always manage somehow. V.grateful to have been raised without debt or credit cards.

Pleasures abound, but the days get mixed up.
As always, the sheer delight on doggy's face when she realises we are going walkies.
A dip in the river the other morning, with the sun shining on the water.
Finally getting her booked into the salon for next week, it's seven months since she was last trimmed.
The company of my son, who is still working from home.
Making this year's batch of elderberry syrup.
Hearing from elderly father and stepmum, who are both well.
My online choir sessions. One day we will all be back together, rehearsing and performing.
The convenience of the fruit and veg van coming round every Wednesday. Also the convenience of online supermarket deliveries, so no need to venture into potential giant petrie dishes.
A glorious great big full moon last night, beautiful. One life - your life - live it!16 -
Art'noon from overcast drizzly ICT

1. OH got up and out and did a very pleasant 4 mile walk locally

4. OH cooked king prawn biryani when we arrived. Was nom
5. DD had a good therapy session. She genuinely seems more upbeat at the mo.
Have a great rest of afternoon allI wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Hello. Posting earlier than usual. VJSMUM I’m currently at April 2011 in OSP and you’d just joined and had been running! Frith was waxing lyrical about Mr N! I was having a weekly bath ( water was metered ) though still of course having daily showers 😊, reading, reading, reading! Walking up and down hill back and forth to school twice a day...hadn’t started work and didn’t have a car then. It’s lovely re-reading them.
Right for today: a beautiful day. A cold start and a very frosty doggy walk over the fields, our distant island just peeking through a band of thick mist. It’s over 30 miles away but sometimes it just looks like it’s just the other side of fields. The heron was so close to us and then flew up and away.Went into town. Had to pick up meds for DD2, post a parcel to DD1, got some curtains for living room in charity shop. Parked at college to save a parking ticket...walk downhill of course meant a walk back uphill ( regretting not paying a pound when I had heavy curtains to carry! )
Home. Washings out. Son had stripped his bedding before his work so that’s almost dry , will have heating on later and finish it off.
DD2 had college via zoom...I may have a qualification at the end by osmosis
Lovely walk down to post box with doggy. Had bought a Halloween face mask for DD1. ( and me ) we love Halloween.Friend phoned. Just in from dropping some stuff off to her just now. She was calling to see when I was heading over but chatted about lots of other things as usual!Out in garden. She was getting my table and chairs so I washed them down. Emptied the veggie patch and weeded and deadheaded and pruned some more. Pulled sweet peas out. And nasturtiums that were growing in random places.Loaded car and went over to hers. The bag of baby stuff that niece gave me last night to pass on was burst so friend gave me a couple of new ones...standing at my boot re-filling them and out comes a pair of knickers...and then another and then a pyjama top...can you imagine getting that if I hadn’t checked it! Very funny.Home. I’m in for the night I think!Need to go bring in last lot of washing, it won’t be dry but at least will have had fresh air on it. Had washed my white summer curtains .My little garden robin who isn’t frightened and sings so beautifully has been around most of the day .13
