5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Morning all
Wow Frith - excellent canoe scavenge and three kingfishers!
Pleasures for yesterday
1. An early morning circuit with OH - stunningly warm in the sunshine (though somewhat chilly in the shade and wind) and the sea was amazing
2. Took DD for a honey ice cream later (i had a child's portion and still only ate half, was stuffed) and did another circuit on the way home. During our ice cream the rather breezy wind dropped suddenly and it was really warm in the blue sky and sunshine. Beach was quite busy (but not in a crazy way!).
3. Did an hour of yoga - which surprised me that i managed to fit it in.
4. Put together the new chimenea - bought so that we can continue to entertain outside as the nights get chillier.
5. Which we did! Friends came round for dinner and we could sit out without coats even! I marinated chicken that we cooked on our cadac (BBQ thing) and we had a lime marscapone torte for pud that i'd made earlier. The chimenea was a hit.
Have a great day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
Good morning all, pleasures for the weekend...
I work on Saturdays but worked Sunday as well this week. Everything went well.
I walked along the esplanade (sounds a lot posher than it actually is) in the warm sun on both days.
I looked across to the marina and waved in DD's direction
Easy meals - I worked extra hours on Sunday so I'll make a roast in the week sometime instead.
Added quite a few rows to crochet project number one.
Take care all of you

For yesterday,
Bacon butties then caught up on all things Ambridge.
Finished my car, inside this time, hoovered up a fair bit of horse chaff from boot and even leather treated the seats, it won’t last long but nice while it does.
Planted up some spring pots for the garden, dwarf iris and crocuses. Gave everything else a good water and feed. I was very taken with the prairie garden shown on GW this week and think something similar would be perfect for the back of the cottage, which gets a lot of sun and can be windy. Need to plan!
Made a quiche for lunch, blue cheese and the last of the ripe toms, the pastry trimmings made four jam tarts for tea.
The crescent of the new moon as I shut the curtains in the evening, it’s the autumn equinox today so wishing everyone a very merry Mabon 🍂14 -
Will catch up with latter half of osp reading after this, since screen went blank and msg said: "MoneySavingsExpert.com has unexpectedly closed this site. No internet availability."
You don't say. So -
1. Switch off mob. Restart
mob. and have just rcvd weather forecast for 19th, yes 19th, September:-)
Remind me of today's date - that's how connectivity is in & Fennylands.
In case you need to know, there will be some light cloud, temp. 10 - 22C, 2 days ago:-)
2. Overnight slow cooker ratatouille, incorporating & h-g beans. Love ratatouille.
3. With RCT (Toulon rugby, for newbies)flag and suitable attire, & allowed self rugby watch at The Alma.
Shared with Welsh landlord, as Scarlets were our opponents and The Alma is Town of Gown's rugby pub:-)
Dreadful match, but Toulon eventually took the points. That apart, & always happily tfrs to Stade Mayol/Toulon or any old Var stamping grounds in head space:-)
4. Mowing done. Compost's taller than & again.
5. Extreme faff, but done - 8 jars apple+blackberry, or is it blackberry+apple? rum compôte.
Need to label them - and the b/a jelly. They look the same until held to the light. & fingers and nails look vile, despite hairwash, which usually removes such staining and discoloration. Not this time.

Ampersand how are the tomatoes?
Lainey must have been something in the air yesterday. I too cleaned the inside of the car! Last time we went to our caravan, they cut the grass and then it rained. That was about a month ago and the grass still adorned the footwells ( feetwells?). The shame! Anyway, all gone now.
Yoga today, but only one more to go. Our lovely teacher has decided to have a break until next spring. I think the combination of national guidelines, and the even stricter parish hall guidelines have just become too much. I shall miss it.
Today is more glorious than ever. Very sunny and very warm. Making the most of it by sitting in the garden. We will have to sit inside soon enough.
Happy sunshine 🌞 everyone14 -
Happycas - still growing. Still green. I've already accused friends and peeps in other places of using up all the red+ripe colours, meaning none left for &'s toms.
True still, even though I'm now beheading them, and trunk clearing😆 to let sun in.
Just realise I forgot to add h-g aubergines to h-m ratatouille pride, too.
Pic may follow.
