Hello. Been a lovely day here but starting to cool down. Though still sitting with patio doors open.Been trying to be quiet today for sons sake however no one else has...cars, kids playing ( local holiday weekend) ,doggy!Went to the mother for an hour . Had collected her meds at pharmacy and a small supermarket shopping. Hoovered, folded what didn’t need ironed and hung a washing out and had a nice chat with her neighbour.Home and hung my own washing out.
Bagged up outdoor cushions to go in storage for winter.Nice chat with friend on phone.Made a chilli for tea.13 -
When running about for a prescription for MIL as it was out of hours but needed after the surgery, we discovered that some Boots places do a midnight Pharmacy, which when found proved a god send.
1 I did some proper food planning, and had a lovely curry, packed full of great things good for keeping DH’s diabetic tendencies in check.
2 We gifted my DFs mobility buggy to FIL, on what would have been my DFs 85th birthday, not planned it just worked that way I thought it very apt, he would be pleased, and FIL will get good use out of it, once he gets over the initial I’m not old in my 90s part.
3 More washing loads, bought in and put out.
4 A lovely phone call and thanks from MIL and FIL, I’m hoping to see them a bit more which would be lovely, althou I suspect local lock downs soonish.
For today
1 It would appear this is a money going out day! The vets meds were from the vets rather than prescription, that doubled the price an extra 20, then to bring the gas and leccy into line prior to autumn winter we’ve used £200 over, with the animals we are doing roughly 1 load a day for us, and 2 loads for them, but we always hang it out or around to dry rather than using the tumble dryer. Also DH and I have started feeling the cold of an evening.
2 Todays food is one bowl HM chilli, for some reason I always think of food in a bowl as comfort food, again full of good things, but with a side of tortilla chips to eat it with.
3 Looking around the garden and enjoying it, happy with it, and seeing bees! Drinking from the bird bowl.
4 Dh has listed some inherited things we don’t use on the bay, in fact he still appears to be taking photo’s of various things and listing them now.

Blackbeard, thanks for the thought but am thinking more down the lines of CBD oil. At least I was until I researched prices. Cheaper to buy the real thing, I would imagine..............
Nothing much to report, still decluttering hoard. Making more of a mess I think.
Strange combination of chicken pizza (leftover roast), fried mushrooms, coleslaw. I got the thumbs up from my brother. And the mushrooms were RTC as was the chicken. Love it when that happens. A £2.80 (already roasted) chicken fed the 3 of us last night and Tiggy today. Bargain.
I have put on so much weight. Really. So October 1st I start my health regime. I will weigh myself and then I won't go near the scales for a year. Clearly eating habits will be modified but am a bit stumped as to what exercise I could do. Research and chat with doctor. I can't keep on taking so many painkillers just to get through the day.
Walked with my brother past the house where the lady plants lovely flowers at the base of the tree on the street. Am going to see if my brother can teach me how to upload photo. He is so much better than me at tech but I am pretty useless. Kept wondering how people on here added emoji's until I looked up at the top..............duh !
Really enjoyed the warm windy weather today. I love a good breeze. The light was lovely, clear and soft.
Looking forward to one of my last desserts. For a year. Might indulge now and again. Might be rude not to.........
Sleep well

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not the worst sleep.
2) Dentist round 3! Little Tooth is no more. We are not entirely sure whether extractions are allowed in Corona time or not, so lets just say Little Tooth "fell out in her hand"... As did the vicious shard of tooth that had been jiggling around in his gum causing constant pain. A temporary denture is going to "fall into his mouth" in a fortnight. Obviously he is even more gappy now, but hasn't got the constant sharp pain.
3) Hens OK.
4) Went for lunch with my mum in a nearby garden centre. First time since before lockdown I have seen her outside of her or my garden. She has given up drinking. This is a good thing but I'm still in a state of shock.
5) Smaller son and I popped to Sainsburys. He is having a sudden rush on leaving the house, so promoting that where I can.
6) Made a large quantity of soup for bigger son over the next few days. Bought ice cream and yoghurt also.
7) Watched Gogglebox and might put Gardener's World on just now.13 -
1. Day off work. Always OOD but especially so at the moment.
2. Picked up parcel from post office and had chat with the lady there. She used to work at the nursery both sons went to many years ago. Good to catch up. The post office was empty. I am really lucky that the village post office is also a sorting office so I can collect any non delivered parcels from there.
3. Went to the village hall for the community fridge. A bag of food for £5. Some random items there including creamed coconut. Enough brought and had smoke salmon for lunch.
4. Time in the garden and potted on some plug plants that I had brought. Also more weeding. The hens were helping too.
5. DH and DS1 were out for food so DId cooked a pasta dish for us.
6. Early night and read my book.14 -
Recent pleasures:
enjoying the bonus sunshine and using the hot tub, very special in the evening when it’s getting dark and my twinkly solar fairy lights come on. Getting a bit nippy when we get out though!
friend round for Chinese duck pancakes and a good natter in the garden
introduced my sister to one of my favourite walks round the lake and along the towpath- she loved it almost as much as I do
watched a boat go through the lock - chatted to the boat owner and he’s been travelling around on his boat for the last 4 months, now on his way to moor it up and off to Spain for 6 months! Slightly envious 😊
local sausage in a roll in favourite park then a walk around our market - a good day in all and lots of steps done!
have a great weekend 😊13 -
For yesterday,
Smashing day weather wise and two loads of washing dried on line.
Received kind parcel from pal.
Busy morning with housework and errands, checked tyre pressure on car and filled up particularly flat rear, silent wish sent up that it’s not a slow puncture.
Over the yard and saw the Red Arrows doing commemorative fly pass for nearby US Airbase, deafening noise but pony didn’t bat an eye, she’s kinda used to jets by now.
Afternoon cuppa with a lemon & sultana pastry.13 -
1. Just heard Anna Phoebe's 'By the Sea', glorious sounds on R3 :
https://youtu.be/WJPbNBFPd98
2. Wonderful Kettles Yard Thursday with D&J up from London. Wore my Alfred Wallis mask which arrived in time. Beautiful weather, much walking. Town of Gown showed her best face.
3. Left hand indicator fixed - it WAS the relay, which &had. Another £50 wallop, but done is done.
4. The joy of Simon's Cat: laughter, smiles, nodding agreement. Highly recommended to many here, free. Tiggy, Kitty Hot Paws, others of this osp parish - deffo. do subscribe:-)
Last night, 'Off to the Vet'https://youtu.be/CyYYHLygi3s
5. Finished off 2 large rumtopfs last night. All they have to do now is sit in their dark, cool secret place to become boozier than ever by Christmas.
