Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Bigger son had another (professional) driving lesson. He won't have any more now until the week before his test (early November). He drives me around all the time and I no longer have to brace myself, look at the speedo or have a swivelly head to look in all direction and all the mirrors!
2) Hens well, 4 eggs, and many lovely raspberries.
3) Went to the charity shops in nearest town and bought a little milk jug. I've a nice teapot, but have never owned a milk jug - we've always just sloshed milk from an Ikea plastic cup! I liked the thick glaze and the circles on it - looked it up on Ebay and it's 1950s.
4) A very exciting afternoon of phone calls! I had put them off as I tend to expect negative news.
First was to the garage (car has a 3 month warranty) as I think the tracking is out by a mile. I expected him to say this was my responsibility or not in the warranty but no, he gave me directions to the exhausts, tyres and batteries place they use, said to get it fixed and charge it to their account. So that is a job for tomorrow morning.
5) Phoned N College, where smaller son and I looked round on Monday. This is a Special College (really a special school but up to 19) and independent, so no guarantees of a place. The secretary put me on hold to ask someone then came back to say she couldn't tell me as it is up to County to actually sort the place but "his visit was VERY POSITIVE, if that gives you a clue to what we said on the phone to County 5 minutes after you left..." !!!
6) Then had a phone call from smaller son's solicitor! Really, I just want someone to help him get a place at N College. She is working on that but sorting everything else as well, to get him "future proofed". What he doesn't get now, while he is under 18, he will probably never get. So she is going to ask for assessments across all his problems (speech, sensory etc), which (shockingly) he hasn't had since he was 7. She says his EHCP (legal document that schools must follow) is poorly written, difficult to understand and doesn't include everything he needs. She is basically ripping it to pieces and getting it right. Hopefully she will then take them to task about why he didn't receive an annual review for years and why he has been left at home for 21 months while County faffed around.
7) Took smaller son to Sainsburys (his favourite place, and the only place he will always agree to go to).
8) Bigger son and I did the online pub quiz from Saturday and had a pot of tea with milk in the new milk jug.14 -
Frith, so pleased for you.
Well, it's official. My birds are junk food addicts !
I buy them peanuts, proper bird seed for their type and all they really want is Tiggy's kibble and my biscuits !
My little fox came back and partook of the feast I left her. The 'thank you' deposit was left under the table. Much better than in the bowls.
Not much to report as I had a day of fighting my feelings and felt really low. Hid it from my brother but it's amazing isn't it..............at one point he asked me if I wanted a hug. Just out of the blue. I gratefully accepted.
Hope you're all having restful sleep...............

I know it's past 3 in the morning but pain killers not working well and my hip and leg (aching) are keeping me awake.
Tonight I put out some kibble and dried buffolo tripe for the fox. Yes it does exist. My latest endeavor to keep anything I give Tiggy (including treats) as additive free as possible.
Just went into garden for some fresh night air and it looks as if someone had a tantrum when the food ran out. Enamel food and water bowls thrown off the table along with some other non related food things.
Well, it looks as if it went down a treat...........tee-hee

1. Text messages throughout the day with a friend.
2. Working in a different place where the other staff around are friendly and helpful. I managed not only to sort out my log in to Microsoft teams meeting for the governance session but the log in for everyone else too. Surprising none of the computers used had webcams fitted. It took ages as IT is so slow. We did watch it together.
3. Afternoon was terrible a very overbooked clinic with people attending and telephone appointments. Other people randomly turning up for various reasons and needing help. I survived it and the pleasure was a consultant sent me an email to thank me for helping with one of the people who turned up. My manager had told me to do what I can and it was a one off mistake it was booked wrong as it was last week and next week!
4. Enjoyed cooking tea. Had potatoes and courgettes from the garden too.
5. Had a drink out in the garden with DH.

Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday...
I spent a lot of the day cleaning. The pleasure is that my house looks lovely.
The HT noticed everywhere was clean when he came in from school.
Dropped birthday present off to HT's friend who was very pleased.
Easy evenng meal - cheesy beans with toast and bacon
Shopping delivery - all the heavy stuff like cat litter. It saves me from having to haul it into the car and back out again.
Take care all of you15 -
For yesterday,
After a completely rubbish nights sleep it was good to get up and drink strong coffee, small dog is always such a comfort during my nocturnal trials.
Went to see my other girlie, we did some work over trot poles but my energy levels were not high and she tends to pick up on such things so it was a tad half-hearted. She enjoyed her parsnip though ☺️
Driving home through farmland, one field had onions drying in the sun, in another they were harvesting maize, my region really is the larder of the country.
A kind email from a pal.
The young people popped round as they were re-homing a couple of our surplus garden chairs, cup of tea and a good catch up.

Morning all - bala, have another (virtual) hug
Frith - excellent news at last!
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Thesis submitted, fully and finally. This is hopefully the last of the thesis posts!
2. Cleaned the two bathrooms - they were minging
3. Did the shopping in aldi - at 8.30 in the morning it was virtually empty so i shall do that again. The fridge is a lot less mother hubbardy
4. OH cooked tea - cheese and lentil loaf
5. Family film night - the first for a while. DD's choice which was 'Holes' - it was very good and i stayed awake for most of it!
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
Cranky, isn't lovely when someone notices the difference after a cleaning binge.
Because I had 2 dogs and I live in my OH's house I would hoover everyday. I didn't want anyone to say that the house smelt of dogs. Then on a Friday (day off) I would spend most of the day scrubbing and cleaning house top to bottom. No-one ever noticed. It was heartbreaking.
Now I do as and when. Everything dodgy hip allows. Tiggy's walk comes first.
So sorry for what you are going through. Words never seem enough.
Huge hugs
