Thanks for thinking of me mhags. My sister had a family bereavement which took longer than the doctors said it would to happen. I didn't want to post as it was a bit grim. Even just supporting my sister was upsetting but it's over now. My sister is still sad and a bit low but that's to be expected.
Pleasures are ....
The HT is back at school and seems to be coping well with the extra hour that's been added to his day (GCSE catch up).
The HT is also coping OK with the evil medcation prescibed for his skin.
My job is going well. We've settled into a routine and I know what I'm supposed to be doing and when.
Most of my crochet projects are finished so I started another one - that makes two on the go. I also need to finish a cross stitch which will be a friend's christmas present if I do finish it (and if I don't it will be her birthday present next year).
DD did you say you were staying on a boat with your ex? Are you sailing or just staying on it. If you're in the marina I can always come and rescue you for a bit

Don't feel guilty SSue, nobody wants to see a person that they love go through this. We've just done three weeks of similar when the doctors said it would be a couple of days at the most. There aren't the words for it.13

Suffolk Sue - i know 'thinking of you' is a bit lame with all you are going through but it is all we can do. You must not feel guilty.
Hi all - i've been away and have only skim read. Hope the poorlies are on the mend
Pleasures for the last week or so
1. Our lovely narrow boat - despite its issues (small galley mainly), it's been lovely
2. Friendly canal people - am ignoring the less friendly ones
3. We did Hatton Flight - twice! 21 locks each way - we were an ace tag team.
4. Lovely family time and lovely weather
5. Confirmation came through that my thesis corrections have passed muster and my PhD is confirmed. Now, officially, DrVJsmum and no-one can take it away! I never thought i'd get there!
Have a great evening all - i'm trying to stay awake till 10.00.I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Pleasures for today:
sunshine 🌞
so I put off anything that didn’t need doing and had the day to myself
lazy start as didn’t sleep well (3 hours according to my Fitbit)
bacon and tomatoes 🍅 for breakfast, Greek salad for lunch as the warmth and bright blue sky reminded me of Crete and my missed holiday
3 dips in the hot tub including the most relaxing one ever this evening, listening to music and just my solar fairy lights twinkling - magic
Sleeeeeeeeep well everyone including me 😊
hugs to Sue 😘12 -
DD should we be looking out our best hats with he who didn’t want coffee.
no my house is on the way to his so he'd have to go out of his way (literally) not to walk me home from the pub
cranky i think it's a widebeam so mobile but wider than a narrow boat. it's currently moored at Liverpool marina and that's where i'll be staying.
hugs to ss and cranky
1) annual leave and the weather was stunning. pottering, washing and soup making done

Hang in there, SuffolkSue, and stop the guilty thoughts. You've are doing nothing wrong. Just love him and let him know he can leave when he's ready and that you will be fine. It is so good to hear of all the help and support you're both getting. He made it to the anniversary, didn't he? You celebrated another year together. It will happen when it happens, and you will know you made his last months peaceful and comfortable. One life - your life - live it!14

Pleasures today.
Beautiful day, almost like summer.
Walk in the park with dog, more elderberries collected.
First rehearsal of term with online choir, great to be back, lots to look forward to this term.
Batch of elderberry brandy and batch of blackberry whisky started.
Lunch out on the patio.
Mother-son teamwork, he decided to declutter and tidy his room and asked if I would give him a hand. He found some CDs he thought he'd lost, so they've joined the rest of the collection.
Finding out DVDs can be played on the XBox.
Watching Kingsman: The Golden Circle on Film4.
Bed, knowing it's going to be a nice day again tomorrow, and I am not at work.
