Hi everyone.
I am new to this thread but what a lovely and refreshing little page. I obviously haven’t gone back to read from page 1 (I spend enough time on this forum as is) so I hope I’ve got the right end of the stick.
After a tough few months of feeling low, I feel this is a lovely commitment I can make to reflect on the positives in each day.
So my little pleasures today are:
1. Been to see my house, (hoping to exchange this month) and fell back in love with it all over again. I’m so excited to get in now!
2. Packed a box of kitchen stuff, I just couldn’t contain myself!
3. Had a lovely day with Mr Compet, even though he was feeling very sorry for himself after a few too many last night
4. Reflected on such a lovely weekend together, with a well needed night away, some lovely food and experiences. I spotted a group of dolphins off the east coast!5. Appreciating lovely food again after a difficult few weeks (as above)
Heres hoping for a positive week. Take care all 🤗Officially a homeowner 🥳🥳

For today:
a nice walk in the sunshine even though my dodgy leg was protesting
lost my cardigan on the way round but found it on the way back 😊
lots of birds on the water including a swan family with 6 huge cygnets
sitting in the sunshine half way round with a 99, was really pleased to see the ice cream 🍦 van there!
enjoying the early evening sunshine 🌞 in the garden while dinner was cooking
reading the above, I think I got my dose of vitamin D today
night all 😊12 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Almost a lie in.
2) A slight improvement for bigger son, tooth pain wise.
3) Hens OK and picked some raspberries and one tomato.
4) Went to the local brook and followed it to the little bridge where you can look out onto the River Severn. No phones or cameras with us (of course) but under the bridge then flying around in front of us - three kingfishers!
5) Went into town afterwards and bought smaller son a T shirt in the charity shop. Went to the cafe in the park where I had a sandwich. There was nothing soft enough for bigger son to eat so he just had a cup of tea while people looked at him and backed away nervously.
6) Got home and bigger son absent mindedly scratched his chin and a piece (complete with stitch) fell off. We stared at the piece for a while but nothing terrible happened! The scab came off his lip yesterday and took half his moustache with it, which annoyed him.
7) Made a casserole for tea which everyone liked and smaller son had 3 helpings! I thought it was a bit swede heavy, but apparently that is a good thing.
8) Went out to fly the drone (smaller son also) but were driven back to the car then home by the rain. As we got back to the door, bigger son said, "We're a good family, aren't we?".
9) Really enjoyed watching Whitehouse and Mortimer: Gone Fishing.
Another day of phone calls awaits, to see if smaller son might get a school place this year...12 -

Welcome Competsoph.
For yesterday,
After a cold start the sun came out to play and it was a lovely warm day.
Baked some mincemeat buns and an apple crumble.
Watching the sparrow squadron from my kitchen window, all lined up on the edge of the bird bath taking turns to have a dip, then Mrs Blackbird flew in and scattered the lot of them.
Long afternoon walk with beloved and small dog, picked a few blackberries on the way and froze them when we got home. Small dog doesn’t usually bother with sticks but become attached to one in particular and came home with it in her mouth.
Proper Sunday tea of buttered crumpets, followed by cake.

Welcome Competsoph
Good lord, Mhags, Dubai... it's been a while since i was there (other than passing through the airport).
Been AWOL as out camping in Vanda and then coast path walking. A quick catch up as we're going on hols this afternoon - a canal boat!
Some Pleasures for the last few
1. Vanda camping (the car is called Vanda) was very good - very comfy, and we slept well. OH agreed it was much better, comfier and easier than he'd feared.
2. beautiful north Wales - we do love it so.
3. coast path walking - 33 miles over 2 days! We've now breached the 400 mile mark but still not halfway yet. 33 miles in 2 days is too much for me and some of it was torture. Glorious scenery on the Llyn Peninsular though. We saw seals.
4. My weightloss from my food poisoning has so far stayed off
5. My own bed - bliss.
Right, i've got to run like the wind. See you soonI wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
Welcome competsoph - you are right.
This is a lovely thread, even though my posts disappear - fens connectivity notspot.
Fingers x'd for completion.
Note to bop: sadly, what you suggest just does not work here, just isn't an option. Thankyou for your persistence though:-) - and special🐾welcome to KHP❤.- keep training your 2-foots. The spirits of Monty and Raffles are with you:-)
So, will & try another 5?

1. Early to London and friends' Unitarian church again. Still nothing while &vic on hols. Met more interesting souls:-). We are so much looking forward to our 17 Sept Kettles Yard day.
2. More crockery from London for some of &'s birds with broken wings. Handed over last night and received gratefully. Not
everyone has had helpful family templates. That Frith elder son comment is true and wonderful and wise - and COMPLIMENT to you, Frith....as I always add, 'as we who've been with you over many years on osps know only too well'.
Wishing you well in today's phone calls for younger son.
3. Yes, paulie - loads of toms here too - and not a hint of red on any of them. Many now jungle-interconnected with runners, still flowering bonkersly, and sessile oak.
Pic should be here next.
4. Into The Alma, for lovely screening of Aotearoa North v South match. Fantastic rugby, real thing - and 4 mighty new young All Blacks - Caleb Clarke and Alex Jordan especially. Brilliant. & all in black+ABs' flag and matching shirt, bien sûr 🇳🇿♥️. Lovely company and close-up with blissful new 2nd son of The Alma too - a fortnight old now:-)
5. R4x - prequel to Cranford.

And just like that the working week is over! Hurrah! After a crazy day yesterday it was so quiet today. But got lots of prep done and then got out front to do some visual merchandising...yay! My happy place!
Had a lovely piece of leftover Victoria sponge which was very yummy.
Home with a big tub of salad as I’d prepped too much in anticipation of being busier than we were and a leftover baked potato to go in the freezer!Tips were meagre! However better than nothing !We all went out to work this morning . All at staggered times but I left my doggy some treats to find! His first morning home alone in months ( DD2 was home after a few hours so he really was fine but he came to the porch door as I was reversing out the driveway to give me some extra mum guilt at leaving him!)
Home to a tidy house as I did three bathrooms, kitchen and hung a washing up ( in not out as it’s been ghastly) before I left.Have a lovely evening.10 -
1 I put a stew on to cook in the oven on low using up anything left in the veg drawers apart from the red cabbage, it acted as a lovely air freshener in the house.
2 Deep cleaning the bedroom, sheets off, carpet washed, several washing loads hung out, and little Sherbert (Ferret) helping me each step of the way.
3 Enjoying the weather.
4 Clothes were collected, it seems hopefully legit, going to a children’s hospice and saves us a charity shop run. Just hoping it’s not a scam, vehicles all badged up and Ids and website but who knows.
5 I found a no added sugar angel delight BBE who knows, don’t ask but took me waaay back to my parents days, it was eaten, we are still alive and reminiscing.
