Gosh............hugs to all...........
Lainey..................you okay ?
Have had my first drawing lesson. My niece uses youtube for the lessons. Excellent for someone like me as it can be paused whilst I catch up. Meant to be for kidsI drew my first ever cartoon-like baby deer. I must get a smart TV.
We picked tomatos and peppers and then had a take-away ! Their Mum's choice. I was itching to make a salad with home grown produce. Must say my parents garden is flourishing. Must be good soil.
I made a huge pot of pasta sauce for my brother and OH. My brother wanted to stay put and my OH was fine about him staying. The steak that had been in the freezer got used as no-one seems to like eating steak anymore. Suits me as I am trying to really cut down on meat. Eventually hope to do without it.
My nieces are very happy about being back at school. Phew..............
Am going to try and get some sleep as pain killers are working and I know the girls will be all over me at first light. Joy of joys..........

1. Still on holiday.
2. Went to Beth Chatto garden. I enjoyed it but wouldn't rush back. My ticket was free so only paid for DH. I had to pay a booking fee - only 50p but it annoys me. The traffic was awful in the way back which didn't help.
3. Chat with neighbour and admired their new hens.
4. DS1 home safely and then him and DS2 went to the cinema.
5. Looks hopeful that DS2 mortgage is accepted. First one was declined ,by nationwide,as money left their account as soon as they are paid and Nationwide said they aren't saving anything. DS2 money goes from his nationwide current account straight to a nationwide savings account when he gets paid! Halifax has hopefully saved the day.13 -

Good afternoon
Sunny at the moment, but keeps looking very grey. Not to worry, we can't go anywhere anyway.
Day 2 of DH pre op isolation. Only one more to go. The worst bit is we can't go anywhere or meet anyone to take our minds off things. Never mind, it'll soon be Monday. Or even better Tuesday. It's day surgery so he'll be back home by then, fingers crossed.
I finished my knitted teddy. Didn't have any black wool for eyes and nose so used doubled up embroidery silk. Looks quite sweet. Now to get on with the gift bags. Got one cut out and ready to sew.
Maybe a bit of gardening first. Green bins are back to normal, so could do a bit of autumnal cutting back. Or could just read!
Happy mixed weather day everyone

Just spent time catching up on 50+ posts, lack of broadband for most of week meant no show for me, thanks for asking Bala x
Ouchy to sons, blast to washing machines and thoughts with PK.
Recent pleasures,
After initial gggrrr on lack of t’internet found it rather liberating to be honest, more hours in day and no mindless scrolling. Determined to regulate from now on.
Baking, batch cooking and stock shopping means we are well prepped for autumn.
Changed out the wreath on door and decorations on hearth.
Time, so much time spent with equine girlie, rides, long-reining and getting soaked through together, nearly three years since our partnership began and gets better every day.
Lighting candles in the evening and digging out my Agatha Christie collection.
Such spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
The farmer ploughing the field next to the cottage and the rich, loamy smell in the air.

1 We have a voucher for takeaway local independent, so ordered in, but I went for a slightly healthier option I hope.
2 There are now 5 donation bags of clothes ready for Monday, I’m feeling pleased with some de cluttering.
3 We picked up the freezer today it was a lovely trip, we took the back roads so it was long but nice and my car needed a drive, it fitted in the back of the car literally made to measure, and fits perfectly for the gap, gives us more space for the animal foods.
4 Fitting the freezer in meant de cluttering and cleaning up where the other freezer was with a lot of help from animals that aren’t normally allowed in that bit!
5 Watching so many birds on the feeders, then also remembering to put lawn friendly weed killer down in the front garden and then dug out the strong weed killer for weeds coming up through concrete, glad the weather allowed it at last.

Hello. Just been meandering through memories from late 2013 when Raffles Cat was just a new cat , VJsmum had been in Dubai , DFV was still writing epistles and lots of ‘old’ posters were regulars. I was between jobs and bemoaning the heat!Anyway for today: was awake around 4am for quite a while then managed to doze off again. Quick doggy walk.Got a message to say the sofa I was supposed to see had feathers . I have a feather allergy and was told it hadn’t last night but seems it did. Shame but not meant to be and better than going there and sneezing and wheezing!Plumber came and luckily enough had a joiner with him as he was needed! And surprise surprise the original job hadn’t been done properly! Waaah! Anyway I now have a plumbed in machine and three loads were done and mainly dried. Lots and lots of towels that had been soaked mopping up water and chucked out the window! And the washing machine is so quiet! Bliss.
Anyway things are back where they’re supposed to be ( bin, ironing board, mops, clothes horse etc ) so I’m feeling back in control.
Did a bit in the garden. A bit of edging of the lawn . Deadheading , pruning, tidying up the beds. Picked a posy of sweet peas. Always a work in progress.
Snoozette .We met the doggy six years ago today...when he was just an ickle bickle baby boy.10 -
Lainey, so glad all is good.
I don't know what happened to the morning except for cooked breakfasts for the girls, washing of all sorts for me and hoovering. A wonderful day for drying clothes. The girls helped in 10 minute spurts between lolling about, 3 days of school has tired them until...............their Mum came home. They didn't want to go out but we dragged them to a small holding where my Mum gets her eggs and logs. There were finches and canaries to ooh and aahh over. Then off to the park for lots of running around which they didn't seem to mind at all.
Somewhere in that we went to a cafe and sat outside for an all day breakfast. It was so yummy and filling that the girls haven't even asked for a desert. I love a good fry up. Great British invention.
It has been a lovely day, no drawing lessons today but hopefully tomorrow. We are going to a late summer market in a castle town of all things. Have never been to this town so am looking forward to it.
I am missing Tiggy but then I always do.
Have a good nights sleep
