Thank you for all the messages.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Picked bigger son up at about 7am. He was no longer talking rubbish.
2) Hens OK.
3) Managed to get an emergency dentist appointment for 10.45. She worked for 45 mins to remove the nerve in the worst tooth (just a pointy bit left) and patched up the other eye tooth (a good shape, but about 4mm shorter than it was!)
4) Smaller son let bigger son drive him into town. I can't even remember the last time he wanted to go into town with us.
5) Bigger son went to take his theory test and they made him wear a mask! 8 stitches in his chin, huge lip, teeth missing, scabby nose - ridiculous.
6) He passed his theory test (47 out of 50).
7) Smaller son made jacket potatoes for tea.
The patching of the terrible tooth has disintegrated taking more tooth with it. There is now so little left I think it will be extracted tomorrow. Bigger son is already asleep.14 -
Frith, Congrats to Bigger son on the test, wow I am amazed he was feeling able.
1 Pork roast for dinner, a nice change. Pre-planned our leftovers for bubble and squeak tomorrow, well okay I may have cooked the whole cabbage and now have enough for 100 guests.
2 Various clothes drying gathered up and created a clothes pile on bed to put away, appears to be a wardrobes worth.
3 Watching the wildlife enjoy the garden after I mowed the lawn, handily the rain also arrived.
4 Seriously pondering the idea of becoming a rescue, but I think we would become too attached to be able to send them on, and I wonder about the fine line of too many, hmm ponder.
5 Looking forward to a soak.

Hello. Been a very wet day here.
short doggy walks first and last thing by me. Short walks are all I can manage. Son did the inbetweeny ones.Had my back massage this morning. Very ouchy.Had a snoozette this afternoon. Haven’t been sleeping well at night so must have needed to catch up.
Made a very tasty chicken pie for tea, with spuds and courgettes from allotment.Almost done watching Handmaids Tale. On the penultimate episode. Do not watch when you’re about to snoozette...entered the dreams!Heating was on for a wee while and candles lit, very cosy ( then got too cosy)12 -
Was at my parents for a few days. Got the opportunity to go for a walk with my 10 year old niece. Precious moments.
The birds/wildlife down there is/are wondrous. I have never seen so many dragonflies in real life. Flocks of sparrows come to eat from the garden, seagulls galore. Pretty sure I spotted a Kestrel.
Came home and of course no-one fed the birds. But it didn't matter because they were on the fence within minutes of my entering the garden. My wood pigeons are a funny lot..........they throw everything out of the bowl on the table and then proceed to squabble over the scattered mess. They do make me laugh.
Splodge (crow)...........he has been named thus as he has about 5 splodges of white. The distinctive one is on the edge of his right wing. Well, he's a regular customer now and like Flo doesn't seem to mind me pottering about. Crazy the simple things that bring so much quiet joy.
Have received a lovely message from someone this morning. Full of encouragement and care. Thank you.
Am looking after my nieces this weekend as there is last minute family matter that my parents have to deal with. Am looking forward to it. There will be drawing lessons from my 10 year old niece as I can't draw to save my life so she gets me to copy her. The results always bring about peals of laughter.
Poor Tiggy has had me awake since 5am. She has been sick twice. Am worried as usual. Boiled chicken on the menu today.
Right. Off to put washing out............

No spoiler this day!Now with some BoP happenings!
Was out to take BoPsie too her Salt Mine this morning, then back to load up the wheels with some for the dump. Had bucked early to do so herded offs. All garden waste and the bits slung into the skips.
Watched the T20 last night, took a while two start! Good win for Glawster. Wobbleade and cheeses were consumed as well. BoPsie got some twiglets.
Talking of Twiglets, Kitty is being properly trained now, as she has escaped from the protectors of cats! She has now gettens a taste for marmite. She had the luxury of the crumpet plate, where the crumpets leek proper butter and marmite on it. She was hesitant ate thirst, but meow she has the taste! That again is what proper foods do!
Take inn of proper foods, we has the fish cakes of salmon last nite, with the SpagYetti and some sweatcorn! Nice and fresh. Thems cakes of fish at the A1D! are very good. Recommended by BoP.
Got me decorations out and me shirts readied for the Veterans Brakefest tomorrow. Bin too long since scran. You can best your guess that snorkers shall be served! More inn the morning! Proper foods again. Just lick me elevnses this very morning, Tea with too cakes of Jaffa!
Well that is all, mes detective on the web, no not the experian one that always is 999, but more expensive to stitch your products with, the one that does the job. Of curse, being BoP, deep pockets, moths in wallet and short arms, I get for the sweet potatoes!
End of todays missive.
Good buy and I nows where the door is!

Miword. Frith, you are amazing & I am awed. Elder son has passed his theory - well, given the absolute determination to get there, it was likely so long as the bash & the medication didn't leave him thinking lopsided. Younger son folding into the car to be driven into town. Amidst the lack of sleep, can you allow yourself to be warmed at the astonishing Ooomph of your lads?!13

Hello! What a blooming day!The morning was alright, washing machine chap came and declared machine irreparable and charged me £10 for the pleasure.
Nice chat to friend on phone.Let’s move washing machine out says I to son. It’s been leaking underneath and I need to see damage to flooring.
Famous last words, I disconnected ( in such a foolish move) the water inlet pipe and water just poured and scooshed everywhere. Over me. Over worktop. Over son. Over walls. Over ceiling . For about 10 minutes before we could get the water switched off. Ankle deep. Stop co(k is hidden behind the cabinet between the hardwired washing machine and dishwasher. Just another reason to hate the builder!Anyway...after that and the salvage afterwards, I went to move the 5.2kg of washing powder I’d bought on Tuesday ( because it was on special offer!) that would be the soaking wet box that the bottom disintegrated and emptied said 5.2kg of powder on my feet! You couldn’t ask it up!Phoned a plumber who will kindly come on Saturday ( I was in some shock at this point and felt I was a tad garbled! ) give floor a chance to dry.
Had to buy a washing machine which was hardly budgeted for but enough there to get it. A friend kindly met us at shop, chaps put it in her car, and son and I managed to get it out at the other end!
Had sausage rolls and beans for my tea!Just sent a rather scathing email to the factor landscapers that charge a ridiculous amount each year to supposedly cut the grass / bushes / trees in our estate. They’ve charged an extra amount to cover the cost of over £5000 to re-floor the playpark. Anyway...told them ( politely if scathing) what I think with an ‘and finally my name is not Mary’ ...which is who it was addressed to. Have paid the bill but rather grudgingly!12 -
Argh, MHags - though I suppose it is extra sparklingly clean now.
Pleasures for today (Thursday).
1) A long sleep, after no sleep the night before!
2) Bigger son is up and about, running on antibiotics, painkillers and mashed potato. The stitched up chin, nose and messed about de-nerved tooth fragment do not hurt him. The shortened tooth and his jaw joint are very uncomfortable.
3) Hens well.
4) Popped to see my parents then brother in law.
5) To Lidl, where people stepped away from bigger son with a gasp. (He can't wear a mask because there are too many sore injuries!)
6) Mashed potato, sausages, beans, tomatoes and eggs for tea. Then strawberries.
7) Did the online quiz.
8) Took parcel to downhill neighbour (end house) who we had not met before. I wondered why he staring past me but then realised he was also spellbound by bigger son's face so explained what had happened. We will get used to the Ooohs and Aaarrrrghs!13 -
wow about the brother vjsmum
congrats on the test frith ds1
1) gorgeous day after yesterday's cold wet day. got the washing out having trusted forecast yesterday and put on over night
2) hm roast pepper and butter-bean soup for lunch - welcome autumn
3) met work colleague in the winebar in town. first time i've seen her since march. was lovely. we shared the cheese board (though of course had to 'share' by cutting stuff up with a knife and fork
4) having ensured colleague got her train home (she went to the wrong platform - 2 rather than 1 - for some very strange reason the edinburgh 21:21 was going from 2 and hers, also 21:21, from 1, i was shouting '1, 1' fortunately guard then shouted 'other platform' which i guess was more sensible since she doesn't really know dundee station!)
5) caught bus home so i wasn't tempted to call in mennies. dd2 wanted wotsits so we ended up walking dogs to the shop. i stopped outside mennies and caught up with friend just back from berlin. his husband fell off a go cart and broke his wrist, ouch
Now watching QI on youtube - i have russian subtitleshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Di2BJTYbx0
