Not such a great evening after all.
First I thought someone outside was breaking into the shed. (Just after midnight). I threw the window open to hear a yowling sound. Let bigger son in and he'd come off his bike. Ambulance has been and gone but I can't go with him due to coronavirus. Hand injured, hip and shoulder - probably not broken. Bumped head, concussion (he was very angry), nose wrecked, chin left on road, one tooth literally dangling from a nerve, 2 other teeth half gone.10 -
Oh Frith, that's dreadful. It's going to be a very long night for you until you get more news. Thank goodness he was able to get back home and alert you to the need for help. Fingers crossed for some positive news very soon.12

Thank you, Happycas.
He’s in A and E. He says they’ve checked his blood pressure and put a needle in his arm. They sound very busy. Ambulances are supposed to be diverting from there to Redditch (over an hours drive from here) but the paramedic had an argument with someone on the phone as the face specialist is based at this hospital.
He’s very worried about making his theory test (3pm). One tooth will have to be removed tomorrow. Hopefully they’re sewing his chin and nose up now. I’ve tried to distract him by saying he can make a Youtube video about his recovery. He’s still got concussion and isn’t making complete sense.11 -
I'm so glad you've heard from him even if he's not entirely with it. And so glad he got a paramedic who was determined to get him to the best place. It doesn't sound hopeful about the theory test but that's the least of anyone's worries and it's giving him something to focus on. I suspect he'll be too full of painkillers to do anything but sleep. Something you won't be doing, I'm sure. Many virtual hugs and cups of tea coming your way.9

Oh goodness. Hope by morning things are a bit better for your boy frith.11

Frith, am echoing everything that has been said. Your poor son, a fall like that is a nasty shock to the system at any age. Thinking of you both.

Hope Frith and eldest are ok 😘11

Frith - hope he is recovering and good that paramedic insisted he goes to the right place for him.10

Thank you, everyone.
I picked him up just after 7am. He’s had an x Ray and CT scan and is talking normally again.
He had 8 stitches in his chin but they’ve left his nose to scab over. The other bumps and grazes are ok.
The hospital don’t deal with teeth. I’ve left a message with our dentist. His front tooth was hanging out so far that he couldn’t get his mouth shut so he’s pulled that part off!! It was only hanging by a thread. Bleurgh!
We’ve both gone back to bed to prepare for the dentists - and the theory test...13 -
More than Yikes! and Hell-p! to you all.
That's big scary stuff😱 even for adventurous, capable son and mother.
Strongest possible & wishes and vibes and gorilla glue and hopes that the various elements ALL show improvement today.
Real care to you all👐🧡🙏
