Good afternoon
Just been with DH for drive- through swab and blood pre-op test at local football ground. That's an hour and a half of our lives we won't get back!! Talk about booze ups and breweries! I did feel sorry for the poor bloke trying to organise the car park single handed. Chaos!!
Anyway, it's done now and we're both isolating until I take him in on Monday morning. We'll try to enjoy a peaceful weekend
Happy Friday everyone12 -
Awh I’ve just been down 5OSP memory lane, DD1 had asked about a particular date from 2013 and I thought I know where I’ll find it! So I’ve just trawled through some beautiful memories of when I was part of five and living in a country that I loved ( though had its challenges)
Anyway back to the here and now
i slept like a log . Didn’t wake once and going by my joints and stiffness hadn’t moved once!Quick doggy walk and then back to bed.DD2 had her last shift at work and had some lovely gifts.Been a nice day here, a couple of spits of rain that didn’t really come to anything. Would have been a brilliant day for laundry ....hmmm! Piles are piling!Went to supermarket and hobbled round. Foot complaining about all its unexpected activity yesterday! Whaddya mean jumping about with a hose pipe! And whaddya mean lugging washing machines out!Been keeping an eye out for a new to me sofa so going to see one tomorrow morning. Need to take my measuring tape with me .Made a pasta dish for tea. Using up stuff from fridge, was alright. Have made better though.Cut back grass, rain forecast tomorrow then it’s worky work. The back grass grows in clumps of longer grass. Did a bit of weeding and 2 bucket full of pruning.Picked a posy of pretty flowers. And it’s dark at 8.30pm12 -
Recent pleasures:

Breakfast out with OH yesterday - smoked salmon and scrambled eggs 🥚
Takeaway curry tonight - yum
Iceland delivery because I had £5 off
Clean bedding 😊10 -
1 Feeling a lot more upbeat
2 Using up freezer contents, tonight’s food is faggots and we treated ourselves to a grilled bacon roll for lunch.
3 We’ve bought a second hand commercial freezer we’ve been looking at for about a month now, it’s for the animal food, and then I had horrible ideas of what they could have been keeping in it, still it’s ours just have to arrange pick up in my car. It should be more economical than our 35 year old chest freezer.
4 The Mri showed the cause of DH’s pain, and he is now referred to a surgeon. I hope it is able to progress soon obviously I guess but the whole thing makes me nerous.
5 Using a clothes donation bag, as the CS’s around here aren’t accepting yet, I even checked them out online to make sure they are real.

Pleasures for today (Friday).
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son went out with his father for breakfast. He had not mentioned his bicycle accident so was able to spring that on him when he got in the car!
3) Made various phone calls and emails to the County Council and smaller son's (now completely useless) firm of solicitors. Still no help forthcoming from the solicitors. County Council want another chat with me on Zoom next week. I don't want chats, I want him to have a school place!
4) The MP's secretary phoned this morning to find out what progress had been made (none!) Amazingly, she is the only person that ever makes the effort to contact me. Everyone else I have to chase.
5) Hens OK.
6) I went into town and did the charity shops - a shirt for me and a Jack Wills t shirt for smaller son, for £5.
7) Bigger son drove us to get some hen food then we went into Ludlow for driving test practise.
8) Tasty tea of meat and mashed potatoes (we'll be eating a lot of those for a while!) and sweetcorn. Watermelon for pudding.
9) Had a chat with uphill neighbour as he wanted to know who the ambulance had been for. He has had the estate agents round to put his house on the market. He has promised us some damsons and I shall give him some courgettes.
The evening went downhill rather as Big Tooth (as the better of the 2 front teeth is now known) is causing 5 minute bouts of extreme pain that make bigger son have to lie down. Little Tooth (only about 3 mm left but no nerve) is no bother at all! The NHS 111 dentist seemed remarkably unbothered. His lip has deflated a lot so he looks better. Still a terribly scabbed nose and, as his chin deflates, the stitches are getting much more noticeable!12
