Hello. This is playing up so hopefully can post for today. A mixed day weather wise but currently pleasant. Sun is now shining though we’ve had wind, rain, sun, more rain.
Another quietish day. I’ve a couple of busy days coming up so I’m enjoying the peace.
Washing out and was almost dry when it started to rain so brought it in.DD2 had college induction but for now all learning will be online.Son will almost have completed his first week back at work since April. Not at all what he wants to do but a job is a job and he realises that.
DD1 went for a swim in the sea yesterday and a dog had a pee on her bag! Made me smile! ( probably not so much her)
Went to supermarket, I’m doing some catering at weekend so wanted to get a few bits for it.
Have made a savoury mince pie for tea with some roast potatoes ( leftover from work) and will have broccoli and cauliflower with it.Company of my doggy boy, currently sprawled out at my feet.13 -
well the conference is finished. no long journey back (though was to have been in Glasgow this year). so for today
1) woke to the sunrise again - beautiful. i love the light in september
2) as conference started 7:45 was more than happy to walk with dd2 to town at 11:30, especially as there was a break in the programme - she had a massage booked for 12. then found a new route coming back - 22 years in dundee and i never knew i could cut through that bit...
3) an afternoon of catching up on emails. they don't half breed!
4) scrummy aubergine and sausage casserole for lunch. Not DD2's type of food so 3 more portions for me in the fridge. aubergine pickle is the magic ingredient
5) walked boys up to mum's. lovely catch-up and now listening to Rachmaninoff Vespers. nice way to end the eveningMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A bit of a lie in as bigger son had his 4th (and probably final) driving lesson.
2) Hens OK.
3) Bigger son went to the dentist for round 2 of teeth rebuilding. She wants to extract Little Tooth (2mm left) but he will have to go to hospital to have that done after Coronavirus, as there is so little left. Big Tooth (5mm left) needs a root canal then probably a crown, but she can't do that as she isn't allowed to do any drilling! She was able to reconstruct Little Tooth a bit so he now has two tidy and matching front teeth, though they are only half as long as they used to be. No one would notice on meeting him for the first time - they look pretty good.
4) Next door neighbour gave us 2 bags of compost. His house is on the market so I had a sneaky look at the photos online (I haven't been in since MrN left) and he has made it look much better. The garden is 230 feet long and I'd be tempted to buy it myself, if I had the money!
5) FINALLY! Smaller son's driving licence arrived! Months after I sent off for it, and 5 weeks after his 17th birthday.
6) Smaller son also has a solicitor now - after 3 months.
7) Went into town at about 9 and managed to get smaller son to go for a walk.11 -
My post didn't seem to post yesterday.
For Tuesday
1. Had my appraisal at work - it's done and the right boxes ticked. Can forget about it now . I was honest in how I felt the last year had gone- badly in many ways so now recorded officially.
2. Spoke to some lovely people at work.
3. Long chat with colleague at end of the day and was reassuring as what she was saying is almost identical to what I think about work.
4. DS2 cooked lamb koftas which were yummy.
5. Time spent in the garden to relax me.
For Wednesday.
1. Worked in a different place - far more relaxed and much better to work there. Despite appointments being made incorrectly!
2. Managed to buy bits of shopping at Smiths in the hospital for half price which I hadn't managed to get at the supermarket. There were Sainsburys branded goods.
3. Had to put more grass seed down as hens seen to like to eat it! DH isn't too happy about it. It is small patches so will be a lot of work to cover them all.
4. Made a nice chicken, leek and pea fish which was good.
5. Watched rugby and after a dodgy period in the first half managed to win convincingly. Playing an away game at home must suit them.( Ground sharing til end of season)
Fingers crossed it will post today.11 -
For yesterday,
Various errands in horsey town, included a trip to emporium as feel current situation warrants close monitoring of stores.
Not so OS but pleased with two purchases delivered, one replacement for battery powered radio, inherited from DM and goodness knows how old.
The other was a new cookbook, From the oven to the table by Diana Henry, a recommendation and looking good for much needed inspiration.
Spent whole afternoon at yard, equine girlie upset & agitated in field, possibly due to hormonal changes so bought her in and gave her lots of fuss & attention.
The old adage of you tell a gelding but ask a mare is so true, very different creatures but once bonded the attachment is definitely stronger.
An hour spent in the garden, catching up each other’s days and enjoying a cold beer, seems like summer hasn’t finished with us yet.12 -
Another lovely sunny autumn day. The saying around here is 'Winter comes in with the last horse in the Leger' but now the Leger's been cancelled. Perhaps winter will be! I hate being cold anyway.
DH continues to improve. He's up and about and eating well. I think we'll rear him, as my dad used to say!
Have picked all the tomatoes that had not been nibbled by a mouse? or somesuch. Going to pick the grapes today. There are quite a few, but there are more pips than grapes so I just make grape juice. I suppose we could make wine but I can't be bothered with all that. The juice is good anyway.
Happy 🌞 day everyone12 -
DH has just pointed out that the Leger isn't cancelled; it's still being held but 'behind closed doors '. So winter can come in. Don't you just hate it when logic ruins a good story!

The Eagle's Head Bowed?
He looks upon Lady Liberty with his head bowed!
South Ferry in New York. Although we went their to go and climb to the top of the Statue of Liberty, I was amazed to see the Eagle looking to her. The stones around Eagle name the lost mariners on the US East Coast from both World Wars. Was also honoured not to see any family name on the stones. Made me look at emigration and why my family had not. Well one side were Farm Managers and the others were the labourers, or worked for support! As they were not poor.
Things playing up! Horse toon and toms! Snorker Casseroles! Top Food! Now with pressure from others, here is you BoP Dollop Today!
As I explained that I was inn the gym last eve, and now I thinks only one tweak away from being that Promenade Ready looks! As I is not aloud to says I could be beech ready anymore as it could seriously effect some persons.
Then home to catch ups on some quizzes on the ogle box! Million watched a bit, with cheeses and nuts too munch. had the fab food of Sardines on Toast as requested by BoPsie. Top Food! That means we has only one uni quiz left too watch.
Connected to the Docks again via the ether again. All is good and the trawlers are boated. Now even thoughs BoP is connect to the Docks, I still get the nice lady from the amazon ringing up saying I is to be billed. I again has manged too keep her on the phone yesterday for 30 minutes so she could not rip anyone off! Please ifs yous has a putah lick & do not do this!
Now I has done the towels as well as bee inn connected to the Docks! That means that BoPsie can enjoy her day at the Salt Mine! I packed her off again with her pack up of good things and a chocolate chip biscuit as well. Just lick BoP's foods! That well bee BoP's Elevenses!
Here's a thing, if your only pay the minimum on your credit card and the rate is over 17%. If your balance is £1,000, how close to bankruptcy are you?
Enuff pontificating from BoP!Chop is the answer to that?

1 The interview went well, my first via zoom, and the first time I have worn make up in a while, I think they did a good sales job on me I went in thinking it doesn’t matter if I get it, and walked away wanting the role.
2 Yesterdays leftover chicken is todays homemade curry and it has a bit of a punch to it I can’t wait, smells delicious.
3 Very sleepy, we have moved all the animals to one free range house group and there was some rather surprised squeaks during the early hours.
4 A vet has phoned us with a ferret needing a home, we will visit the vets tomorrow.
5 I’ve just bought Leonard and hungry paul in the hope it will be the easy read I need to re kick start my love of reading, having read some dross recently, I’ve just sat and read for an hour so yup I think it’s cured.
6 I phoned C0stco about our mattress and they were perfect, they will collect it and a full refund, but now which one for another one, it seems we can literally spend whatever you want on a new one from hundreds to thousands.

Hello. Just been out for the last doggy walk and brrr it’s chilly.Busy enough day.Made tablet ( Scottish sweet) . Just a half batch and it’s for a catering do at weekend. Also made chocolate orange brownie. Son got the scrapy bits of tablet from the pan and mixer.Went into town. Blooming roadworks everywhere. Parked at M&S car park...oh it’s a tight one! Gave a chap my ticket when I came out and he was quite delighted as he was just nipping in to collect something, it’s a minimum of a pound to park which is a pain! ( you get an hour for that )
Then went to Lidl. It was heaving! Oh my goodness so many people and not much social distancing! Did my best to stand back. There’s an app for Lidl and you can get £5 off your first £25 spend. I didn’t download it quick enough but will have it for next time.Home! Where there’s not loads of people!Did some flower arranging, I’ve six displays to do for catering event on Saturday so states to make a start and so roses would be open by then. Looking very pretty so far.Made the brownie. Then great nephew was dropped off ! Pah! Hard work as he just cried for much of visit. He’s not sure of doggy and doggy not sure of this crying creature. I took him out in his buggy and then DD2 did when she got in from work. It just made things a bit easier for everybody!Nice long chat to friend. And in between all that washing and tidying and never ending dishes with baking!More of same tomorrow without the baby!12
