Aw, new chooks Frith
For yesterday,
Cooler weather so no excuse not to do housework, pleasure is when it’s done!
Went out to the farm shop, only customer in there so time to browse.
Made some flapjack, thought that I had some cooking choc to drizzle on it but couldn’t find so made do with having it plain.
DSIL and partner popped in for a cuppa, found a sheltered spot and had a good catch up.
Going to bed and looked out of landing window to see Mr Fox crossing under the beech trees, he stalked the bunnies behind the old barn for a while but they had sentries out ready so he moved on.

Hello again
Had a foray to our local market today. Not a lot of stalls open but not too many people either, so that was ok. Seemed to be a lot of folk standing around, looking bewildered. Not sure if they were social distancing or just standing there like tripe at fourpence! Perhaps people thought that about us!
Was good to choose our own fruit and veg, and see what the butcher had to offer, though we have been very grateful to him for the weekly deliveries.
Long queues at banks and building societies. As we almost never go in our branch, that left me musing what they were all doing. Nosy! But I didn't go and ask!
Warm again now. Might do a bit more gardening.
Happy warm afternoon everyone

Hhmmmm............
Having a 'I miss everyone' day. Put food out for my birds but even missed seeing them.
Have changed bedding, cleared fridge, put washing on, cooked for Tiggy, prep for our meal, emptied bins, checked garden for poohs (millions of slugs and snails) sprayed oven with cleaner, drank loads of tea, took other half to doctor, went to bank to get cash, picked up medications. Why do I feel that I haven't done enough ?
Yesterday used the leftover roast chicken to make something akin to a cottage pie. Mixed it with courgette peas and leftover sweetcorn. Made a creamy mash, put in oven then topped with grated cheese for the last ten minutes. It was really tasty and OH had 3 helpings. First time ever !
Have a wonderful evening

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son went climbing with his friend, my brother and brother in law. His friend finished his A level in photography last year so his photos of bigger son climbing are very good - and some were taken using a drone!
3) Bigger son mowed all round the allotment, including the hen pen.
4) I got various jobs done and made lots of phone calls and sent lots of emails. Spoke to smaller son's solicitor at length about a meeting that the County Council want to have with me... emailed County and said I have a solicitor. Emailed my MPs secretary twice (they had tried to get County to do something). Phoned the battery hen rehoming place!
5) Popped to the garage and to post Ebay sales.
6) A belated birthday present arrived from a college friend - a honeysuckle plant. We made a new bed (by swapping a slab for half a slab) in front of the shed so hopefully it will grow all over that.
7) Had our 14th (?) weekly lockdown campfire on the allotment. Hot dogs, marshmallows and hot chocolate.
8) Sorted out cheap house insurance through Quidco. Went online (took ages) to renew tax credits and I realised you can see all other tax type things as well and there was a £98 refund waiting for me!
8) Overpaid mortgage a bit with Ebay sales.
9) In bed now and will watch Holby City in a minute.14 -
Will try and find five.
1. Colleague, who is a friend, worked with me for the first time since lovki. It was great seeing her again- I have spoken with her but it is good seeing her. It's a shame she is retiring in a couple of weeks.
2. Texts with a couple of frier.
3. Enjoyed my book.
4. Tea was tasty - a jam pie.
5. Did more accounts - pleasure is nearer to finishing.13 -
Recent pleasures:
Friend from Reading who was visiting her poorly mum locally, popped in and ended up staying for nearly 4 hours! Lots of chat to catch up on!
Friends came round for Chinese for the first time for months. It unexpectedly stayed dry so we could obey the rules and eat in the garden. Lovely food and lots of rose wine were consumed 😊
Admiring compliments for my nearly finished kitchen/dining room
Flowers flourishing in pots and garden. First day lilies out so the daily dead heading has commenced
Vegetable patch doing well, if a little behind so no produce yet although 5 out of the 6 new Autumn raspberry canes have failed 😟
Have a great day 😊15 -
For yesterday,
I placed a small lavender candle on my bedside table a few days ago and my sleeping does seem to have improved, haven’t even lit it yet but can smell it as I drift off.
Over at the yard, exercised girlie and gave her a good groom, she had been moved to a fresh paddock so had a bit of a food baby.
Three baby bunnies sitting next to the shed.
Evening walk around the field and have ear-marked some dried poppy head for harvesting.
Had a box of eggs needing to be used up so tea was a tasty frittata with steamed fennel, leftovers for today’s lunch too.15 -
Assorted pleasures so far this week......
Walks with dog in the park, seeing her delight at running around, chasing the ball.
Monday was the anniversary of my OH's death. It passed peacefully, I got various little jobs done so felt productive. A bottle of wine in the evening with son as we watched the film Eurovision, a feel good Netflix offering.
New scented candle for the kitchen windowsill (strawberry shortcake)
Got my stepmum's birthday present wrapped and ready to post. She will be 90 mid July so I bought her nine teas (geddit?) , nine different herbal/fruit teas wrapped up in a pretty storage box that she can use afterwards.
The day after her birthday is my son's 22nd birthday. I am getting him books and clothes which he needs and has said he wants. The parcels are arriving in good time so have been put away ready for wrapping later.
The antics of my cats and dog, a perpetual comedy show for free.
The first two mange touts from the garden.
Hearing last night that stepmum was home from hospital after spending a few days there with shingles- in her eye, of all places! I bet she and Dad slept well last night. One life - your life - live it!15 -
