Afternoon folks, belated Birthday wishes to those who had them when I was awol.
Had a really lovely, if hectic day yesterday so chilling out today.
Pleasures...a nice lie in, cuppa tea in bed and then got up and cooked bacon, scrambled eggs , mushrooms and grilled tomatoes followed by toast and homemade blackberry jam for me, Mr M and DD2 and her partner who stayed over last night.
Replaced the reed diffuser and wax melts changed, living room smells divine.
Book swap with DD3 yesterday so some new reading material to enjoy later.
Just popped a pork joint in the oven, having a Sunday roast later for dinner.
Mr M finished my new storage shelves for the garage ready for a bit of winter prepping, I am convinced we will have a long hard winter despite no logical reason for thinking this and with SIL1 to be made redundant at the end of July and SIL3 under the threat of redundancy I think a bit of extra planning Is needed at mine so can help out a bit if needed.Well Behaved women seldom make history

Pleasures today....
Watching the antics of the dog and the two boy cats as I sip my lemon and ginger tea in bed.
Pleasant walk with dog, dodged the raindrops.
Got two loads of washing on the line dried in double quick time. Gusts of wind around 40mph but the washing did not come off the line.
Batch of choccy crack made. Coconut oil, peanut butter, cocoa and sugar or sweetener melted in a saucepan till blended, poured into silicone ice cube trays and put in the fridge for an hour or so.
The smell of homemade bread in the oven.
Having a clearout of many years' worth of training manuals and notes. I have not looked at them for years so why the hell were they taking up space in my drawers?
Hearing son play his keyboard, he is self taught and it sounds good. One life - your life - live it!16 -
you can of course remain an honorary hatter bop
1) waking to John Bell (morning service radio 4) lovely music and food for thought
2) managed my 55 minute work-out then a well-deserved breakfast
3) short morning prayers online as we were hosting the SEC morning service. The diocese are taking it in turns - it's prerecorded - i was on reading 2 - it's our patronial feast (we're st paul's cathedral in dundee) and we had Rev James Milne from what we call 'the other st pauls' but also honorary canon with us doing the sermon. the joys of t'internet!
4) mrpiano's 40th so his sister and her gf came round for lunch then gbf came round staying in the front then he and i took the boys for a walk. then other friends came round (one household, wished him happy birthday from front garden) and his parents came round (back garden) and his brother and family all in masks and when they'd gone another of his friends called by - goodness it's complicated keeping to all the rules! but i think we did ok and mrpiano had a good time - good thing it wasn't raining!
5) a friend who's also a fb friend had contacted me about a parcel arriving at the home of a friend of his (in Dundee) and the name seemed to be on my friend's list on fb (it's my mum) - she delivered the parcel to mine (although pretty sure it was legit didn't want to give her mum's address) and turns out she lives 5 doors up from mum and her daughter is one of my daughter's guides. parcel now safely delivered, thanks to Facebook and a little detective work!

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son popped down to see my parents and go for a bike ride with my brother and returned with freshly picked cherries, raspberries and a bag of pasta!
3) Did various tidying jobs, froze raspberries, stoned and froze cherries, cooked the pasta for lunch.
4) Made a curry for tea.
5) Finished typing up the bits of my old dissertation that I wanted to do.
6) Ebay sales are strangely popular so I should get another £75 towards the mortgage.
7) Watched David Bowie at Glastonbury.14 -
My five for yesterday
making little mini crumbles for the freezer and one that I ate
lovely two and a half hour dog walk, a little windy but it blew the cobwebs away
watching the Eurovision film on my own uninterrupted
cuddles with the dogs
nice tea of sausages in buns which I managed not to burn. I don't cook oftenSpend less now, work less later.13 -
1. Went to Sissinghurst on pre booked tickets. It was a shame that the roses were past their best especially as they hadn't been dead headed. The rest of the garden was lovely though.
2. More gardening done and a neglected spot looks much better now and won't take much to keep it looking good.
3. Finished my book - The family upstairs- which I really enjoyed.
4. Washing dried on the line-up including as cushion I had washed.
5. Gammon for tea which was good.14 -
Great pic DD
For yesterday,
Pesky hay fever bad so awake early, pleasure of a hot honey & lemon and small dog cuddles.
Went to see my girlie and had a little jaunt around the fields, it was very windy.
One of my cacti has a fuzzy little baby growing on its side.
Neither of us fancied a roast type dinner so we had cheesy beans on toast instead.
We watched some of the best teatime Glastonbury slots and enjoyed a singalong.13 -
Ditto Lainey
we just had roast chicken sandwiches instead of a roast dinner. Neither of us feeling great. I keep getting an earache that is affecting my throat but every time I decide that I should call the doctor it disappears for a few days. Last night I couldn't get my teeth to meet but I have no problems with my teeth or gums. Everything swollen and puffy. This morning I am fine. Am perplexed.
Great antics in the garden this morning. 3 wood pigeons battling over 3 very separate piles of food. I create these piles so that they won't fight. Duh ! They are so silly.
Then a squirrel visited, stayed for a while and ate a good portion of the food for the birds. But best of all...........Flo the crow came with her little one who is still a little bit fluffy. I love seeing her. She behaved impeccably !
Have a wonderful day
