Happy belated birthday Frith
1. Enjoyed my walks.
2. Wore scrubs at work. Made by a tailor from shirt material and they were so cool. They were also given to me.Needed with PPE gear on.
3. Had a chat with my line manager (recently returned from maternity lleave( about various things. Explained that present situation just highlights problems. She seemed to listen but have been there before.
4. Long chat with my parents.
5. Reading my book in the garden with a glass of wine.14 -
Morning all - many happy returns, Frith.
Well done on getting Hubby and his ma back talking, PK
Pleasures for wednesday
1. Bike ride with OH in Derbyshire. The trail was fairly busy but it wasn't a problem to keep away from others.
2. Not so much the trip into Bakewell afterwards, for a pudding (not a tart). But we beat a retreat after our purchase. Nice town but for other times (and hardly any shops were open but it was still hard to maintain distance - would be impossible if all shops were open).
3. Went for a walk to a reservoir afterwards as we had time to kill before picking up our click and collect.
4. The menfolk watched the Villa draw while i dealt with the shopping and then had a sit down with two cups of tea. Think i might have been dehydrated.
5. Frittata to use up some of the many eggs i bought - we put leftover roasted veg from Tuesday in it. Worked well. Had it in the garden with a cheeky glass of chardonnay - though it was only about two mouthfuls each.
And yesterday
1. Two loads of washing completely dried on the line
2. Cracking on with my revisions
3. DD had the loveliest day - we persuaded her to walk to the shop, then she was in the garden under an umbrella (she hasn't stepped foot outside the house for weeks) and we've persuaded her to come to ICT as soon as we can go (probably about 3 weeks time). Then
4. We had a barbecue and then
5. DD, OH and I watched a film "That Beautiful Fantastic". A rather low-key pseudo fairytale. DD said it was one of her favourite films ever after watching it.
One for today in case i forget later - just had a lesser spotted woodpecker on my bird feeders. I don't recall ever seeing one before.
Have a great day all
I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday but first of all....
Happy Belated Birthday Frith. Those plant markers are beautiful.
I delivered some boxes of cat food that the fussy one said she didn't like any more to the local (ish) hedgehog rescue. The hedgie pigs aren't as picky as our furry pest.
Phone call from school to give me a time for a meeting with the HT's pupil progress leader (wouldn't have her job for a gold clock - she's amazing) and the overall head of maths. Fingers crossed they come up with some sort of help for him.
Drove past Asda on the way home from delivering cat fud and there wasn't a queue so went in. Obtained some food that the fussy one may approve of and the ingredients for making more ice cream. I may have accidentally topped up the wine rack too. I don't actually drink much wine but it's handy to have in sometimes.
Had a peaceful but warm afternoon. I turned off the cat's heated mat but after 3 hours of her whinging I switched it back on again, hence the peace. She has a fur coat for goodness sake!
Easy dinner. The HT had something heated up and I had salad. Chocolate ice cream and strawberries for me and an ice cream cone for the HT afterwards. Yum!
Take care all of you16 -
For yesterday,
Up early and watering the garden in my PJ’s at 6am.
We took the decision to visit the open air market in nearby cathedral city, got there at 8.30 and comfortably quiet, purchases included a huge punnet of strawberries, some cheese and, because I couldn’t face the idea of baking bread in heat, a large granary cob.
Lunch was bread and cheese ☺️
Walked into the sitting room and a small bird flew at me! Quickly got small dog away and then managed to usher it out of the open window, hedge sparrow by the look of it and luckily it wasn’t too scared iykwim.
Thought about having tea outside but so many thunder bugs around and didn’t fancy the added protein so retreated inside, we did watch the last couple of episodes of Staged and have now moved on to The Other One, very funny.

Busy day yesterday
Went to the nearby town in the morning. First visit in many weeks. All quite civilised. No queues for M/S, Debenhams, Boots, and very few people inside. In fact it can hardly be worth opening for them. Long queues for Primark and Greggs, but we didn't need anything from either of those.
We went to visit to a friend in the afternoon. Lovely to sit in the very warm garden and have a long chat, and a cold drink, and an ice cream.
Can't remember when we last did two things in one day!
DGS, aged 6, was up at 5:30 am yesterday, so excited was he about returning to school. He and DGD have had lots of good family days, and bike rides or walks every day, but it can't beat seeing friends!
Cloudier here today but still very warm. Too warm for housework really, but needs must!
Happy warm day everyone15 -

Wow Frith..........your sons are so talented. Glad you had nice birthday.
My OH is not well. I am worried.
I have been breaking the rules (I use that term loosely) by feeding my birds. They are paramount to my mental health. Or so I believe. Was rewarded this morning by watching Mummy sparrow feed baby sparrow. Believe it or not I have never seen that before in real life. It was so lovely. It made my day.
Had long text chat with my youngest niece. She is challenged academically and her sister and cousin are fabulous artists so she feels 'less than'. I have promised her a whole day to go arts and crafting where she can try different and new things. Don't know the logistics yet but she is over the moon as it will be just the 2 of us. I really feel for her because she tries so hard. Of course I now have to offer the same to the other 3. I love being an aunty.
Tiggy feeling the heat and letting me know. She won't step into water. I have tried.
Great hearing all your news.
Suffolk Sue............thinking of you. x

I HAVE A GOLD STAR and A MEDAL and a Title !13 -
thank thank you Bala ,it is hard to find pleasures as things here are deteriorating rather quickly now .Suppose the pleasure is he is not in any pain and his breathing problems are being eased ,the carers are lovely ,my son is supportive, and more care will be put in as needed .
but I so wish people ( sp nurse ,hospice etc) could come into the house ,they ring and talk but I miss human contact so much .DH has no voice at all now and not enough strength to always work the remote .
His intelligence is unimpaired,so knows exact what is happening ,sometimes I wish he didn’t
thank you all19
