Oooft it’s far too hot and goodness knows how I actually survived living and working in an actual blooming hot country for so long ( oh yes I moaned a lot and at least it will be back to wooly jumpers here by next week!Anyway oooft! It’s hot. Set alarm for 6am but was up about 4.30am. Had been asked to bake some cupcakes for a friend, well! I was like blooming goldilocks! First lot were too dark, second lot were too pale and thankfully after a nip to the supermarket for more food colouring the third lot were just perfect.
By which time I had an overflow of cake! So ended up messaging neighbours and doing doorstep deliveries! Friend was happy with them and very generous. That’s the bit I feel very awkward with. But it’s another addition to my garden table fund!Chatted to mum on phone, rather than go round. But I’ll need to tomorrow.
Didn't really venture outside as it was just to hot other than to hang/ bring back in washing. I’m such a wimp!16 -

I’ve just discovered a new pleasure!:
lying back in my zero gravity chair looking at the crescent moon listening to my favourite music on blue tooth headphones 🎧 in the cool of the evening! This is new to me and it’s so much better than being inside falling asleep in front of rubbish tv!
other pleasures:
the hot tub
coronation chicken, jersey royals and salad for dinner
cool rose wine
new twinkly solar fairy lights in the garden
feeling very lucky😊😘

Happy Birthday Frith
1 Ahh the folio book jumped into my basket, I don’t know now if I will keep it for Christmas for DB or maybe earlier.. I have to admit I am rather hoping there might be a mystery book but it looks like I’ve missed their offer, too many book things to keep up on.
2 Dinner today was cold, bits of quiche, salad, new pots and an egg just various bits.
3 It was very still here today the in the sun temp gauge hit 40, the air con was left on 21 all night for the fuzzies and most of the day.
4 DH caught up with his mum, a pleasure for me as I got them talking at the beginning of this peculiar time.
5 Floors mopped and furniture moved etc to try and get it right, we sat in the garden in the shade for an hour while the floors dried.

Thank you for the birthday wishes.
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Breakfast in bed, cooked by smaller son.
2) Bigger son made me plant markers for the garden.
3) More gubbins arrived by email from smaller son's potential solicitor. Also an email from our local councillor about the development across the road that no one wants in the form it is in at the moment.
4) Went to mum and dad's for lunch and my sister and brother in law were also there. We socially distanced at 3 tables in the garden. This was OK, except it was 32 degrees! It was absolutely stifling so no one could really get up/go for a walk or do anything.
5) Got home and a parcel was waiting on the door step from my school friend. 2 books and some very warm fudge, which went into the fridge for a while.
6) Some excitement at tea time. I had facebooked messaged the Indian with our order (our first ever delivery, thanks to their delivery area extending to 10 miles during lockdown!) 6 o'clock came and went and you don't want to ring and make a fuss as it is a longish drive and very hot. I was cooking the rice (always moneysaving) and that was done... It got to 6.30 and I phoned and the owner sounded delighted as some appalling mishap had happened to his phone and he had several people that he had no means of getting in touch with! It was delivered by 7 and we had complimentary popadoms and baklava!
7) Did the online quiz with bigger son.
8) Watered the garden.
9) My school friend phoned.
