Just love and virtual support being sent to you Sue .Well I’ve just had a rant and a rave about the untidiness of my supposedly adult children! I am growling. Even the dog was keeping out my way. I don’t lose my temper often but I’d just had enough tonight!Prior to that had had a lovely long chat with my friend on phone ( repeatedly asking for laundry to be taken upstairs ( repeatedly since yesterday)
Prior to that nephew in law and his mum had driven by to pick something up so it was nice to chat to them for first time since lockdown.
Was lashing with rain ( like seriously lashing) first part of day and then had brightened up to a nice evening, did some deadheading in garden.Went to mums for an hour or so. Hoovered and did a couple of phone calls for her. Put her shopping away.
Went to supermarket! Bah! Far too busy when I went, folk not maintaining anything like a safe distance and not sticking to aisle directions. Bu I did get two RTC plants!Picked a post of purple flowers from the garden, so many shades of purple.17 -
S Sue
Thank you for updating us.
It is so sad that you are so isolated from human contact at a time when you need it most.
Sending you lots of love and hugs xx15 -
Thinking of you, SuffolkSue.
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) A lie in.
2) Ebay sales went remarkably well. One charity shop shirt I bought for about £4 sold for £41 - I doubt it cost that new!
3) Listed more items for sale.
4) Someone left the freezer door ajar overnight so it had to be defrosted completely (as it had turned into an iceberg in its efforts to ice up the gap round the door). Good to clean all the drawers out. Some things had melted more than others so I used a great quantity of fish as fish cakes and lots of different sorts of fruits in a crumble.
5) Went to nearest town to post the Ebay bits.
6) Stopped off at the allotment to unload muck from the car and to picked currants and raspberries. It was insanely hot.
7) Did a load of washing then a second load of all the towels we had needed when defrosting the freezer.
8) Watched Gardener's World.
9) It's gone a lot cooler!15 -
Suffolksue sending virtual hugs your way.
1. Work was good - overtime but doing the different job which I enjoy. People were friendly.
2. Lunch supplied as usual but a delivery of lovely macaroni cheese. It tasted good even in the heat.
3. Managed a quick snooze when I got home earlier than normal.
4. Picked peas from the garden. I love sitting outside in the sun in peace and quiet shelling peas. It seems like summer.
5. I prepared tea by marinating the chicken drumsticks then DS2cooked it all.
6. Planted out some plants which arrived as plug plants but have got to a reasonable size.
7. Enjoying my book.16 -
My love and thoughts are with you SuffolkSue.
For yesterday,
It rained first thing but didn’t cool it down at all and by 10.30 it was blistering hot again.
Went over to see my girlie, she had obviously got wet in the rain and then rolled in the dust, not a good look for a very light grey! Too hot to work her so just pampered.
The hedge is in blossom and full of pollinators.
More rain and thunder during the afternoon, I like a good storm.
Tea was pizza with various salads, even with a north facing kitchen it wasn’t pleasant having the oven on but worth it for a tasty tea.15 -
Thinking of Suffolk Sue
first takeaway - Indian in the garden, friend joined us. It was delicious 😋
tried my elderflower champagne. It was quite sweet but I enjoyed it with 🍋 and ice, friend didn’t seem impressed!
I've now got doors on my integrated dishwasher and washing machine. Looks much better and the dishwasher door now stays open when I need it to!
Booked ticket for Jack Savoretti car concert for September. Very excited as we were going to see him at Newmarket races but this is very local. Friend decided she’d like to come as well.
Booked tickets for NT Wimpole Hall gardens for Thursday, hope it doesn’t rain.
Have a great weekend 😊😊16 -

Pleasures for yesterday
1. the aforementioned lesser spotted woodpecker on my bird feeder
2. Sitting in the garden under the umbrella in a bit of a breeze - much more pleasant than in the house
3. A walk around the neighbourhood, stopping off in the cemetery to look at some of the commonwealth war graves - including one of a 16 year old who was in the home guard
4. OH cooked goulash - was yom
5. Family film night - OH's choice "Tracks". halfway through i realised that i had seen it before.
Have a great day all - the Villa are playing at lunchtime so a stressful house here...I wanna be in the room where it happens16 -

Jenny sends her beat to the needy!
Now it is on with BoP bits!
Just doing the refrigerator, as we has a bit of an iceberg on the back! Must be the cooling of the wobbleades that has caused it! So i has thrown out BoPsie cheese of cottage, that is only milk gone off. Now we has moor room for me wobbleades!
Shud has bin Veterans Brakefest this morning, but again we are not meeting up to check on each other. It is also 50 years since Korea and around where BoP libes, there are now a few aging vets from that! Also it is Armed Forces Day and BoP has a link for you. From Skeggie at 2 this day! https://www.facebook.com/embassy.theatre.skegness/ The Blighty Belles. Give them your support.
Watched another flix last nite, Uphill all the Way! BoPsie got excited as it had a cameo from Burt Reynolds. Bit over the top and good. Cheeses and wobbleades were consumed! Was looking inn to the Florence Foster Jenkins, but skin flint BoP is not paying for it, so it will has too be on the rak service when I get a freebie!
No elevenses this day as I will be cleaning out the Refrigerator ready to cool me wobbleades! Just waiting and watching cricket at the moment. Ready for The Hatters later.
That is all today!
Keep your hands free!

Suffolk Sue, it must be such a difficult time for you. Love and hugs to you and yours.
1. Rained over night and sunny again now so no need to water the garden today.
2. House all clean and sparkly, windows cleaned inside and out
3. Settled down with a cuppa waiting for the footie.
4. Girls and partners coming later so looking forward to that...lots of lovely buffet food to share currently half prepped and in the fridge so just the warm food to do later.
5. The dogs are on squirrel patrol again now it’s a bit cooler and had an early morning walk so that was nice as the last couple of days they have spent spread eagled on the floor in front of the fan.
