Yesterday was a good day!
Met my friend at a local garden centre. They were serving coffee and cake as a sort of takeaway idea but with tables and chairs dotted about outside. It felt almost normal!
OH's friend came round in the evening and we sat outside until almost 11, drinking wine and chatting. I love warm summer evenings. It's my favourite part of going abroad. It's so rare here that it would be a crime to sit inside!
And caravan sites can open on the 4th July. Our static caravan is completely self contained so we can be as isolated as we want, but can still walk down to see the sea. Will be a real treat!
Today the gasman cometh, to do the boiler service. And it's hot, hot ,hot. He usually has to put the central heating on to check something or other. That will be fun!
Happy 🔥🔥 day everyone

Hello! Just recovering from a fall! DD2 had ordered a food delivery and chap was at door I stood up ( attempted to ) and somehow went full face plant down on hard floor! Full length. Clunk! Waaaaaaah! Twisted my knee a bit and maybe even dented my pride as chap waited at door to check I was okay!Prior to that I’d been industrious for most of day.Dull start but brightened up and warmed up as day went on. We got to 20o so hardly same as south of England but after days of heavy rain it was nice to be dry!So much washing to catch up on. And is now up to date.
Bathrooms cleaned ...until son came in from mountain biking ( days of rain = mud!) and DD2 came in from work!Hoovered upstairs and downstairs. Dusted. Tidied kitchen.Lovely doggy walk this afternoon but was starting to get warm so I’m glad we got back when we did.Watching a baby sparrow in the garden. Both out front and back. Little cutie!Cut the grass. Had to wait till all the wet had dried.Alarm clock set for first time in ages, I’m baking for a friend tomorrow so need to do so whilst it’s a bit cooler.16 -
Steady, Mhags!
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son cycled off to try out the new pump track (what we would call a BMX track)
3) Washing dried in about 5 minutes on the line.
4) Did some dissertation. (I'm making it more interesting and retyping it, as it is a local history thing).
5) Received email from the lady who is very likely to be smaller son's solicitor. Filled it all in, signed it remotely!
6) Went to the shop for eggs and bits and they had cleared out a freezer so were giving stuff away for free (it was in date, but thawing in their fridge). So we had free pizzas and garlic bread!
7) Tasty wraps for tea with HM chicken tikka, rice and roast peppers and onions.
8) Watched the Man Utd match and sons had the pizzas and garlic bread.
9) Enjoyed the final of Great British Sewing Bee.

Bop, your post has made me crave a grill up.
1 A roast dinner with the works, pork crackling, stuffing, carrot, sweetcorn, sprouts, swede mash and apple sauce, was delicious.
2 An early start this morning and most bits are at least up to date ish so not running about doing house work, towels cleaned, I wondered why our bedroom curtains hadn’t been washed and then I took them down, good grief they are the worst hanging hooks I’ve ever come across I muttered a lot taking them out and putting them back in and up they stay with the house from now on.
3 Enjoying watching the flowers coming out the passionflowers, some squatter rights Lilly’s, that I thought I got rid of because of their beetle, and hydrangeas, the garden also had some amazing red admirals in today, just stunning.
4 The campsite we stay at is opening up again next month, but we feel it is too soon and I also think everyone will be clambering, I suspect more spikes so we will hold back a while yet.
5 The shopping was delivered from Mr T, and its lovely, fresh and all there, such a pleasant change. I have to say I like it being delivered and the priority thing makes it cheaper, but it’s still more than would normally pay. But lunch was on a lovely seeded baguette. Lovely to walk into the kitchen and it’s smelling of cinnamon and pineapple.

1. Messaging a neighbour throughout the day. She kept me smiling.
2. Response of people when collecting for colleagues retirement present. She is well liked and her calm presence will be sorely missed.
3. Chat with couple of people on my walks at work. I didn't recognise someone- longer hair, mask and sunglasses are a good disguise.
4. DS2 cooked tea which was goid.
5. Time spent in the garden. Weeding and dead heading and relacing.
6. Instead of an hours induction at his new job DS1 stayed all day and worked. Not doing the job he is starting today but where he was needed.15 -
For yesterday,
Up early and a few bits done around the house before it got too warm.
Out to the feed store for horse chaff and picked up a fly mask with 70% off, girlie has managed to poke her ears through the current one but then again it was inherited from my old horse so didn’t owe me anything.
Delivered the food and walked out to the paddock with an apple but already very hot out there so gave her a good back scratch and came home.
Small dog insists on being with me at all times so got her paddling pool out and she stood in it whilst I was planting up next lot of salad leaves, my old dog would lay in the cool water but this one just snaps at any bubbles.
Tasty tea of Miso and Honey roasted chicken thighs plus salad, the meat was due to be used up otherwise we might just have had salad, boy what a scorcher!

Good afternoon all, pleasures for yesterday..........
A slow start to the day as it wasn't one of the HT's school days. We were still up early but there was no rush to be showered and dressed.
Messaged the hedgehog rescue to see if they'd like the unopened packets of food that the fussy cat didn't want. They said yes.
Altered two dresses so know I have something to wear if it gets really hot
Home made ice cream, yum.
I fixed the HT's hair.....with scissors. Hopefully I've shortened it enough to stop the none stop moaning until he goes for his pre-booked haircut on the 4th of July.
Take care all of you
