1. A lie in for me. Still up hours before rest of house though.
2. Drizzle in the morning so got wet cleaning out the chickens. They wouldn't get out of my way though!
3. Went to local garden nursery. He had loads of different plants today. It is very reasonably priced and so I tend to buy more!!
All plants are now planted.
4. Drink in the garden.
5. DS2 cooked tea liver and bacon for DH as he is only one that likes it.13 -
Hoping Haggis dog is feeling better.
Sorry Cranky, that’s not something that I have any experience/knowledge of, could your local CAB help?
For yesterday, thinking of my Dad.
A good nights sleep as slept right through.
Listened to the latest Archers omnibus, must admit am missing the usual format but entertaining enough.
Made a big lasagne for lunch, plenty for leftovers.
Visit from eldest DSS, great couple of hours sitting in the garden and he went home with lasagne too. His brother is due down next w/e so degree & job celebration anticipated.
Enjoying my latest book, a Donna Leon novel set in Venice and one of the book fairy’s delivery ☺️14 -
Good morning from a rainy Central Scotland.Hope this post, posts
.
Good reading all your posts. Like the pics BOP. I was a waitress in the late seventies at the Winter Gardens for Weddings and the Saturday Night D&D. Was forbidden by my Dad to work Wednesdays as my school work came first. Found out later that Wednesday nights were a bit dubious.
Thanks for the Donna Leon recommendation Lainey. I am looking for a new book series.
Hope all pets are better.
My 5,
1. Work is still stable, this has been great for keeping me busy and the pennies coming in. Very grateful for my Scandinavian employer for making it very easy to do everything here.
2. OH visited on Saturday, now as one to one households can stay we don't need to clock watch.
3. Fledglings are all away. Hope they are safe. Mother Blackbird doing a sterling job with the slugs.
4.Home made soup for lunch. Welcome as it is cool here.
5. Picked up a stone trough. Will try an Alpine garden. Any tips?

Morning all
Tiggy de-stitched. Hopefully won't see vet again until she needs her booster shot.
Cranky, I would get legal advice asap. POA has to be signed by person with full faculties. This is my understanding. I could be wrong. CAB normally great.
Was walking Tiggy up and down whilst waiting to go into the vet. A lady in her 70's approached me and asked me 'Are you any good on your knees' ? I had to laugh...........she had dropped her keys under her car and couldn't reach them. Never been asked that before !
Having a morning awash with feelings of gratitude. Thoroughly enjoyed talking to all the other pet owners waiting patiently. It was lovely just to chat in the sunshine.
Have a wonderful day

Just around the corner ...
Is a tad blue, but this was on the weigh back from the Golden Gate!
Kedgeree, proper food! But Eton mess is just smashed up maranges!
Novels on Venice. I feel that Casonova is about to hit the Parish!
On the Megrains! Was told a few years back to keep the contrast the same, had mes sinuis drilled out and sorted. Don't use the 'putah in bad contrast, light on, and if the window outside is like Raffles BBQ whether, close the blind! And drink water! BoP is not a quack, he avoids them!
Cranky, re post of BoP and Step Mother. Get you rights sorted. I did twenty years back!
Now with the nice things happening inn BoPsVille!
Watching the cricket again, not the Aussies, but the St Africans. They be getting thrashed. Elevenses are served and cake of Jaffa is being tested. Nice!
Watched Rear Window last nite. He was just a grate big nosy parka really. Cheeses and cocoa was drinked. Raffles missed his treats as I think he was over fed on the BBQ on SatDay.
Just bin to the emporium A1D!. Got loads inn, snorkers, mushrooms and best back, as well as some strawbs and bits. Also Raffles got his Jelly Fishes as well! Got some decent tarts of Bakewell as well! Tum is going to be well rubbed this weak during elevenses!
Had the poached egg on toast this morning, then had to crack open the blackcurrant jam. Nice. Tea was drinked.
Ali has just got one of the SA's out. Game is won I thinks? Just watching him over the last few weaks, he certainly improved his spin in that time.
Nows offs to get the luinceon readied. Toms, Peppers, Ham, strawbs, orange and blueberries. Water will be drunked.
Thats is all for the day.
You just need another cup of tea now!

Thanks bala, I've spent the morning on the phone to various people and the matter is now in hand. I was dreading trying to track down his social worker as it's a London Borough and when they said I'd get a call back as there was no number for her I thought it would takes ages. It actually took 15 minutes. The social worker is aware of the problems, was delighted to hear from me and will keep me up to date. We have agreed that for the moment there is no need to take action but the social worker is going to see Dad as soon as possible with a view to discussing what should happen if his girlfriend becomes incapacitated.
I think I'll have that as pleasure number one for today if that's ok? Dad has always wanted us to treat his girlfriend as if they were married and we have done our absolute level best to do that. There is now the start of a safety net in place in case that arrangement goes horribly wrong.13 -
Good luck with everything Cranky.
So glad you had what seems to be great communication with social worker.AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo

CRANKY There is some excellent information on the Office of the Public Guardian site about POAs for future reference.

Evening all...
Hope you get your problems sorted Cranky - could one of the other boards here be of any use?
Pleasures for yesterday
1. A beautiful start to the morning inspired OH and i to get up and out. A 6 mile, 2 hour walk across the fields. it was glorious.
2. The weather changed almost as soon as we got home - so it staying dry while we were out is another pleasure
3. Despite 2. the washing was fairly dry when i brought it in.
4. Watched 2 episodes of Anne with an E while the menfolk watched the Villa lose
5. A virtual pub evening with only two friends. much less chaotic than they've been of late.
And today
1. Have really, finally, got to grips with my corrections today...
2. Did yoga
3. a smorgasbord of things that need using up for lunch - similar but hot random things from the freezer for tea
4. My SiL sent me a Glastonbury t-shirt as a 'well done for passing' present. really thoughtful though i will probably only wear it for yoga - but i will wear it a lot.
5. Probably going to have family film night - DD's choice.
Have a lovely evening.I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Hello. Very lazy morning. I don’t really like lazy. It feels wasteful and negative. But it’s how I felt this morning.
However when I got up I was slightly more energetic . Tidied up ( again ...it’s a constant ) . Felt happier being tidy.
A day of much wet. Such heavy downpours but managed to get out with dog whilst a bit dry or just a bit of drizzle. Went a decent walk where he was off lead for a bit. Nice smell from wild roses.Watched Masterchef Australia.
Drove into town looking for something particular but couldn’t find it. But it was out ! Though not everyone very good at staying out the way! Back off!15
