Yesterday
Went to m/s food. Very long queue that didnt seem to be moving. Back in the car and went to Sainsbury's. Queue of 2 others moved very quickly. Got everything needed except icing sugar!
Planted up a new mint plant. Old one was very woody with about three leaves on top. My mum used to say mint grows well when the woman of the house wears the trousers. I clearly need to up my game!!I
Today
Going to meet a friend at a local garden centre this afternoon. We're taking a flask but can sit in their lovely gardens for a natter, then have a wander round the plant shop, and deli.
Bop. Our old freezer was 21!! Should have had a party for it really. It's still working but is in the garage as an overflow freezer. The new one is auto defrost. Will have to see how that goes.
Happy 🌞🌞 day everyone12 -
1 Tea was faggots, new pots and veg rather tastey, and I finished off ice cream to make space for tomorrows delivery, sounds like a good enough reason.
2 Okay we resorted to a DH lockdown haircut as he has driven me around the bend,
3 A bit of weeding, then inside to air con.
4 My garden watering, aka therapy where I put the world to rights is done.
5 The folio sale, dangerous on my wallet at all times, thou I may have found DB’s Christmas gift.

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son and my brother cycled to the top of the Clee Hill then had a cup of tea in the garden. All 2 metres apart.
3) Sardines and avocado on toast for lunch.
4) Campfire on the allotment.
5) Watched a Zoom lecture on the stained glass in the former synagogue on Eldridge St in New York. I even asked a question!
6) Smaller son hoovered and steamed the floors downstairs and cleaned the stairs.
7) I made fairy cakes with glace cherries.
ETA 8) Cut bigger son’s hair (a skin fade) and it went ok.
Appalling hayfever this evening. Already on maximum dose tablets and it's insane - hives, itching, sore mouth, swollen face, itchy ears (!), nose and eyes dreadful. I shut all the doors and windows at 6pm, had a shower and put clean pollen free clothes on, have sat in front of the fan since then but nothing is working.15 -
1. A day working which I enjoyed - needless to say I wasn't doing my normal job!! No stress and I'm sure why I slept better the night before.
2. Lunch provided and bottles of water.
3. Picked and ate cherries, raspberries and strawberries from the garden. They were all very good.
4. Cooked another new recipe to me which was good.
5. Drink in the garden with DH and DS1
6. Chat with neighbours15 -
For yesterday,
Toasted Oats & Honey soda bread for breakfast.
Hot at yard so work was minimal, grazed girlie in hand for a while and day dreamed.
Got ahead of myself and made a couple of salads plus hummus.
Tried to do some weeding but too hot in back of garden so came in and read my book.
Watched and enjoyed Talking Heads.

Recent pleasures:
kitchen/dining room work nearly finished and no builders here today! Feels like it will never be completely finished but we have finally got bricks where a small window used to be.
new fascias and gutters at the back so no ongoing maintenance😊. What about the front?😟
Helped elderly neighbour on Saturday as she was feeling really unwell. Been in hospital for a few days with probably a kidney infection.
lovely lilies, poppies and other flowers flourishing in the garden
good walk early in the morning yesterday before the heat, even saw a small muntjac
enjoying the hot tub and the red kite seems to fly over whenever I’m in it! 😊
Enjoy the 🌞 everyone.

Morning all - a day off for me with a bike ride in the sunshine..
Pleasures for yesterday
1. A walk with a friend and a picnic - all distanced of course. She is headed back to her house in France on Monday for the rest of the summer - not the 6 months she'd planned but is happy to be able to go at all. I have an invite, but i am unlikely to be able to go.
2. Visited the farm shop on the way home. Stocked up with fruit and veg again.
3. Made spicy chicken goujons for tea with roasted veg to use stuff up.
4. I have little tiny buds on some of my tomatoes - exciting!
5. Family film night - my choice. Inside Llewyn Davies - slightly odd but watchable. Wish i'd gone for my other option, but i'll save it for next time.
6. Bonus 6th - the window cleaner came. Just as i was thinking of doing them myself
I wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday....
I was looking at the "treat boxes" now being delivered from a local cafe and thought I could probably make that for the HT and his best friend so......waffles, brownies and vanilla ice cream all made and ready to be constructed into treat form later today
I went to Sainsburys (nearest supermarket) for fruit. No queue and in and out very quickly
The HT came home from school in a good mood.
While I was making treat box things I also made courgette and cream cheese soup for me. Yum!
Chat with my sister - a real chat with voices. We message each other a lot because usually when one of us is free the other is busy but we both had some time to spare at the same time yesterday.
take care all of you14 -
