Up bright and early, bedding changed and pooches walked. Sorted out the freezers that live in the garage and made some space for tomorrow’s batch cooking session .
This afternoon sat in the sunshine, reading and doing nothing. Lovely dinner and then watched a couple of episodes of The Street.
Wine and nibbles time now, listening to music and putting the world to rights with Mr MWell Behaved women seldom make history

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) LO Woolton Pie for lunch and broccoli, cauliflower and pasta cheese bake for tea.
3) Did lots of cleaning this a.m including floors and the bathroom.
4) Took an escape room for mum, dad and my brother to do in their garden. We set it out while they stayed inside then retreated down the drive while they worked on it. They solved it with seconds to spare!
5) Did the Virtual Pub Quiz.
6) Going to re-watch Gardeners World now as I fell asleep watching it in bed last night.

Pleasures today.
Early walk in park with dog. Met with dogwalker who before lockdown took my dog out on the days I was at work. He confirmed he will be able to resume dogwalking soon so I will let him know when my son is due to go back. A weight off my mind, knowing dog will get her walk once lockdown eases.
Downstairs polished, surfaces damp-dusted with mix of rose and peppermint oils on damp cloth.
Tidying in the garden, watering plants, moving table and chairs on to the lawn. All done in glorious sunshine with birds shouting their heads off.
Lunch outside in the sunshine, cheese omelette and salad, fruit salad and yoghurt for afters, water and red wine to drink.
Assisted son to put together two small outdoor armchairs. They are now on the patio, awaiting the arrival of the firepit that I have ordered. I have visions of summer evenings outside by the fire, looking at the fairy lights, listening to a bit of soft jazz music, chewing on a griddled marshmallow, heavenly. One life - your life - live it!14 -
Have just lost a long post
1. Worked which was good. I did overtime doing paperwork for swabbing. It was enjoyable with friendly, helpful people. I makes a huge difference who you work with.
2. Lunch was provided as was coffee and water.
3. Walk at lunchtime in search of llamas but couldn't find any In the area we could walk in. I wasn't working at the hospital.
4. Enjoyed sitting in the garden to relax with a cup of herbal tea.
5. Vegetarian tea which everyone ate and not too many complaints.13 -
Sounds good Nargle
For yesterday,
Went to the yard, my girlie’s best friend is a piebald, traditional cob who lives in the field next to her. She has cottoned on to the fact that when I turn up with a bucket it usually means there are apples in there, my girlie bites off half and I hand the other over!
So many families out exercising together, walking or riding bikes, hope to it continues when restrictions are lifted.
Pleasant afternoon pottering in house or reading my book.
Evening walk followed by a sundowner in the garden whilst watching the juvenile sparrows testing their wings.
Tasty tea of pork burgers with broccoli & courgette salad.

Pleasures for last few days:
sunny days🌞
breakfast and or lunch in the garden
using the hot tub for the last few days. Probably it now for a week as weather changes
celebrating neighbour’s 90th birthday in her garden with other neighbours joining in over the fence
shopping deliveries a little easier to get hold of 😊😊
Enjoy the rest of Sunday everyone 😊13 -
Morning all - bit wild and windy here today
Pleasures for yesterday
1. enjoyed the last of the warm sunshine for a while - especially as it was my first saturday in forever that i did no work
2. enjoying my book - it's a Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling) Strike book
3. Went for a long cycle ride with OH - we did 17 miles around the villages. Really enjoyed it, we are newly appreciating where we live. we got home just as it started raining
4. DD is struggling mentally at the moment and she made some cup cakes, which is good - they were yummy
5. Virtual pub with friends - after the row with BiL i stayed mostly silent, but it passed off OK>
Have a good day everyone, chillier here. i have a bath planned and an ikea unit to build for my conservatory.
I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
vjsmum I too didn't do a walk yesterday because it felt like a chore. and today winter has returned so i have put the heating back on. Just listening to morning service then will go have a nice bath. for yesterday
1) Finale of realstartplus - that's 4 weeks of workouts. finished with ski sit - managed 2:30 which is well over 2 minutes longer than what i managed in the fitness test before starting
2) a friend delivered another book for me plus 2 small bottles of Prosecco. Random acts of kindness(I had joked I was a failure as an Episcopalian cos i can't open a bottle of Prosecco so apparently they're to practise on
3) Have cut down and tacked first of 2 very heavy curtains for the music room. They were passed onto me a couple of years ago. There will be material left over to make smart tie backs and a cover for the piano stool., and perhaps enough to make a cover for the unglamorous laundry basket that has the spare dog food in (the mouse found it in when it was under the stairs in the bag, and putting the laundry basket in there left no room for the vacuum cleaner)
4) another friend dropped off Peter May's Lockdown which is the next book for book club
5) dd2's turn for supper. chicken nuggets, sweet potatoes and veg. I never used to like sweet potatoes. Was scrummy
Then MrPiano called and after that the weather was cold and blustery and a walk seemed a chore rather than a pleasure. The boys didn't seem upsetMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

I absolutely swear that it is the same young crow that visits numerous times a day. It has a thin white streak down one side and I don't know if this is a missing feather or natural. It's also the crow that has the courage to pop into the kitchen to raid Tiggy's bowl of dry food. It allows me to get closer everyday. Even the sparrows sit on the fence and wait whilst I tear up bread or throw seeds.
The thing is..............what did they do all day before ?
If I wasn't out there at the crack of dawn the seed or bread would sit there all day. Now the garden is like Piccadilly Circus until sundown.
I am not complaining regardless of the copious amounts of pooh. I am taking great great joy in the whole shebang. And the birdsong is sublime. I also chat to them as I do with Tiggy further confirming to my neighbours that some marbles have gone missing.
I have a very large terracotta pot in the garden and as I had successfully grown 2 celery things (used the bottom which I would normally throw away) I planted them in the pot. Some little blighter has dug them up and absconded !
I watched a fox checking the pot but wouldn't have thought that celery was their thing. It's so wonderful to see the emergence of wildlife in an urban area. Those of you that live in rural areas are so lucky. I cannot wait until all the stars align and it's my turn to find my forever home. Having said all that I am very grateful for the roof I do have over my head. I do hope and pray that this situation will put a rocket up someone's bottom regarding the homeless. Amongst other pertinent and ferociously important areas of concern.
My lovely neighbour, in her 80's, has seen how well she is loved. Everyone around is keeping an eye. They have even bought food for her so I have focused on fruit and tulips.......her favourite flowers. Only managed one bunch so far for obvious reasons. These ones hailed from Norfolk. The avocado I gave her didn't go down well because she hasn't ever had one. Shows how much can be taken for granted.
lovely people..........have a wonderful day

Well, that's a definite change in the weather. So glad I spent most of yesterday outside.
Bala. I agree about wildlife. We have seen lots more birds in the garden. And our resident blackbird sings more loudly and more beautifully every day.
Was going to go for a walk today but decided on yoga instead! My shoulders feel better already.
Made a Saturday night curry. This involves fishing all the leftovers out of the fridge, and any past their best veg, and making a curry with whatever meat or fish seems to go best. It's a new lockdown habit, and so far the results have been good.
Started to sew together knitted bunting that DD started and abandoned over a year ago. Think it will be ok in the garden, and it will be one more thing out of the cupboard.
Made blueberry muffins to a recipe from costa coffee. I think mine are nicer than theirs, but then it's so long since I went to a coffee shop, I've forgotten what theirs are like!!
Happy chilly day everyone
