A can complete contrast in the weather today, cold and windy. Lots more birds and wildlife here too, although I did freak out a bit yesterday when I thought I glimpsed a rat, I have a phobia of rats, so was relieved that it was in fact a squirrel whose tail wasn’t bushy at all. It did look strange.
pleasures for today
Full English breakfast with a pot of tea
Wax melts changed, lemon and lavender fragrance....smells divine.
Did a bit of batch cooking, waiting for it to cool and then will freeze it for later.
Journal updated, it really is strange reading back the last couple of months with all planned events, holidays and family visits cancelled. But in a few years time will be interesting remembering about life in lockdown.
Mr M has bought me a bike, really excited for it to arrive. Been a while since I went cycling, hopefully it’s one of those things you never forget how to do......or if any of you happen to notice a 50 odd year old whizzing past stabilisers on it will be me 😃

Hello.Morning walk across the fields.Tidied up downstairs.
went round to the mothers. Hoovered, dishes, bins etc.
a tad blustery and such a cold wind. Though sun has been shining throughout the day. Some much needed rain through the night.
an odd snoozette in afternoon. Was watching something and kept dozing then waking then rewinding then dozing then waking then rewinding!Gammon joint in oven will be another half an hour, just going to steam veggies to go with it and just enough cheese sauce for me!Another week in ! Shall see what Boris has to say tonight but I’m much more in agreement with our Scottish FM and believe we still need to be in lockdown meantime. But whatever please take care and stay safe13 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in.
2) Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast.
3) Not only have I managed to get a Sainsburys Click and Collect slot, but also to order some plain flour!
4) A lovely walk in the afternoon along new (to us) footpaths that seemed to offer everything you could want - a manor house, walled gardens, goats, hens, deer and a river! Saw 3 people but managed to avoid them.
5) Tasty tea of Spanish RTC pork chops with roast veg and corn on the cob.
6) Another walk after tea so did 5.5 miles today.
7) Planning a few improvements to the garden - just sorting out the uneven slabs and replacing the edge of one border. Might stain the fence - its only been up since 2009!

For yesterday,
A much colder day, bit of shock when opened door first thing to let small dog out.
Very different catch up on all things Ambridge, old episodes inc Ed & Emma’s wedding.
After a gazillion days of cooking the treat of a takeaway lunch from local pub, all organised so distances can be kept and the food was delicious, huge portions as well so plenty of leftovers.
Playing Yahtzee with beloved, 3 - 0 to me!
Watched THE speech and tbh are still not completely sure so will not change a thing in our household, path of least resistance etc.13 -

I too have befriended a fox balabooberlies, at a distance of course. Have just looked up whether safe to feed https://www.bbcwildlife.org.uk/urban-fox so for yesterday
1) winter returned, complete with hail, so put the heating on for a boost then had a lovely bath with Christmas salts (still working my way through the stash vjsmum)
2) though did manage to get a load of washing dry as also very windy and not at all humid like Saturday
3) watched NT Antony and Cleopatra. Found Cleopatra a little bit shouty but overall excellent. Not a play I've seen before
4) walked the boys with DD2 down to shop - we're now shopping local every 4 days - saw 2 work colleagues so said hello suitably distanced
5) then my official non-food walk was 9:30 after 45 minutes on the old Joanna. streets deserted. stopped to say hello to my urban fox - he lives in the grounds of a private hospital that closed last year. Having read the above link I might leave him one of the boys' toys.
Very happy we can now have more than one walk a day

Hello Miss Dundee
thank you for the link. will check it out this evening.
I don't know if it's the windy weather or the fact that the roads are much busier today........but my birds haven't turned up. Most disappointed.
Received a food delivery yesterday and the driver was really funny. It was nice to have a laugh.
This is going to sound really selfish, naive, ridiculous and plain mad...........because it is. If I had my way I would keep the lock down going until autumn. Give the earth and nature time to breathe and recover and for us urbanites to enjoy it.
There..........I've said it !AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo
According to a lovely poster I am Bala the Brave who wrestled a Tiger. You know who you are.....
I HAVE A GOLD STAR and A MEDAL and a Title !15 -
Good day . And a very chilly one it is too.
We're enjoying seeing lots of wildlife too. Funny really, because we back into a field so I suppose it's always there, but has been much more in evidence lately. A baby rat in the garden this morning. Obviously lost and confused.
Much though I enjoy seeing wildlife, I would really like to see loved ones soon. Mr Raab seems to be saying we can - unless he got that wrong!
Alexa told me no rain was forecast for today, so I put the washing out. Turns out she doesn't know everything after all! Washing now on the clothes horse.
Happy chilly day everyone
