Pleasures for the last coupla days:
Monday
1. Walked into town with OH and DD - DD is quite low at the moment so persuading her to do anything is a bonus.
2. Made a mask watching the end of The Nest
3. Watched an episode of SS-GB and finished my Robert Galbraith book.
4. Yoga.
5. OH cooked... something... a cake and erm...... something for tea... which was probly nice...
And yesterday:
1. Started work for my viva - the thought of it is scaring me silly but at least it means i'll do some work for it.
2. read my new book - a Minette Walters.
3. OH and i went for a walk locally - over the fields. The easing of restrictions means we plan to take a picnic and do a lengthy walk at the weekend... still unlikely to meet too many people, we think.
4. DD cooked home made spicy chicken nuggets for tea - they were yom...
5. Family film night - DS's choice which was Pixar's "Inside out"...
Have a nice day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens17 -
Good afternoon
Good horse riding news Lainey
Went out today to local shopping centre for first time in forever. Walked a bit, looked at queues for MnS food, got back in the car and came home!!
Don't usually remember dreams, but do lately. In them I keep making mistakes, losing things, dropping things, forgetting things. Nothing major but lots of little irritations. Wonder what a psychiatrist would make of that!!
Chilly wind again so garden abandoned for now. Kitchen cupboard sorting on the cards again.
Happy chilly day everyone16 -

After receiving a ridiculous price to renew my car insurance (a 73% increase!) I sat down at the computer as soon as I got up and went on moneysupermarket. Within minutes I had found a quote that was only 20% higher than what I paid last year, and it includes breakdown cover as well so I was able to cancel my breakdown policy, saving me a few quid for the year. Result! I do love shopping around and saving money.
Great haul of stuff from the Wednesday fruit and veg van for a tenner, meaning we are ok for F and V until past the weekend.
Lovely bright sunny day but cold, so I was grateful when son volunteered to take dog out.
Fry up for lunch - bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, black pud, tinned tomatoes, fried bread and hash browns. Jelly, yoghurt and shortbread for afters.
Filed away a pile of stuff in the filing cabinet, so Admin Central is looking tidy again.
Curled up on sofa with the Now70s channel on in the background.
All prep done for work tomorrow, a pleasure because I know after that shift I will have 12 days off, and the weather forecast is good. One life - your life - live it!16 -
Shall try again!Busy kind of day. Just came up to bed after washing the downstairs floors. Beautiful sunset and it’s just got dark at 10pm.
started the day very early and enjoyed our doggy walk. Just me, him and lots of birds.Baked. Which I always enjoy and more so if it’s for someone else . For someone else without the pressure of someone asking you to make something specific. It was appreciated so that’s all that matters.
Had to go to the mothers. She was a tad forgetful today. And a tad grumpy. Anyway lots of paperworky stuff sorted now. And a parting conversation of ‘who’s going to pay for my funeral?’ ...er, your estate!Had to go to pharmacy but no queue so that was good. Popped into work to briefly say hello from a safe distance.Did a small supermarket sweep as mum needed stuff and I picked up a few plants .
Home! And I actually don’t really know what I did for the afternoon...ate and watched stuff I think! Watched Masterchef Australia. Hung out washing.
popped back to tesco as I’d forgotten something and had also clocked they’d had rtc peonies at lunchtime ( that were too expensive even then) so managed to nab two bunches for £1.50 each. I love them. One was for a friend.Met a friend and chatted safely.Home and brought washing in, hoovered and washed floors. Cuddles with doggy.14 -

Nice photo bop can't find any mention of footie, so you'll have to make do with this https://twitter.com/i/status/1259931151403290624
1) walking cardio - it sounded so gentle! gave me a nice glow to start the day
2) mrpiano phoned - he's coming home!!! flight booked for 16th June. We are working out quarantine arrangements. he'll be home for his 40th (but not quite out of quarantine)
3) the other tuna steak for tea. just as nice
4) an hour on the piano - so lovely to be playing again. mrpiano says i mustn't stop when he gets back home. well it is a bit daunting when you have someone who can play the whole of rach 3 from memory!
5) then walked the dogs. my second of the day. hooray walks are no longer rationed. no sign of mr fox but i have worked out why he comes to see me - i was later tonight and there was some food - someone else is feeding him!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in.
2) 8 hours done in the garden! One paved area dug up, all bricks edging the paths dug up and re-laid. Bigger son made raised beds for the rectangular and the triangular beds. Photos will follow tomorrow.
3) Popped to the allotment to get the rubble sacks (for broken bricks) and the farm had sacks of manure out the front again so we had some more of those. Bigger son said we must leave them some courgette plants as we've had so much muck.
4) Had our second Sainsburys click and collect order of the lockdown.
5) Campfire on the allotment (seventh of the lockdown!)
6) Ordered some legs from Ebay! We've sanded down lengths of old scaffolding board to make a bench for the garden and for my room and wanted some proper metal legs.
7) Watched the Great British Sewing Bee.
8) My brother is organising a socially distanced bike ride with bigger son and my brother in law and sister are going to go out in their big canoe and he is going to kayak 2 metres behind!

Recent pleasures are mostly from my walk at a different part of our beautiful country park:
clouds in the blue sky reflected in the lake
looking for the heronery featured in Sunday’s Countryfile. Think we found it although it wasn’t full of herons but we did see two flying nearby
a whole gaggle of greylag geese and their goslings - gorgeous 😊
the feel of sunshine 🌞 on my face
Definitely a place to return to soon and there are cherry trees there!
Enjoy your pleasures and the warmer weather to come 😊

For yesterday,
Chat with DB and inspired by our conversation I ordered a card for his upcoming milestone birthday.
A woodpecker using his battering ram of a beak to get at the suet treats and all the sparrows underneath grabbing at the leftovers.
Bit of housework, bit of reading and some pottering in the garden.
Evening walk with beloved and small dog, chilly but the sun was out.
Toad in the hole for tea, followed by The Repair Shop.
