Mine too then
The random acts of kindness I witness almost daily.
The fact that I can take the dogs out twice a day from tomorrow.
My lovely DH buying me plants when he can.
The fantastic new enclosed dog field, have been there again this week.
The lovely bread roll I've just had, still warm from the oven.Spend less now, work less later.15 -
Oooohhhhh
am so jealous of your dog field. If I had the money I would buy one for my Tiggy. After all, it's not as if I spoil her too much.......................

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) A lie in!
2) A bit of a tidy up a.m. Bigger son got King of the Mountain for biking a local section on Strava. My brother went out later to run the same stretch and is running King of the Mountain!
3) Went to the allotment and did a bit of weeding and planted the cabbages out. The allotment owner (it's part of a farm) appeared for a chat - hadn't seen her for several weeks.
4) Off out to get some railway style sleepers that a reclamation yard had left out for us to pick up. We're going to re-jig the garden tomorrow and Thursday.
5) Kedgeree for tea.
6) Played a bit of tennis.
7) Smaller son and I made Belgian buns that weren't perfect (I had to buy a pre made bag of bread flour mix as I've been unable to find proper flour) but they were OK with plenty of dried fruit in plus cinnamon icing.
8) Watched Hospital - good but sad.

1) forgot to set my alarm and slept till 7:30 - bliss
2) pancakes, lemon and sugar for breakfast - using up some rather sad quarters of lemon i found languishing a the bottom of the freezer. when life gives you lemons make pancakes!
3) tuna steak, new potatoes and asparagus for tea - i'd forgotten i had the tuna - that was also languishing in the freezer
4) then dd2 and i shared a bag of minty Malteser buttons
5) long walk with the boys and phoned my dad. saw mr fox as he dashed across the road but he didn't stop for a chat tonight. he was clearly on a mission!

Hello
Early start again.
My lovely elderly neighbour phoned last night to thank me for some pears I had left for her. I try not to overwhelm her because she is like a beautiful tiny bird. In fact she reminds me of a 1920's flapper girl without the sass ! She has great gentility and grace.
During the conversation she mentioned that THE rat is back. Last year when I revelled in feeding the birds a rat was seen and so I had to stop. She is convinced the same one is back. She could be right so I have to cease and desist.
It was absolutely wonderful while/whilst (?) it lasted and when she mentioned that she had noticed the birds waiting for me on the fence it gave me a great sense of something that I can't quite describe. I don't care that it's just cupboard love. I'll take it wherever I can get it ! ;-)
I don't normally watch BGT/X Factor but I caught Saturday's show and saw the dog Miracle, that had been saved from the dog meat market somewhere in Asia. The photos horrified me.
I have some very major changes to make in my life but have decided that once I am on my feet again I will make it my mission in life to lobby governments to ban this heinous tradition. This dog was saved from 3 thousand others packed in on top of each other. God knows how many had died from suffocation. There are certain instances where being PC or sensitive to traditions is absolutely inappropriate. I don't know enough yet because of not feeling my best recently. I am afraid to look. But when I am stronger...............
It has been known that Corona/Covid in all likelihood originated from wet markets. What are their governments thinking allowing them to continue ?
Okay, soapbox put away.
My, my, my.....there has been snow overnight in some parts of the country.........
Am off to feed my birds the last of the seed. And then out with Tiggy for early walk.
Have a good day......

Bala - hugs
1. My manager came to speak to me about an adjustment made to help my back. It has worked to a certain extent.
Otherwise work wasn't great.
2. Worked to the post box after work to post a birthday card to a friend's little one.
3. Spoke with my neighbours.
4. Enjoyed watering the plants and spending time enjoying the garden.

Thank you VL
worked out that it might have been the rat that stole my newly planted celery although it dug a hole 6 inches deep. That hole appears every now and then no matter how many times I fill it.
It goes without saying that reading about your pleasures (all of you) is a source of great pleasure. Just incase I don't mention it enough.
Although I love the person I live with we have very little left in terms of things in common and want very different things in life. So it gets very lonely sometimes. Reading about your lives and the joy that is taken in the smallest of things brightens my day and gives me hope for the future.
So, thank you.

Good morning , not sure why I’ve had a headache the past 3 Tuesdays and not on any other day But headache yesterday and so early to bed.Was up early and did the fields with the doggy . Then down to the allotment, a chat on way down with a friend as she was on her way back up.Poor pumpkin plants have been obliterated by the frost. But I gave them a drink of water on the off chance they can be revived( thinking probably not) . Just sat for a bit and listened to the birds. Ate my banana and then the hike home. And then didn’t really do too much. Son made tea which was nice.Up extra early this morning so we were over the fields about 45 minutes earlier than usual. Just me and my doggy boy and lots of birds. Walked to the hillock at the far side of the second field and I just stop and admire the view which has hills in all directions in the far distance.Came home and was baking by 6.30am and was reminded of my happy time baking in the cafe in Melbourne when it was just me and before the doors opened and the madness began. Made some muffins for a friend who has a celebration today but the can’t go anywhere nor have folk over. Dropped them off. Snipped some tiny flowers to make a little posy too.Have a lovely day14

Sorry to hear that Tiggy has had health issues and that you are struggling Bala, hugs from me too. Dare I mention a bait box for Mr Rat.....
For yesterday,
Time at the yard, girlie back to her usual placid self, lunged then a little stroll around the now empty winter paddocks. Heard later that the BHS have lifted riding ban so forest beckons!
Home, very hungry so welcome bowl of broccoli & stilton soup.
Dog grooming pal has been allowed to start back up by KC, under strict guidelines obviously, small dog left in front porch and was returned hour later thoroughly shorn and smelling sweet. Waved to pal through kitchen window.
During above I spent an enjoyable time painting, on paper not walls, forgotten how much I liked doing it.
Easy tea of stir-fry veg, noddles and peppered mackerel.

Frith, what an amazing photo, to have within walking distance.Bala, sending big hugs, animals can never be spoiled too much..Dh and I are contemplating buying treats at a ridiculous price so they don't run out when we can't get out at the moment.
1 A bit more sorting another bin bag of clothes out, also office sorting I dread to think how much unsorted paperwork is just open the door put it in close the door.
2 Fish and veg was dinner.
3 Watered the front and back gardens.
4 My to do list is still there, I do plan to make progress on it tomorrow, is that a pleasure hmm.
5 I think I slept throu the night for the first time in ages.
