O2 Broadband (merged)

I was thinking of migrating to o2 soon and even placed the line transfer to BT... But I see a lot of connection and speed issues on their forums, which kind of worries me. I have been with Bulldog for a very long time and the connection has been very stable so far. Am I making a mistake here by switching to o2?
There are THREE types of problems with o2 broadband (none of them unique to o2):
1. In common with some other BB providers over the last week a fibre-optic cable in the data infrastructure in London was severed which led to congestion over several days and various people suffering from symptoms caused by that started speculating that o2 were sabotaging/capping/shaping them etc etc = 100% false alarm, but still a temporary glitch, outside o2's control that DID cause service to SOME users to deteriorate.
2. o2 ACCESS subscribers, who are just receiving a standard BTw ADSL/ADSLmax service, expect a bit too much - having read how good o2 LLU's ADSL2+ services are - and o2's support for o2 ACCESS is not as well trained/briefed/helpful as it is for the LLU service.
3. A handful of o2 LLU exchanges suffer from congestion from time to time.
Read the ThinkBroadband forum - probably 99% of users would probably 100% recommend o2 LLU ADSL2+ broadband. The o2 Access BTw ADSL/ADSL2max service has a more mixed response.
I've been with o2 Standard (upto 8Mb ADSL2+ LLU service) for 3 days short of 1yr and have no regrets whatsoever - great service, great support, great price - not perfect of course - but I don't think there is such a provider, even at ten times the price.

o2 give mobile subscribers, either contract or PAYG, their £5/m broadband discount EACH MONTH if they meet the discount requirements that month.
So if you had say an o2 mobile monthly contract that ran out during your first year of o2 broadband, then the monthly o2 bb bill would go up £5 to £12.50/m once your mobile contract expired.
However with an o2 PAYG you need only top up £10/qtr (see the terms on the o2 website re 3 months to 3 days before your monthly BB billing date) to obtain that £5/m discount - ie 4 x £10 over 1yr to get 12 x £5 discount.

Basically then I'd need to get an O2 PAYG sim as I'm going to port to Vodafone next month. That would therefore mean for a year my broadband and line rental (BT) will cost:
= £7.50*12 + £10*4 + £10.50*12 (BT) - £90 (quidco)
= £166 ie. £13.84 a month
So it would be more convenient to just switch from my BT line and Broadband to Tiscali Option 1 as it will cost:
= £30 (connection) + £9.99*3 (3mth offer) + £14.99*9 - £30 (quidco)
= £164.88 ie. £13.74 a month
So only slightly cheaper than O2 but a lot less hassle.
Does anyone know if I keep my landline number the same with Tiscali?0 -

Competition laws mean you can nearly always keep your number, landline or mobile. I switched to tiscali about 1.5 years ago, £14.99 pcm including line rental, still hard to beat, i had no hassles making the switch.0 -
My O2 broadband is live from today-trouble free and quick instalation.
The only problem is:
I can't log on to my O2 online broadband account.
Has anyone experienced anything similar?0 -

Has anyone got arsenal T-shirt yet? What do I have to do for it? Just signed up to O2 broadband last week.
I think you will find that the Arsenal shirt is an ALTERNATIVE reward/discount/cashback to any other - ie according to the terms quoted you have to PURCHASE (ie subscribe to) your o2 Home BB via SMS'ing GUNNERS to 60600 and hence you can't have applied online via a cashback/referral site such as quidco with their current £60 offering.

But according to the rules, the shirt arrives 14 days after the Return period (30 or 50 days into the contract).
To receive it you either use the text method. Or I applied here: http://www.arsenal.com/the-club/arsenal-products/free-arsenal-shirt-when-you-sign-for-o2-home-broadband
Can someone answer the question I posed here .Ok I just ordered O2 broadband via quidco last night. It tracked as £60.
I dont have a O2 phone (so registered for the full £15 16mbit deal), but also just ordered a free payg sim card under the same name.
I was told by a girl from O2 last week that I can start the discount to make it £10 a month anytime after ordering. So if I get the payg sim in a week or so and phone O2 to get my broadband cost reduced, will this affect my Quidco claim?
The £60 has already tracked through quidco, and says Jan '09.
Thanks.0
