I'm currently using my own Belkin router I've had no problems with this. In the intial welcome pack they give you all the appropriate settings for connections so its very easy to set up.
    Waddle you do eh?

I was planning to switch to O2 over the weekend as my madasafish contract expires in 10 days.
It was my birthday yesterday and was pleasantly surprised this morning by e-mail from O2.They offered me a free broadband for an year,12 month contract and paying £7.50 after the year.I phoned them up and signed up in less than 5 minutes.
So free Broadband for an year, great!

We've switched from Maaf and a wireless netgear box to o2 wireless box (white one) about 6 weeks ago and had major problems since then.
My mac is 'hardwired' into it and is fine, however, the laptop and my sons computer cannot connect to it numerous times. Infact, they cannot even pick up our network.

We've had several phone calls to o2 which temporarily fix it by changing channel, but hubby is getting majorly !!!!ed off with it all now.

Any suggestions as to what to try next?
Should I ask for a new modem or just find a new isp?

I see Quidco are now offering £60 cashback for going to o2, has anyone had any problems with this?
  • Just about to switch from BE to O2, just need to get my MAC key and I can then switch. Just would like to know how to get the £60 via quidco, I have an account with quidco but just not clear how to sign up via the website with my MAC key.
  • O2 has had very positive coverage but I have to say I am having a nightmare switching to them and have had no service for the last 7 days.
I was due to be switched from Newnet last Wednesday but BT managed to cut off my phone line and leave me connected to Newnet. My phone line has now been restored and I have been switched over to O2 but I still can't get broadband (something to do with tie pairs?). Meanwhile O2 have sent me messages to say that they are invoicing me from last week when my service should have started. I accept the problem is with the BT exchange but only O2 can deal with them directly. They do seem to be doing this but I have had to call in order to get updates at every stage with conflicting and inconsistent information about what the problem is and whether or not it has been fixed.

I guess my point is that even if O2 do their best to sort the problem you might still be at the mercy of BT wholesale.
  • I'm also thinking of leaving madasafish and signing up with O2 Premium. I've spoken to O2 a couple of times and they've told me that I'm about 1.5 km from the Southall BT exchange, and that with the new ADSL 2+ technology they use I should be able to get more or less 16Meg speed. But they said they connot be sure until I'm connected.

Would be interested to hear from anybody using Southall exchange what speed you are getting with O2.

Have no idea how to go about using Quidco.
